I had family in town, and we decided to do an escape room. We booked online at Paradox. Their website lists the room we picked as being for 2-8 people. There were 3 of us. Fast forward to the time we are told to be there. We checked in, and were informed that 3 more people would be joining us in the room. I'm not a fan of this, since I don't know the other 3 people, nor was I informed of this at the time of booking. We were asked if we wanted to watch the video while we waited for the other 3 people. I said we would wait since we were going to have to wait for them to watch it anyway. Staff described the video as "pretty boring", and she seemed inconvenienced by having to work. The other 3 guests showed up 10 minutes late, talked through the entire video, appeared to have been drinking, and walked in and out of the room like they couldn't be bothered with anything. Once we got in the room, they continued to talk and not listen to the directions being given. The 3 delights then ransacked the room with no order or communication, and refused to work with us or listen. We basically paid $90 to be trapped in a room with three arrogant drunk loud mouths. I'm sure the room would have been fun if we had been allowed to participate. Complete waste of our money. Tell people up front if they're going to have to work with drunk strangers in a room. I could have saved a lot of money and just sat at a bar for the same experience. read more

This was our first time doing an escape room and it was a blast! We got lucky and it was just me and my husband which is how we wanted it. We did the bunker room and it was a great experience. The clues were just right, to help us when we got stuck. The puzzles were challenging but very fun. I would come back here for sure. We didn't make it out in time but we only had two steps left in order to make it out. We were told we did extremely well with just the two of us. I had a great time and doing these might be my new obsession. Haha. I recommend this place for sure. It's a little tucked back in the corner of a small shopping center and we drove past it 2 times but it's right there i promise. They were very accommodating with water and sodas and the place was clean. Our escape room lady that helped us was awesome. I can't remember her name and now I feel bad but she was great! read more

Money Heist! Did date night with some friends and had so much! My husband even decided to dress on costume!! This theme was so well put together!! The room had a great set up and everything was in good condition and the props were great! (some Escape the Room in the valley are getting old and props need replacements!) Booked it 3 weeks ago, got a confirmation email at 2 the day of the event and we show up after getting sitters and planning our Saturday around it only to find out their room was broken and they turned us away. They claimed we should have received a cal, which we didn't as they knew days in advance, but still sent a confirmation email the day of. Wasted our night out and money on sitters for the group. We always try out different escape rooms when travel. This was our second room in the Phoenix area. The young staff members working the day we went were very apathetic from the beginning. We had some issues with the quality as well. Some equations followed the order of operations, and some didn't. Word locks that did not use words. It showed a lack of attention to detail. This is the first room I've done that penalizes your time starting with the very first clue. This includes other franchises from the same parent company as paradox. Most places will add the time to your total to keep the leaderboard fair instead of taking time from you. If you are looking for a place to have fun and enjoy yourself, this is not the place to go due to this policy. If you are a hardcore enthusiast obsessed with the leaderboard, this is the place for you. I would not recommend this location if you are just looking to enjoy the experience. read more

We had an AWESOME time here - Me and my husband and our friends (another couple) did the Casino Heist and had so much fun. The rooms have a 10 person capacity and we expected 6 more people we would be working with, but we had the room to ourselves, which was a pleasant surprise. It was the very first escape room for all 4 of us, so we didn't know what to expect. We had a BLAST together. We did run into a few problems though: The rooms are not sound proof, so when we arrived there was another group in that room. No big deal... except that we heard a few of the things they were trying to do, which gave away some clues for when it was our turn. The main problem tough was that there was no clear beginning point. they gave us the back story and said, "good luck,' and closed the door. We ended up finding some of the 'middle' clues first, but then we couldn't go forward without having to work backwards to find some clues we had missed. I will definitely go back, but I hope the other rooms are organized a little bit better. read more

