What a thrill!!! We were in town this past weekend while on a cruise and wanted to do parasailing for the first time. To describe the sensation you feel while in the air, there isn't enough words....but I will say AMAZING. The boat is modern and new. While on your way to the parasailing point, you can relax and enjoy the breeze, the sun, and the blue water. They also play great music on the boat. The staff was very nice. Our guide cracked some jokes that helped me get my nerves down. We decided to purchase the pictures package and I'm glad we did because they captured great pictures of this moment. If you've never done it...I'd say to do it. The crew was friendly and I'm happy we did it, but was a little disappointed on a few things which prevented me from giving them a 5 star. - We scheduled the last ride on Friday which was supposed to be from 5:30 - 6:30. I was told it's an hour out and about 8-12 min in air. We were only out on the water for about 30 min total (and wished we stayed out longer (even if we weren't on the parasail). I expected to be out for an entire hour, but felt rushed since we were the only couple on the boat. Had I have known that I would have booked the 4:30 - 5:30 to guarantee the time on the water. I felt like they wanted to hurry back so they can call it a day. It's fairly pricey for only 30 minutes total (this included the ride, pictures and tip) - I can't remember the women's name that checked us in, but she told us that beer and water would be offered during ride (but it wasn't). read more

For only $35 they let you fly, or "sail" for eight to twelve minutes. When I arrived the crew were friendly and relaxed. They provided some simple instruction, but it all seemed too easy to be true. Then, I watched the couple ahead of me go first. They were going to fly together. As I watched them shoot off into the air, I was worried I made a mistake. It looked scary. What if you fall into the water, or worse, what if you get disconnected and sail off into the island? A thousand other possible scenarios ran through my mind. When they returned, the guests looked happy. They crew told me to stick on the harness and walk to the top of the boat landing. In less than 60 seconds (literally), I was up on the landing and he was saying "goodbye!" It was so effortless and relaxing -- complete opposite of what I expected. The take-off was so gentle, as was the ascent into the air. When you reached the peak, you just floated there like a cloud. It was so easy, in fact, that I had my hands off the harness in no time to take pictures and wave to the video camera. The crew members said I could flip myself upside down, but I opted to save that for next time -- I have to have something to look forward to, right!? As I soared, I witness a breathtaking view of Key West from overhead. I watched sail boats travel by, as well as big cruise ships. Jet skiers zoomed off in the distance. I also had the distant company of other parasailers who provided some color burst in the skyline. From the air, you could see the beautiful green and blue water, as well as sand bars and the coral reefs. Before I returned to the boat, the crew dipped my feet in the water several times. They then reeled me in for a smooth landing. For a small fee, the crew filmed my entire journey, and took still photographs. Check out the footage below. Our parasailing is just by accident. When we were at the most southern pointe, I called them and Linda answered the phone with a cheerful voice! This is a good sign! The ticket is 60 dollars per person. There was a slight wait but when we saw the ship, we were relieved. Two handsome boys were helping people getting off the boat. Another good sign, right? The sail was beautiful! The colorful key west coastal waters dotted with colorful parachutes. We ordered the go pro package which was at a holiday special for 60 dollars. The took off and the sail was memorable! We absolutely enjoyed it! Great activity and cheerful crew! Highly recommend this place since we need to keep Chris with this fun job instead of a real world one where dog eats dog. Here all he needs to be aware of is the sharks. Happy new year! read more

It was an good parasailing adventure.. it was the first time for my wife and she enjoyed it... there were about 10 of us on that particular ride and all of us were doing a tandem... its lot more fun doing a tandem.. They ask you before you get off, if you want to get wet.. We just asked for our feet and as requested we only got our feet wet.. it was a good 10 to 12 minutes in the air.. They take you really high... If you are going in the summer, get lots of sun screen and a hat/cap.. Since after your adventure you have to wait for everyone in the boat to finish theirs.. So your pretty much sitting in the sun the remaining time.... They take pictures for you.. and give you a CD.. the pictures are great.. but since we were all in tandem they charged us 40$ and said that it did not depend on number of people.. I had previously read on yelp that it was only 20$.. but I guess they just added the extra 20$ since everyone was doing a tandem and there was no one doing an individual one.. So one star knocked off... There are a lot of parasailing companies out there.. So you can choose from any.. Pretty much everyone offers the same adventure.. read more

Seriously amazing time! We were on a cruise and wanted to book parasailing on our own. So glad we did. It was my second time but first time for my family. The service was spectacular! The crew was friendly and accommodating. They were funny and had great energy! They even had beer, water, and shots to pass around (Alcohol is given after the experience.) Juice for the kids. They also had great music playing! My family had an amazing time! We got our memories on camera. They offer to take pictures and video at cost but so worth it. We got the picture package that was downloaded on our phone right there on the boat. I would highly recommend this company. You also have option to get wet or stay dry. Of course we chose to get wet. I paid for my two daughters a parasail trip with parawest. I do not believe I have seen them this pumped about an event since their One Direction concert. It is all they were talking about. BEWARE!! False advertisers, with bad customer service. Came out for a trip to Miami, stopped by Keywest, and was robbed! Found a Groupon deal and was treated like dirt. Only wants "full paying" customers and made up a bunch of restrictions that had nothing written on their fine print. Was told that grouponers can only leave at 6pm, so I talked to Groupon, thought it was resolved but once I arrived, was told I did not make any reservations and to be on standby for any other "full paying" customers. Kept referred to as "Grouponers" and felt uncomfortable and unwelcomed. Who wants to do business with them after that?? Thanks for making our trip one we didn't want to remember! read more

