I've not been to FRANZONE's in Bridgeport in a while, and had a taste for their delish pizza with its famous sweet tomato sauce. It did not disappoint!! So good. The wings were very good as well. I ordered via phone and the staff member was very pleasant and had great customer service etiquette. The reason for the 3 rating and not 4, is the customer service when My boyfriend went in to pick up our order. A couple in front of him received a "hello how are you today, what was your order? Okay here you go please review us and have a nice day" Very friendly. My boyfriend got a "whatta you got" no hello no good customer etiquette at all.. Maybe the couple were regulars and the cashier knew them. ‍ Not sure why the different treatment, but it should be consistent among all customers. I will be trying the FRANZONE's in Conshohocken from now on. read more

I have to say that I'm falling in love with Franzone's Pizza. First time at this location. Third time having their pizza overall. I can't get enough of the sweet sauce. I think this location makes their pies just a little bit better than the other location. It just hit my tastebuds perfectly. Sometimes a place just hits for you. It hits for me here. read more

My first pizza pie from Franzones. It came highly recommended. I ordered a Bacon and Pepperoni Pizza with extra cheese (well done). I live only 9 minutes from the restaurant. When I returned home and picked up a slice it went limp -- No crispy crust. Had to reheat it. TIP: if you have an air fryer, it cooks the pizza faster and gives it a crispy crust. read more

From someone who grew up in the area tonight I was unfortunately just disappointed. Our pizza seemed to be just cut in any which way, burnt & messed up. The taste also was not the same. Solid local pizza place with a great sweet red sauce. My go to is a round red pie with pepperoni and extra cheese. Be careful if you like extra sauce has it is a thin crust and can get kind of soupy. If you like extra sauce, I'd recommend it on the side that way you can add what you like. read more

3.5 stars. I've returned several times over the course of a year and noticed the quality is not always consistent. Sometimes the veggies are fresh and add the right texture, sometimes not as much. When you order a pizza fresh, it's best to eat it right there to get the best eating experience, rather than take out. When you take out, the texture of the crust changes and gets more chewy while it's in the box. But dining in can have challenges - The air is often filled with smoke from cooking or burning in ovens/grills plus lack of adequate ventilation, making it unpleasant to breathe and dine in. Pizza is still 4-stars, dining in experience 2.0, and that would make this a 3-star review, but because I'm giving the pizza a higher weight (more important than the smoky greasy joint dining experience), I'm giving it 3.5 stars, which rounds up to a 4 here. read more

Had takeout from this restaurant. The pizza had too much cheese on it for my likings and the sauce was sweet. Again, not my preference.

First time trying this place tonight. I'm sure the people who love this pizza, LOVE this pizza. However, for us the sauce is wayyyyy too sweet. I'm not talking naturally sweet ripe tomatoes, I'm talking tonnsssss of sugar added to the marinara sauce- almost like the restaurant didn't portion the added sugar correctly. I will say that the order was prompt and the delivery driver came to the right door of my apartment- which drivers usually never find. Additionally, I added a comment to add sides of honey mustard and ranch bc that wasn't an option on grub hub- and they added it to my delivery! I was psyched!!! We got the DeJohn special and took it to Workhorse Brewing Co. The DeJohn special comes with melted cheese, mushrooms, onions and sauce, award-winning sauce. I was skeptical about this Cheesesteak when I unwrapped it. The sauce was on top. I prefer my sauce mixed in with the rest of the ingredients but did make a mental note that this was good sauce. I wish my mushrooms spent more time on the grill getting to know the meat. The fried onions with stringy which I do like. It was a pretty good roll. The meat was pretty darn tasty. This cheesesteak needed a more loving grill person. At Workhorse Brewing we were greeted in the parking lot by a sign with a whole lot of rules but the people and beer were very nice. read more

If I could give less than 1 star, I would. I decided to order from here as I had no cash and had to choose somewhere other than Angelo's. After searching through recommendations, I landed on this pizza place after reading the best reviews. This pizza was HORRIBLE!! The pizza was as sweet as candy, not at all enjoyable. The pizza was SO undercooked that you could still see the individual strands of mozzarella cheese! I used to live by the fact that Even a bad pizza is edible. Ugh! I'd like to give this place a good pizza review, but I cannot. Old, old school building, nice like in the 6os and 70s. And listen, they were cooking crazy philly cheeses, and they looked great so I guess I should of went with one of dem. But I wanted pizza, you know. Franzone's has been a Bridgeport institution for 60+ years. A terrific small family owned pizzeria with a large menu. The pizza here is very different, sweet sauce, trademark swirled cheese and a thin and crispy crust. Gravy fries, steak sandwiches, and broccoli bites were a hit. They have a good selection of beers by the bottle too. The service is personable and they make you feel like family. Very kid friendly. I hear they are going to spruce the old decor up a bit. Sometimes we get a few half baked pizzas and throw them in the freezer to take back to Utah. Service came quickly: our waitress asked if we wanted drinks and then we ordered a pizza to share. We had half of our pie (medium and of the thin-crust variety) covered with smoked hot sausage and pineapples, leaving the other half plain. Our order came out in about 10 minutes. I don't know. Maybe their pizza is good, but I had a tuna sub and my wife had the chicken parmigiana. My sub was about the most bland I've ever had. The tuna fish was almost watery. I remember Philly Magazine voted Franzone's Pizzeria as one of the best pizza places. It won because of the sauce and since my favorite part of pizza is the sauce, I made it a goal to try Franzone's Pizzeria. When I finally got around to trying it, I loved it. Franzone's has the best sweet sauce. Since the pizza is mostly sweet sauce, it is easy to eat more than a couple of slices. Wow my favorite pizza in Pennsylvania has really gone downhill. Not only are the consistently rude on the phone when taking orders they show no manners either when you are inside picking up. But in the past I always looked past that bc the pizza WAS my favorite. Ordered lunch yesterday and was denied bc it was less than $10 and I didn't have cash. Counter guy look at me and said too bad! I left so furious and felt super disrespected. No need to sound like an ignorant ass when your the one who makes pizza for a living. Eat some humble pie jerk. Lost a long time (over 20 yr customer).
