We came here for the Hunter's Ball and had a good time, but I was a little disappointed to learn that it was going to be a DJ, instead of a live band. Had some drinks, played some pool, and entered the gun raffle. They have a great dance floor, but there weren't too many single guys to dance with by 9PM...and I asked a lot of guys if they could dance, and they looked like deer in headlights...so we ended up leaving to hit another dancehall. I think there was a big group having a birthday party, so it was a lot of people, but not a lot of dancers. Latino musicnight last night was a true disappointment. Owner/DJ/@pardners stating that something "isn't racist" does not negate the intent or the impact it may have had. Repeating that it wasn't racist and defending that behavior doesn't make it acceptable -- it only serves to dismiss legitimate concerns and brush them aside. By definition, racism involves treating someone unfairly, excluding, harassing, or demeaning them based on their race or ethnicity. When the DJ used the phrase "your people," it was clearly exclusionary. When he said, "If I only play Latino music, then the others will leave," it positioned our presence as a problem and created a sense of unwelcome. The situation escalated further when our group was asked to leave -- not for being disruptive, but simply for disagreeing with the music -- while the DJ referred to us as "you and your fucking people." That is not only unprofessional, but also deeply offensive and humiliating. Even your comment about "staying in your own lane" implies exclusion. Why? Because we voiced our disagreement? Because we stood up for ourselves and asked to celebrate Latino culture on a night that was specifically promoted as Latino Night? You've suggested this issue only occurred because your regular DJ wasn't present, but this behavior reflects a broader, ongoing pattern. Regardless of who was in the DJ booth, the treatment of that group was inappropriate and inexcusable. Defending it -- and attempting to shift the narrative -- is deeply disappointing. And respectfully, claiming that you used your own money to promote Latino Night in an attempt to gain sympathy is out of touch. You own a large, well-established club. Investing in the promotion of your own events is a business expense -- not a personal sacrifice. If you'r going to promote a cultural night, you have a responsibility to respect and honor the community you're representing. read more

A large group of us came to Pardner's during a work trip. I've been on a Saturday before and had a lot of fun, but I planned poorly during this work trip by bringing everyone out on a Thursday with the hopes of showing our out-of-towners what a dance hall was like. Their Thursdays are karaoke only, which is fun if that's your thing, but I wish I'd realized there wasn't really going to be any regular music or dancing at all. In hindsight, I would've brought my team on another day or to a different dance hall! The bartenders were very kind, but otherwise our group didn't feel very welcome and didn't get to dance as we had hoped. read more

Pardners is a typical texas Honkytonk. Smoking is allowed. Fun older crowd. Jukebox and karaoke. Small dance floor, friendly bartenders and the owner/manager is really nice. Prices are more than reasonable. They have a good selection of chips to snack on. Warpath pizza Nextdoor if you get hungry. Occasionally a tamale guy stops in and you can buy fresh hot tamales. They're real good! Sometimes girls come in selling roses and that's always a bonus to me. . If you don't mind smoke and occasional bad singing (LOL) this is the place for you. read more

We came into town for a girls weekend for a birthday celebration. We went to this bar and they called last call very early, like 10:30PM. So I get in line to get my second drink of the evening before they close. They serve everyone in line ahead of me, who is clearly locals and sits to BS with the bartender. One of the waitresses even goes to the table right next to me where I'm standing in line and takes the drink order for the man sitting down and brings him his drink. I get to the front and the manager is talking to the bartender. She looks at me and scowls, whispers to the bartender after I give a friendly smile. The bartender looks at me and says "sorry, we aren't serving alcohol anymore." I explain she literally served every other person in line except me. She says "that's what my manager just told me." This bartender was rude af both times I approached the bar and clearly the locals do not like visitors bringing income into their city. Partners is a club definitely not what I call a bar but it's an awesome place to go. You like to dance it's got the floor for it. Good music friendly people. There is a wonderful little barbecue Barn right beside it has really good food they've got the bacon wrapped jalapenos with cream cheese and they are big also their barbecue is one of the best around. I do understand that there's a new owner and unfortunately I haven't got to go visit yet. read more

