Emily's work has kept me functional for my baby, and I know it will have long-term benefits for my postpartum body and nervous system. I started seeing Emily after being cleared following my C-section. Everything hurt. My body was out of alignment, my wrists were inflamed, and I was carrying so much tension. Holding my baby was difficult and painful. I don't normally get bodywork, but I made a commitment to taking care of myself so I could be the best version for my child. Was in Playa for a little over a week and had taken my road bike with me. My first day out was after a rain and I leaned in a bit too much going around a circle on a wet slick bike trail and the bike came out from under me. What a gem to have discovered in the Playa Del Carmen area!! I was in desperate need for a good massage and a massage therapist that knew what they are doing. We came into town last night from the New England area where we got blasted with a great deal of white fluffy powder, well one must play in that white fluffy powder!! I knew I'd only be in Playa del Carmen for a few days, and after a physically strenuous and emotionally draining few weeks, I knew that I wanted and needed some bodywork. The first thing that impressed me about Emily was that she literally has dozens of reviews and every single review is five stars, which I don't know if I've ever seen. I then read through her website and was even more impressed to see how many different types of degrees she has related to healing, so I contacted her and booked a two hour appointment. Her workspace is comfortable, comforting and inviting. Emily gave me two hours of the best bodywork I've ever had. It's always been my belief that the most important trait to make someone a great healer; Actually, the most important trait that makes someone great at almost anything is not education and experience (which I believe is likely the second most important characteristic that makes someone great at what they do and Emily has years and degrees of background and experience), but is actually CARING about what you are doing. I get different types of body work done frequently, and have for a number of years. I have done so all over the world and with many different practitioners. It's with no nonsense the I straight up tell you that Emily is the next level of practitioner. I sequestered L5 S1, among other injuries and frequently wake up in pain and sustain it through large parts of the day. After a thorough evaluation Emily started to work on me and the amount of improvement I've received from just one session is almost unbelievable. It's about two weeks with very little, if any at all back pain. I feel younger and happier. She gave me some tips and exercises to do when I get back home and was overall just a wealth of knowledge.
