There is something about Bacalar specially at this place that makes you feel you are experiencing something unique. The road to the location in the middle of the jungle makes it more authentic and the name Bakhalar garden & lagoon gives you a pretty good idea of the mayan-contemporanean concept they want to provide. The view is out of a post card! The service from the owners is outstanding (the whole staff in general) but they make you feel like a VIP. This is a one time experience and if you are thinking about getting married I strongly suggest to check them out. I have many friends spread out, therefore I have attended many weddings in many countries (Paris, Cannes, Milan, Santorini, Las vegas, Oaxaca, etc) and this place is in my top 3 for sure. I went two days before the event to check the place out and the owners let us swim and enjoy the view.

This hotel was really nice. Upgraded to a junior suite for 1 night for under $50 usd…read more It had a sitting area, the room looked over the pool area and the sleep space was very roomy. Marble floors in the room and and in the walls of the bathroom. I'm very pleased with this find.