This place is a gem. A gem of a smokin drinkin two steppin line dancin wooden floored all kindsa country bar. It's called "Pardners" for chrissake and it was as glorious as I thought it would be. The minute I clapped eyes on the warning "No Spurs or Knives", my review started to write itself. The people watching alone is worth the $3 price of admission. And then there's the fact that you drink out of mason jars. That the bartendresses have worked there for 24 years. That a man was wearing a denim hawaiian shirt with the sleeves cut off. That I saw rocky mountain jeans. That there was an ancient lady with red lipstick and a perfectly coiffed halo of gray hair puffin on what had to be pall malls or mistys. That between country songs they play top 40s and people try desperately to dance to. That they still have a plug in spuds mckenzie that i wanted to steal. And that apparently, they still accept checks. And for all you crazy check writers... "Hot Checks Are NOT Cool" according to the sign. If you're in the neighborhood, definitely stop by pardners and take in the sights. And then head next door for a cream cheese filled jalapeno wrapped in brisket wrapped in bacon. Thats right. Was a smoking bar now non smoking, but still has the smell if that bothers you. They could get rid of some of the high tables for us short people that don't want to spend time getting up an down to dance. The people and the bands are great and that's the draw here. Absolutely terrible staff here! I dont even know where to begin. I went with a group of friends who I was visiting from out of town to kick off spring break and have a good time dancing. When we got there we were greeted by a lady who was extremely rude to everyone in our group even saying that they had never seen any of us there, not even our friends who live local. Then the owner decided to come join her and was somehow actually worse. He was drooling everywhere uncontrollably and was almost impossible to understand. thats not exaggerating either it was discussing dripping on himself, the floor, and the counter. He made everyone in our group extremely uncomfortable. Also if you think thats bad dont even think about coming here with your family if anyone is under 21. You should have seen how terrible they treated the family behind us. It was absolutely disgusting to see staff members treating a family the way they did. If you are planning here for any reason my best advice is JUST DONT! Even my friends who live locally said they are fed up with this place and the staff and that they will be going somewhere else from now on. Wonderful place for country and western dancing. Wednesday night, retirees night. Great bands, wonderful dancers, and friendly people. No smoking. Our group goes once a month and it's fun! I really want to say that this is the first country bar I've ever been to and the location of the place I first learned how to 2-step and just leave it at that, but I can't. I haven't been everywhere in central Texas, but I am so convinced that Pardners is considered one of the most prime people-watching hot spots. And by people, I mean white country boys (or hicks) dancing terribly out of beat to hip hop from the late 90s, women scantily clad in tacky cow girl attire that seem to only garner attention by dancing and/or making out with each other and old people. Nevertheless, people-watching of this sort is nothing but fun for me. Given the nature of the people-watching, this dance hall/dive bar has no dress code and there's nothing pretentious about this place. As a native Californian accustomed to LA-prices, I found the cover ($4) and bar prices to be extremely cheap. It's also really hard to find at night along Highway 29, so I advise that if you come out, come with someone that knows the area. If your ethnic background does not consist of Caucasian or Hispanic or a mixture of both, you are guaranteed to stand out....which I like. I also hear the place has live music Wednesdays and Fridays. If you're into new experiences and seedy, dive-y places on steroids, Pardners is for you. Ah, if only it were closer to me. read more

Now normally I get most people at " well, instead of disco ball, there is a huge disco cowboy boot." Not hooked yet? You will be. This is a staple for almost any Highland Lake goers or Burnet/Marble Falls locals. I find it vey hard to resist the call of the random assortment of country to rap to electric slide back to rap to country-- You get the idea. Not that I go there to dance, mind you. I go to watch the amazing moves that I will no doubt try to mimic later in the night. People are friendly, drinks are strong and the music keeps your foot tapping. Could you ask for more? I honestly don't know how this bar even gets good reviews and stars. because if I could I would give this place negative stars. I haven't had a martini in literally years not even joking. And I went last night to have a martini. The bartender stood there looking at my ID for I wanna say a whole minute or 2 like it was fake. I mean why? I used to go into that bar, with my boyfriend, almost everyday with that same bartender. We used to go because it is my boyfriend's favorite bar to go get his usual and shoot some pool while I sip on some drinks and sing karaoke. Anyway, she finally hands me back my ID and I say, "a dirty vodka martini please" and she replies with, "I will serve you water" without reading into it I say ok and go play a game of pool. About 20-30 minutes later I go to ask for the same drink, a dirty vodka martini. She again denies me. And then it dawns on me. She is denying me because of my youthful appearance. When I turned 21 this was the first bar my boyfriend took me to and that is when this actually all started. I have more than once paid full price for a drink that was shorted alcohol. And from the beginning the staff has given me dirty looks for reasons beyond me. I am a fun cheerful person and have been told so by everybody I'm around so I do not understand why I give this bar anymore chances. If you are thinking about going to pardners ask yourself do I really want to go into a place with an unprofessional judge mental staff when I would just like to enjoy a drink in peace after a long day. read more

I really enjoyed my visit to Pardners Night Club. I am not a night club person, nor do I dance but it was a fun experience, to watch some pretty good dancers performing in an authentic Texas dance /bar venue. My husband did not like it because he does not like country music but I loved it. Before 9 pm there are mostly older couples and the music is 1950/60 country. Around 9 pm the older crowd leaves and younger crowd enters and the songs/dancing heats up. There was some type of dance contest at 11:30 but I could not get my husband to stay past around 10. The cover is very inexpensive $3 and the beers were $2.5. The neon lights for various beers hanging up around the dance floor and bar were a hoot. This is mostly a locals area with very few tourist that I could see. There is a dress code but I did not see it enforced. I highly recommend this for a few hours of fun. read more
