The arena is decent and the obstacles are well constructed. It's often very hot and stuffy in there, so pack water and electrolyte solution = 3 stars The rental gear is pretty worn and the rifles often jam or don't fire, resulting in multiple swap-outs. Can't complain too much since it's only $15 to add a rental package online ($18 in-person, which is annoying). How about raise it to $20 flat and get some new gear that works reliably = 2 stars The Pro Shop has a good selection of guns and accessories at fair prices compared to online Airsoft retailers. The knowledge of the salespeople however, isn't as good. I get better answers from AI on my phone while standing at the counter. The online reservation system is AWFUL!!! The website is difficult to navigate unless you read by picture. Looks more like multiple flyers glued to a screen that have hidden links in some, but not others. When you select a date, time, and location you end up with the right date and location, but varying times. I booked for 2 people for the 12pm - 4pm session and ended up with one at 12pm and the other @ 4:30pm. = 1 star The staff is friendly and generally helpful in getting issues worked out. That definitely helps, but with all of the online reservation stuff that has to be un-FUBARed, it takes away from the experience and play time. I'm not a web designer, but with most people using technology to purchase goods, services, and experiences, you'd think they'd do some market research to gather feedback on how to build a user-friendly website. We haven't tried any of the other Airsoft locations in Phoenix, but after our three (3) past experiences, I'm ready to move on from VIP Airsoft. ****DONT BOTHER. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND WASTE OF MONEY/TIME**** We had four adults in our group to spend a few hours playing airsoft the other day. Not our first time playing so was aware that there is always a hoard of un experienced kids that tend to play. Unfortunately, the "referees" who were tasked with running the games could not figure out how to do math or get semi even teams NOR could they look at the size of the players to figure out how to split the game into two even/fair teams. I provided feedback to both referees after the first game resulted in me leaving the arena after 5 minutes because none of the kids would leave the spawn area leaving me to walk around, sweating and almost accidentally shooting my teammates. I also spoke to the owner and a kid manning the front desk...nothing. In fact the kid at the front desk decided it was a good idea to just argue with me and say that getting a fair/even game is hard....wth!! Anyways, after 3 attempts at playing but not completing a full game, we decided to leave. I stopped by the counter on the way out after seeing someone with shirt that said manager on it. Think his name was Justin. I shared my concerns only to be met with "You should've told me earlier and I could've done something". WTF!!!!? I told FOUR people. He retorted back that he basically didn't believe me and I should sought help from him even though I didn't know he existed AND I told the owner. Then he says, "What do you want from me now?" I was at a complete loss as that is not how I would expect ANY manager to act in a customer facing role. Don't bother spending the money or time at this place. PS. I've had a chance to read the other responses to negative reviews of this place and want to make sure it is stated clearly before you try to deflect responsibility and blame us. No one in my party was flagged for violating rules, we were not asked to leave a game or the facility, we were respectful to both players and staff, we made a reservation, we were timely, and we were proactive in giving feedback to recover the experience. read more

I played on a weeknight recently. I was a bit concerned because I showed up and nobody was parked out front. It turned out that there were only 4 other players that day, plus me. This may sound like a bum deal, but it was actually a blast! We had the whole place to ourselves, which is arguably way more fun than going when it's packed. Because there were only a few of us, we could pick our game mode, choose (and switch) sides, pick the music, choose to play in the dark, and just generally have it our way. If you had a bad experience playing when there are a ton of people, try going on a weeknight. It might change your mind! read more

Seems like a decently fun place to play...but if you're there for supplies, plan on being ignored. We only ever come to refill our CO2 paintball tanks, and every time it take 30 minutes to an hour TO BE ATTENDED. No matter what time of day we come, there's a massive crowd of kids waiting to be checked in, and they get priority. Not until the entire room empties do they help you. I will say- despite being in high demand, the workers are patient and calm. I would've been stressed with so many people needing help but they kept cool. They're polite and friendly once it's (finally) your turn. The actual filling process is just a few minutes and decently priced. Just plan on a lot of time for a simple job. read more

Decided to finally try the gilbert location, save your money and go to the phoenix one, it is worth the drive. The refs come off as power trippy and preachy compared to the chill refs at the phoenix location. Plus the lighting is horrible, I have a tinted helmet so I couldnt see anything in the staging area. The arena itself is amazing but not worth the drive and does not make up for the mid refs. read more

We were turned away for "being too full" with no mention or notice of anything on the website saying they could be "too full". Team with "holosquadren" patches constantly broke rules and over shot my son making him leave the arena crying with welts all over his body. Good place to play indoors. The field layout was interesting with a combination of long hallways and some close quarter areas. The AC was adequate on a hot 104 degree day. Our group was sweating donkey balls the entire time. We ran a lot and tried to get to the entire field so we knew the angles better. Some player attitude but nothing I couldn't ignore. Mostly excitable youngins that don't understand social etiquette. There were a handful of whiners played the day we were there. I've played paintball back when it became popular in the early 2000's. Whining happened then too. So, I guess that's normal. The staff was good. The refs paid attention to the games from outside of the arena. They called out a few bad apples to correct their on-field playing mistakes. The equipment was decent and the staff addressed any issues quickly so players could get back on the field to play. read more

