She is good at selling herself personally but professionally I'm not impressed. Over priced and doesn't understand customers needs. If it's your money then questions and clarifications should allowed to be asked. She walked away from our design because she felt we micromanaged. Becky's view of micromanaging is asking questions about designs being different from the customers requests in the design. If you don't ask questions you won't hurt her design ego and I'm sure she will do a overpriced good job.

After giving them several of my ideas as far as looks, layout, type of home and genre, I hit them with something I thought was going to scare or detour them from my project...the fact that I'm paralyzed and need a COMPLETELY ACCESSIBLE home! Boy was I wrong! They put me at ease with their knowledge of ADA laws and in describing several past projects they worked on with the same parameters. In a timely manner, they returned back with my DREAM HOME! I was in shock! After just our initial meeting, they drew up plans for something I have always pictured but couldn't put on paper...they did it! I couldn't be any happier with the design they provided. It is a testament to their attention to detail, knowledge and vast experience. After a few SMALL tweaks, we were ready to go. Throughout the building process, Schaub+Srote acted as my general contractor, due to my limited ability. They were at the job site constantly, talking with contractors and overseeing the project was not only done right, but in a timely manner. Throughout the entire build, I was given several updates as to work that was completed and upcoming work to be completed. They were at my disposal, through phone, conference calls, email, texts and even in person. Whenever I wanted to talk to them, they made themselves available. They NEVER made me feel like I was a bother to them or a disruption to their work, but rather a part of my project and the process. Throughout this process, I also worked tirelessly with interior designer, Heather Helms. She had the same level of professionalism, knowledge, experience and pleasant demeanor, as Schaub+Srote. WARNING TO ALL HOMEOWNERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!…read more I would give ZERO stars if I could as we paid Nancy over $2,000 to start the rendering of the interior and exterior of our home on Sept 2, 2025. We had to reach out on Sept 17th to see if any progress had been made. Mind you, this is a virtual design created within an architect program. There is also an app on your phone that produces the same virtual designs, and it will cost you $24.00 for full use of the app. It is called DecAI and it will let you take a photo of your home, room or office then choose the style, color scheme etc. When we did finally receive our first exterior rendering (the only thing they have provided to date), she had painted all of our brick white; we told her in our initial interview that we like the brick and simply wanted to add stone and landscaping. We specifically stated that we do NOT LIKE painted brick. We did not receive another rendering until October 13th. This updated virtual design, still not what we were looking for, began a back and forth with slight changes in the design over the next week. With a day or two lag between each request, this could have been handled much quicker by a phone call, in which we had left messages, but received none in return. On October 21st, my husband and I agreed that this process was now at two months along with zero product as agreed to in our initial contract. Her company policy reads, "commence work on the above project immediately" AND "Services performed by PDBN under this agreement will be conducted in a manner consistent with that level of care and skill ordinarily exercised by members of the profession currently practicing under similar conditions", which we feel was violated solely on the virtual design time that took just shy of 30 days to receive. The email sent on the 21st to Nancy directly was asking for a refund as we felt she/her company did not hold up to her/their end of the contract. It is now, November 3rd, my husband sent an email to Nancy on October 30th following up on our original request from the 21st about discussing a refund. We still have not heard back via phone call or email. Nancy has completely stopped responding to emails and we are now bringing this to the courts as it seems to be our only option. I DO NOT RECOMMEND PAYING ANY FUNDS UP FRONT TO THIS COMPANY, SHE WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND THEN STRING YOU ALONG LIKE THEY ARE "WORKING", AND THEN WHEN YOU GET FED UP WITH THE PROCESS, THEY WILL DISAPPEAR. SIDE NOTE: She is already using our renderings on her website of our house!!! IT IS THE DESIGN THAT I CREATED MYSELF!!!!! Her design was nowhere near this!