Unfortunately, the second experience wasn't that great. We did the Bunker room escape which was ok in itself, not my favorite room we've done, but ok. The overall experience, however, wasn't good. They explained the clues system to us, (you lose 1 min for the first clue, 3 min for the second clue, and 5 for the third), and off we went. Well, we got stuck and decided to request the first clue. They were NOT paying attention at all to where we were at in the story. They deducted the one minute and gave us a clue that we'd got like 10 min prior to that! It took us another 3-4 min to get them up to speed and since they couldn't hear us we had to sign to get them to understand that that clue wasn't helpful at all. Same thing happened with the second clue...:((( We ran out of time on the last puzzle and when they showed us the clue we were supposed to get with a black light it looked so faded that you could barely see it! They didn't really keep that up at all! Not escaping the room is fine, but it's incredibly frustrating to waste time on smth they were supposed to be monitoring. When we left the room the only thing we got was "ok, bye guys". We didn't even get to take pictures or anything. The employee really couldn't care less whether or not we had a good time... Not sure we'll be back there... read more

What a fun unique time. If you want to do something that is fun, different, and thought provoking this is for you. It is a little tricky first starting off because you don't know what to make of everything and all the clues; However, the employees are helpful and get you going when they notice you are having a difficult time. read more

Plan your next family night here!! Took our 5 and 8 year old kids and had such a fun time tonight. We did the casino room which is kid friendly. Our kids were challenged and entertained the whole time. This is a great alternative to movie nights or bowling, etc . Great way to bond with the family. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We didn't pass the challenge but that's OK. We will be back again. My 8 year old didn't want to leave and begged to do another room. read more

I've done 11 escape rooms so far and this place had two of my least favorite rooms. The staff was great, friendly, and booking online was easy. Bunker - This room was alright. I'd give it a 6/10 Casino Heist - Pretty bad. 2/10. For a room that is called casino heist, when you walk into the room, you feel like you've walked into a budget casinos managers office. Many of the clues were so vague you had no idea what the intent was. Finished with 18 minutes to spare and had 2 first timers. The safe room didn't even have puzzles, however they gave you 12 keys and said have fun finding out which key goes to each of the 12 locked boxes.... good times. Could have been much better, disappointing room. read more

Our group of four chose to solve the room, The Collector. Luke was our game master and he did a phenomenal job, and it's thanks to him we were able to solve the hardest room with just 3 minutes left! He added some special touches that not only made the experience so much more realist (had a few heart attacks personally) but also exciting to the whole family! Had a group of 20 this past Saturday. Paradox ppl were willing to work with our schedule and fitting all of us into 2 groups even though it was a couple ppl over the limit. Very friendly staff of Megan, Bryan, Gunnar and TJ gave us bottled water to help cool us off in this summer heat. We did the casino and agent smith rooms and both were very fun and challenging but not impossible. Both groups were able to escape! Only recommendation I would suggest is word-phrase props for group pictures like the other escape the rooms have. A lot of fun and we will definitely be coming back! read more

As a veteran team we of Escape Room enthusiasts we were very disappointed with the Caskwerks room. Our team likes a challenge and looking online i of course went to Groupon but was intrigued by the look of the Caskwerks which did not fall under the groupon discount. I called the business and the person told me that of the three rooms it was their favorite. We went eagerly looked forward to the adventure ahead. First of all, the room looks NOTHING like what you see on the website - especially the page where you book the room. It is so small that our team of 4 barely had enough room to move around. The puzzles themselves were hit or miss with a LOT of miss- we appreciate a good challenge but some of the tasks were not realistic to figure out without requiring hints. Unlike most places, hints here actually remove real game time from your game play so not only are you stuck for awhile but after you concede that you need a hint you then get further penalized by your game play time being literally reduced by several minutes. If you use all 3 hints you will lose almost 10 minute of game play. The game play itself was very linear which means that you have only one thing to work on at a time so half the team has nothing to do while one or two other members look on. Without trying to give anything away- there is no BIG moment that gets the adrenaline going- its just progresses from lock to lock until you get to the end- zero payoff. I would say that a couple of the puzzles were interesting in design but for the cost and frustration i would recommend any number of other companies before Paradox. Sad because its so close to our home. read more

The actual escape room was fun however the girl working seemed like she didn't want to be there and disliked her job. When we first were let into the escape room she practically told us how to get started on finding the first clue, then when we asked for a clue she had no idea where in the puzzle we were. I was under the assumption we were being monitored but she kept having to ask what clues we had already found so we could get the one clue we asked for. After that we pretty much figured out the room and got out. She didn't stop the clock and it took her a while to come out and greet us. It seemed like she wasn't even paying attention to our room at all. This is by far the worst escape room we have been to based alone on the personality of staff. read more

