We went back tonight because we had a phenomenal experience last week (service by Aubrey and food was phenomenal) when we went. Tonight was completely the opposite. This was on a Saturday night this time whereas our 5-star experience was on a weekday. Tonight the service was the exact opposite. Our servers name on the check was Kat, I believe here name was Katerina. She seemed to have an attitude as if she didn't want to be there. Literally she did the ABSOLUTE bare minimum. The food tonight was a huge disappointment. I ordered the Grilled Shrimp and Scallops which came with a side of pasta with mussels. The shrimp were beyond overcooked and the mussels were huge but seemed undercooked. The entire dish was cold to lukewarm. My wife's chicken dish was not hot either. Bread came after our soup and salads but all the other tables were given bread before. From this experience alone, I will have a hard time deciding to go back, especially on a weekend. It's such a shame because when my family really likes a local place, we tend to visit almost weekly. Came back to the area for a special event. Stayed in a hotel right next door and we ordered Sicilian pizza, a regular pizza, cheese steak, chicken fingers, fries, and two salads. Salad was soggy, Sicilian was hard, both pizzas were salty, chicken fingers were dry. Even the kids wouldn't eat the food. Ordered on line was told 25 minutes. When I first moved to the area, Paradise was highly recommended. I tried it but it's never been my "go to" Italian place. They don't deliver and, often, I just find it easier to order in. As a result, when I AM going to eat in or pickup, those other places I order from jump to mind first...so it becomes a Catch 22. Also, on my last visit I noticed that they surcharge for credit card payments. That's a pet peeve of mine (admittedly irrational) but I've avoided it since for that reason. I know, merchants are charged interchange fees etc. But other businesses absorb it and I'll usually prefer to go to those first. All this being said, I have no complaint with the food, it's as good as or better than most other places in the neighborhood. read more

I am very happy with my pizza steak choice. In my simpleton terms I will call the roll an Italian baguette. It is toasted. The menu says that the Cheesesteaks are made with sirloin. It is made with very good sirloin. A touch thicker slice of meat and more of a rip than a chop. The cheese is melted very nicely on top. The sauce is where they trick you. There is a little bit of sauce on top of the cheese. That is not all of the sauce. There is sauce under the cheese and it makes for a nice tasty juicy sandwich. The roll had a little tough time with all the sauce but I will consider that a good sauce problem and not a bad roll problem. read more

I started with a bowl of pasta fagiole and it was more like minestrone with some beans and pasta- still tasty though. I followed with an eggpant parm sandwich and happily the eggplant was not the pre-packaged stuff - it was made in-house. The sauce was very nice - tasted fresh. There was no real direction, no actual menu other than the printed one they have. So if you are not a regular it could be confusing. We were not the only ones confused. Pizza tasted like pizza, sauce was dark, tangy and very tomato-ey (it's a word now!), cheese was slightly greasy and stretchy/stringy. The crust was extra crispy and on the thin side. This place was just an average pizza place and didn't wow me with flavor or anything, but it wasn't terrible either. The mozzarella/basil/tomato slice I had was much better than the plain cheese, but the kids didn't' care, they were happy with theirs. I wish the "gourmet" slices weren't $3.25 each or I would have ordered more! Plain came out to $1.95 a piece. A whole pie is about $12, even more than what I pay for my favorite (Vincent's in Rockledge). The only other place that charged that much for a slice of gourmet that I've been to recently was Christian's Pizza in Charlottesville, VA - which is the best freaking pizza I've tasted ever, so I'll happily pay that much there. Here, not so much, especially with a thin crust! I'm happy to report they sell Stewart's root beer products though. :) read more

A friend of mine suggested Paradise and raved about how good it was, so I was surprised to arrive at what I thought was a pizzeria. It was actually a full Italian restaurant and was excellent! Italian dishes are so good, especially the bolognese sauce...my favorite. I recently had bolognese in Bologna, Italy and I still think Paradise made it better! Truth! They also have gluten-free options which is great for my husband. Miranda is our favorite waitress. We recently celebrated my Mom's birthday with a group of 10 and Miranda treated us like family. We've been here a few times so we've tried a small variety. The sauce included with calamari was so great that we asked for it on our pasta! They were nice to give us a large bowl of it!
