I actually kind of enjoy this because I know exactly what's happening to my animal during the exam and why. Dr Knee did a great job of explaining the possible reasons of my cat's problem ear, discussing options as well. He gave him a steroid shot and had his ears cleaned by the tech. What I really liked about him is he asked to first sit and discuss the issues before pulling my cat out of carrier. So many times at other veterinary places they often do all the talking while the cat is just sitting there on exam table acting nervous! I felt it was a very thorough exam and the pricing is about the same as other veterinarian offices. He was very personable and professional. I am glad to have found a new vet doctor for my cat. The entire team treated us and our Bella with care and respect over the two days we were there, making a heartbreaking experience feel a little more gentle and supported. He needed his teeth cleaned desperately. Where I lived on the main land there were only 2 Vets that did dental and I was not established with either having my local vet. Moved to Maui and was family recommended to MVC. It cost me $2500.00 to have his teeth cleaned and yes they did a good job. My boy was in excellent health being we had to go through so much to bring him on island. Let's just understand I spent A LOT $$$. But he's my boy and money didn't matter. What matters is having his best interest be first and foremost. Now currently not needing any care since the cleaning, I called and asked for a calming med as New Years approaches and I was told no that he had to be seen. I consider this absolutely unacceptable !!!!! He's FOUR POUNDS !!! And he is EXTREMELY SCARED of fireworks !!! I don't think that was asking for too much . Clearly they want $$$$$ !!! Every time I have any kind of medical issue with my animals, their staff is so prompt in getting us…read morein for an appointment. I've been coming here for 7 +/- years and couldn't be happier. I just had a huge issue with one of my dogs with kidney stones as big as the tip of your thumb. There was no way that they were going to get blasted to break up to where they could pass. So she had to have surgery and they were so booked that we had to schedule out further than anticipated. The doctor knew how important this was and rearranged her schedule so we could get her in the following day. I'm so happy that they are so sincere and you can feel how much they care about you and your fur babies. And I know if they can't get back to me right away it's because 9 out of 10 times they have to wait for somebody else to get them. Thank you for caring for my fur babies.