We had a team of 5. And we did the casino room it was lots of fun clues were challenging but not impossible, all the clues seamed to flow in to each other very well.room was set up nicely. If your looking for a non-linear type of escape room. This is the place for you! If you didn't know there were different types of escapes, I was right there with you! Google it and read about them! We did casino heist and it was definitely tricky. You need to be able to think outside the box a lot and not expect things to go in 100% order. We had a couple issues with our escape but after speaking with management we were able to resolve our issue(s) so that we all were happy. Thanks Paradox for making it right. Absolutely amazing experience! Took my daughter and 11 of her closest friends here for her 13th birthday party. They did The Collector (serial killer) room. My friend and I were able to watch from the control room. Seriously the most entertaining hour of my life. The employee even told me to bang on the wall and door to scare the heck out of the girls. The staff was friendly and I actually booked the Bunker Room for a Sunday and arrived on a Saturday(my mistake). They were flexible and allowed us the Casino room because the Bunker was under construction. There was a total of 6 of us and after watching the video in the beginning of what the rules were and what we were suppose to do, we solved the Casino room in 29 minutes only using 1 out of the 3 or 4 available clues. It was easy compared to the other room I have tried in the past. After entering the 2nd room in the casino theme, there was nothing really to solve, I would suggest to the owner to at least add 1 or 2 more elements to the game, especially in the final room. read more

One of the worst escape rooms out of the 160+ I've played across the country. Save your money and skip The Collector and Paradox Escape Room. No response from owners after feedback was provided. This was my 165th escape room. I played with my Fiance and friend and together we have over 300 rooms of experience. We all left the room extremely unsatisfied agreeing it was one of the worst escape room experiences we've had. The room and experience were both extremely sloppy. There appeared to multiple broken puzzles which were replaced with random things thrown together. The entire game walk through/reset manual was also left in the room which we thought was a clue and began to read before the game master came in and removed it. One of the boxes was even left unlocked. The puzzles were not very enjoyable to solve as they did not link back to the story or follow a logic based flow, but were rather random puzzles in random orders. We frequently asked ourselves, "what are we doing again, what is the end goal?". After using all 3 clues we made it to the last step but ran out of time before exiting. The game master came into the room and explained a few areas we got hung up on frequently stating "I've only seen a few people actually solve this puzzle on their own". This is a red flag for bad puzzle design. It should be tough but achievable, not random and farfetched. We were originally looking forward to playing this room on a recommendation from a friend that had a good experience playing about a year ago, but it appears that many puzzles/flow/logic of the game have changed since then, or have broken and not been repaired. We left unsatisfied and extremely disappointed. Especially after not receiving a response after expressing our concerns. read more

We came in with a group of three and were paired with others, so our group was eight people. I have never done an escape room before but the video up front explained it well and the owners were super friendly and answered any questions. Once inside our whole group came together to problem solve and we got out just in time. I have to say it was a fun new experience. As a result my finance and I are planning on booking a private event prior to our wedding for out of town guest as something fun to do. I am really looking forward to trying out another one of their rooms since the first one was so well done! It was a great time and the location, south of downtown Gilbert offers lots of good places to eat/drink before or after. I went here for my birthday this year after my sister told me about how much fun her husband and her had doing it on a date night. When I went they had two rooms but were in the process of opening a third room. If you are a small group you can join another group. We were 4 so we did a room by ourselves but my sister and her husband joined another group and had a blast. It's definitely hard but a lot of fun. They told us that some groups actually dress up especially for their casino room. We finished with a few minutes to spare. If you go on sundays there is a discount. Also if you check in online you get a free clue. It was a lot of fun read more

We just went to this escape room with 4 people in our group and it was amazing! We went to other escape rooms as well but this one was our favorite. We tried The Collector. I would definitely recommend going with a bigger group because this was the hardest room! We were the first group to try this room(literally finished the room two minutes before we showed up) and although we did not make it, the two guys running the room were very helpful with guiding us.