Don't go here unless you like getting bossed around by the refs. The arena itself is pretty nice and so are the front desk people. The refs have some sort of ego towards getting people in trouble for things that could easily be taken care of with a simple reminder. "Flash" sat me out the last game for tossing some bbs at my friends and accidentally hitting a fan that was on the ground. There were also NEVER any rules about throwing bbs. It's a nice sized arena for being indoors, the equipment you can rent is pretty decent and the prices are low. The staff is not really focused on customer service and they don't really explain anything to you so if you mess up you get yelled at, which sucks for first timers but that's reflected in the rating, even the manager doesn't seem to care about the way the employees treat customers so, all in all, it's about a 3 star, I'll spend the extra cash elsewhere so I can get treated like a human. read more

Word of caution, make sure you call ahead and verify there is no peewee watch during the time you want to play. During peewee matches they close off half of the arena, but they still charge full price for the remaining half. No effort was made to balance the arena in this configuration, so all of the matches are unplayable. (And even if they were balanced, you're still not getting the full space you're paying for) If you have access to the entire arena, it's a fun trip, if a little expensive. If you see the older blonde lady that many of the other reviews have mentioned working, she's very grumpy and rude, but I think she's an owner or at least manager. So, it's a 5 star place when there is no peewee and grumpy lady isn't there. It's a 1 star place if either of those things are present. I guess that averages to 3 read more

the rules took a hour to explain in a 4 hour session, also we bought both sessions and and we only played 2 games and we weren't refunded for the one that didn't start yet, we went with a party and a party member that bought bbs previous and they weren't allowed, we had a riot shield where the size requirement wasn't in the website, out of our party of 6 we were put with the advance party group because 2 of us have been there more than 3 times and then we were offered to split the group up, and we were monitoring us the whole time and calling us out on the walkie-talkie the whole time we were there and we don't have the refs names but they were working on 4/27/2024 during the 12:00 - 4:00 session i can't explain how displeased i was with this arena i will never return read more

Now I am a frequent airsofter here and I have about seen it all. Everything is amazing for a first time airsofter or birthday party, except referees. Some referees here are amazing, but some don't care. They play on their phones as kids literally screamed "stop I'm scared!" At that point everyone left the arena but the referee didn't notice, and even once told, he didn't change teams at all, resulting in 4 hours of trapping the other team in spawn. Also there's a grumpy lady at the front but just learn to ignore the criticism. I know above seems harsh, but on most days the field is great. Most referees love the sport and communicate with the players on a friendly basis(beyond their jobs). For anyone hoping for the best day possible, hope for Tristen the referee, and for ANY further purchases for airsoft such as a personal gun, talk to front desk Mason. These are two very friendly employees happy to help. Though there are more that I just don't know by name! Lastly, SAFETY IS A MAJOR PRIORITY!!! I love Wild West Paintball but their holes in the nets allowing paintballs to fly through and hit you in the relax area makes VIP a 6/5 stars on safety So I would highly recommend this place, don't let my words of warning spook you, it would just save me time to put out the few bad things rather then the many good things. When we arrived with our party, the owner was working at the counter and was very unfriendly during the check-in process. We weren't notified of outside food being brought in until the day of the party, when we had made other arrangements due to a severe food allergy. I spoke to the owner regarding this, as we had a custom cake, and she was unbelievably unwilling to work with us on this issue. The only resolution we had was to buy her sub-par pizza and/or pay an additional $17 per child and STILL wouldn't be allowed to bring in the custom cake. The party room was also quite filthy. Given our experience and the price we paid per player, we would never host an event there again. read more

We had my son's 13th birthday party here and the staff was phenomenal. The owner was overly gracious to my daughter who was observing and Carter was the most amazing party host. He was so patient to explain the rule and friendly reminders of them for all the boys who were first timers. My son was elated and the male adults enjoyed it as well. My only complaint is it's a bunch of kids playing so several kids are opposed to following the rules and it so it makes it a little difficult to feel competitive. This was the feedback from the 11 boys I took there. There were a couple people from the other team using full auto mode as well as not taking a "respond" when they were hit. read more

This place is terrible, I bought a battery for my airsoft gun and plugged it in with the correct charger and voltage, when I came back to it it had exploded and trashed. When I called them asking if they could replace it they said they did not offer returns on batteries. I would expect a replacement or a refund for faulty equipment but that's apparently not in their budget. read more

First time playing airsoft, came in with a friend of mine and rocked hard from 4-8pm for $50 (included rental gun/mask, admission and 4000 BBs)... Tons of fun - though you can really rack up the battle scars/welts after a couple of games. It does get hot in there running around with adrenaline pumping but it's bearable and based on how hard you go.. The variety of game types and rules was great as we frequently switched it up: Team deathmatch, medic, briefcase search and destroy...and at night we played in the dark: prison break, zombies.. Would suggest eating before/after as the food options are candy/soda/pizza/pretzels... read more
