When we arrived we were seated at the front and invited to discuss what we want out of our massage today and if there is anything they should know- like a mini consultation. And shortly after we were guided to a cute bathroom with our personalized scrubbing salt to exfoliate from the neck down- and this was an amazing experience to cleanse our bodies and our mind. When we hopped onto the massage table all fresh and clean we were ready to receive the experience fully. We got the botica massage which includes scalp massage, firm pressure for shoulder neck area, hot stone, relaxing leg massage and reflexology. And what an incredible treat; every aspect of the client experience shows deep intention for healing and care in this space. We were awaken from the massage from the beautiful sounds of a sound bowl. Just wow! I will be returning as often as possible for the rest of my trip and would highly recommend this gem! By the way, location wise, when you see casa sofia you are at the right plaza - botica is on first level, top right corner (second door from the last on the right hand side) curtains are drawn when they are in session with clients. Appointment wise the best thing is to schedule a time via WhatsApp. See the WhatsApp phone number I uploaded as an image that's the right number to use to make appt.

Easy to schedule and they are super accommodating with changes and respond quickly via WhatsApp. Three friends went as well during our stay and the unanimous comment was "how was that massage so good?!?" They mix up a little salt scrub, let you choose your oil scent and direct you to shower and scrub down before settling in on the table.

The facilities…read moreare not only beautiful, but functional with a complete hydrotherapy area on the male and female sides. Take your pick or do them all: Two saunas (warm and hot), cold room with ice to cool off your body, steam room, three jacuzzis (cold, warm, hot), cold showers. There are an abundance of staff and treatment rooms. I never had an issue getting an appointment. The procedure at Rock Spa was a bit different than what I have experienced at other spas. I checked in at the desk outside the spa and got a little ticket describing my service. On my first visit I filled out a questionnaire detailing the type of massage I wanted. I then had to go to the the second desk in the spa where I got my locker key. A robe and perfectly sized flip flops were in the locker. What was different about this spa was that you did not have free reign to enjoy the facilities. You needed to keep track of that little ticket and give it to one of the attendants. An attendant would then take you on your hydrotherapy journey. They would make sure you spent the appropriate amount of time in each room and got to your service on time. All of the attendants were lovely and it was nice to have someone "take care of you" but I am more of a free reign type of person. I would prefer to wander at my own pace. After the hydrotherapy journey, the attendant puts a warm compress on your shoulders and walks you to the sumptuous waiting room. The waiting room looks like a sultan's palace. There were comfortable chairs, sofas, and a small settee with different teas (including passion fruit, my favorite), nuts, and fruit to enjoy before or after your service. So how were the services? As with any place it really depends on who you get. My first service was an 80 minute deep tissue massage. After filling out the questionnaire at the front desk and being asked by the masseuse what areas she wanted me to concentrate on, I was given a pleasant, relaxing, generic massage. It was not terrible, except for the fact that the masseuse ignored the areas I asked her to work on. When you leave you are given a quick survey. If you do not check that your service was "excellent" ( I checked "Good"), then a manager will immediately come out to talk to you. Because I was not completely satisfied I was given 25 minutes free for my next service. My next massage with Gustavo was much better! I also got an 80 minute facial. There are so many facials available that it was hard to choose which one to get. I went with so the facial could be customized for my skin. The technician slathered a bunch of stuff in my skin and massaged a lot with a little roller. It was relaxing but I am not sure if it did anything good for my skin. There were no extractions. The only facial that comes with extractions is the Purifying Facial. The facilities (and attendants)at Rock Spa were definitely a 5+. The services were very good but I don't think they matched that level. I was however, truly impressed with the Spa management's commitment to excellence. I have rarely seen any business take feedback so seriously . It was greatly appreciated!

On my first visit, I arrived early and forgot my bathing suit. They gave me a throw away suit so I could use the hydra therapy area. I used the cold/ice therapy room which was very refreshing. There was a sauna and steam room which I didn't go in to. They had 3 jacuzzi tubs with temperatures from cold to hot. I did use those. I was then led to my massage. I had a deep tissue which was incredible. I went a 2nd time for a massage and facial and again was not disappointed. If you're at this resort you must go to this spa.