I don't get the bad reviews, my friend and I had a most excellent parasailing trip. If you never done parasailing---what are you waiting for??? It's extremely peaceful to literally float in the sky above the turquoise sea and the occasional sailboat. It by far is the best way to see ALL of key west in 10 minutes. The staff was friendly and asked if we wanted to get wet and followed our wishes. The staff offered the 20 dollar CD/photo taking but remained polite and friendly when we declined. You can easily ask another passenger on the boat to take pictures for free. A few tips---go tandem as it's more fun to be with someone in the sky, do ask to get your feet wet---it's thrilling, and shop around/negotiate on price as prices seemed rather arbitrary. read more

The whole experience was awful. they charged extra fees upon check in than agreed upon reservation and finally the boat had an engine issue and the trip was cancelled after wasting 1 precious hour watching the crew desperately trying to fix it. Button of the line: if you really want to enjoy parasailing and have a frustration free experience don't go there. Parawest is the last small parasailing company in Key West. I like small and parasailing is all they do. This isn't a party boat either! No booze, no smoking. They were also recommended by friends here, so it's hard to say no to that! We went with two other couples. I'm terrified of heights so this was a big leap for me. Capt. Alfons and mate Dante were very reassuring. We chose the "wet" option and also the CD of our sail (an extra $40, but I'm never doing this again, so a photo record was required!). Parasailing is a piece of cake. Put on a harness and a life jacket, sit on the stern of the boat, and keep your feet up. Takeoff was a hoot (promptly dropped into the water) and the view was spectacular. You can't tell what Dante's doing on the boat with the camera, but there are surprises in the photo record! The landing was also fun (dunked twice) and arriving on the stern was easy. Yes, I had a panic attack when we were all the way up, but I still enjoyed the experience. Alfons and Dante were great. (Some hotels offer 2 for 1 coupons for Parawest, so ask at your front desk if they do.) read more

On our second full day in Key West we decided to just leave the day open to adventure. After spending the day wandering around we decided to do something fun. We talked to the concierge at the resort. We decided on parasailing because it was fun but also pretty low key. As luck would have it a parasailing trip was going out right then and they had room for us. Our resort struck us a deal and away we went. We easily found Parawest at the dock. They got us on the boat and explained the details of everything. The safety instructions were pretty easy and they got us going right away. Basically (for those who are scared or curious) you just sit on the back of the boat. The parachute lifts you up into the air. You sit in the air enjoying the views for about 15 minutes. They then crank you down and you are back on the boat. That easy. If you want they can dunk you, but that is your choice. It is very relaxing, a great way to see stuff, and is also fun. You are also given the option when you get on board to buy a photo package, GoPro package, or a combo. Personally I don't think the GoPro is worth it, but I would go for the photo package. I won't spoil it for you, but he has a lot of fun taking the photos of you. Plus, in the end you have a TON of photos for like $40. I would totally recommend going for the photo package all the way. The guys running the boat work hard too. This is their living so they bust their butts for you. They recognize that you want as much time in the air and as little time waiting as possible. Given what they have to deal with every day, they are amazingly patient and warm. At the end of the trip they gave us all a beer to celebrate. So happy I decided to try this and we chose a great company. 89/100 read more

Dante and Larry were entertaining and accommodating! Booking over the phone was super easy, they fit us in the same day! My husband and I had fun, the view was amazing, very peaceful while up. And the dip in the water was really fun! (Don't worry, they ask you if you want to be dipped:) You can add on a photo package, Dante takes about 40 photos also using funny props (like a shark biting the parachute rope, etc). My boyfriend and I came into town on a Carnival cruise. We searched on the web for places to parasail and stumbled on this option the morning of our stop. With no reservation, they were able to fit us in to a time slot that fit our schedule and gave us enough time to make it back to our cruise boat. I recommend calling ahead to reserve a spot. The trip was about one hour. We were with three other couples and each pair got equal amount of time in the air. It was nice to socialize with others and watch other pairs go before us (first timers). They had waters and cans of beer, which was nice too. We opted for a photo package which you get on an SD card and we're happy with what they took of us. You can also get a video package, which would have been fun too and something we'd consider for next time. The entire staff was friendly and made the excursion fun for us. They were knowledgeable and you can tell they love being on the water, which is comforting. I had my reservations about this activity since I don't know how to swim (& get scared even with a life vest on), but you can choose to not even touch the water, which they did for us. All in all, it's worth it and seemed to be competitively priced. It was a 10 minute walk from the port. read more

We had a lot of fun parasailing with Parawest. We were a group pf 6 who para-sailed in pairs, they keep you in the air for a long time ~ almost 10 minutes. Everything was safe and smooth, we had no trouble. They even sent a golf cart to pick us up from our resort and drop us back, the cart ride across town added to the fun. My 84-yo granny wanted us to go parasailing during our vacation. She, my aunt, and cousin had all been before; but this was my and my daughter's first time. I'm afraid of heights so I was a bit nervous to do it. Watching the guys do their thing for the other people on our tour put most of my fears at ease. They clearly knew what they were doing and were completely in control. When it was my turn I was nervous to start but loved it up there (as long as I didn't look back for some reason). This was such a special thing to do with my granny, she told me she could sleep while she's up there because it was so relaxing. When my daughter, aunt, and cousin went up I took plenty of pics. As they were being reeled in and they were dunked in the water I requested the captain to leave them there for a bit. He responded "alright" and he did not let me down!! They were in the water for a couple minutes, not once but twice. I was crying from laughing so hard, and my granny was also quite amused. Prior to this my cousin said she would buy all the pics the guys take but after she learned it was my doing they were in the water so long she said that was no longer an option. Let me tell you, it was totally worth the price I had to pay for all those pics!! My only negative is that they don't have the "get high" logo on tank tops or I would've bought one for sure.
