I, like many others here, never thought that I would need to enlist the help of a professional for sleep training. I was convinced that because I read all the baby sleep books and kept my baby on a rigid schedule from pretty much the beginning, he was sleep trained and I could avoid actual sleep training later on. Words can't describe how amazing Kylee has been for us! She's so generous with her knowledge and time and always went above and beyond to coach and reassure. Working with her has really changed our lives. We were pretty much a breaking point, before being recommended to speak to Kylee. We thought we'd lucked in to a baby that naturally knew how to sleep. As that unraveled so did our sanity and energy. At the time our boy was 8 months and would only sleep on or near the boob... I got lucky, my daughter slept through the night until she was 7 months which was great, but then she suddenly stopped. Thinking it was temporary, I started to bring her into to bed with me when she'd wake up. Frequently, this meant going to bed earlier than I wanted. She and I would toss and turn constantly waking each other, and not to mention, I was comfort nursing her all night long. Naps were about an hour and happened when she was tired anytime between 10am and 2pm. Neither of us were getting adequate sleep and the schedule was unpredictable. I always felt like I was running on fumes, but I thought sleep training meant leaving your baby alone to cry all by themselves. We reached out to Kylee In desperation when our 3 1/2 month old daughter entered a sleep regression that had us all in tatters. We are going on Night 4! 7pm to 7am! Its getting even better too, he wakes up still but doesn't cry anymore, he soothes himself back to sleep. It was hard, I couldn't bare to let him cry it out but, Kylee helped us distinguish his cries and once we realized he wasn't in pain, hungry or sad, just mad that he didn't get his own way, I was able to let him work it out for himself. I cannot believe how quick a baby picks up on a new routine if it is consistent.... literally 3/4 days. I am so proud of him at 5.5 months to be able to sleep through the night. Nap times used to be all over the place and now I can plan according to his schedule and its much easier. He has a good 2hr nap in the morning which is always the same and his afternoon naps are shorter and a little more unpredictable as he might be with me at work, and a friends or his grandmas. So he has between 1-1.5hrs. He is happier, and we are happier! We have our evenings again! After a day of playing, it's nice to be able to relax knowing that he is getting some well needed sleep! TLDR; BOOK HER NOW! I'll start by saying my husband was dead against sleep training. So much so that we had to go to couples therapy to finally come to the decision that he was going to read up on sleep training himself and train the baby. Well....those were the three worst days of the baby's life. He screamed his head off, lost his voice and was so crabby. Coming across one of Parenting Made Joyful's behavior webinars on FB was a huge turning point in my parenting lifestyle. And being a part of the membership site, and the FB group was probably the best thing I could have done for my family. My toddler had recently entered a phase where I felt like he was testing me. If I could give more stars, I would! The self guided video lessons have completely changed the way we parent. Kylee has a way of teaching that is both entertaining and educational which my partner and I both found refreshing given the fact that we have a dozen half-read (boring) parenting books. We use her scripts and her tools all day every day and my 3 year old's behavior has done a total 180. Our phones had basically become her personal tv otherwise she would scream and cry and we almost considered getting her her own tablet so we could have our phones back! We were down to about 4 foods she was willing to eat without throwing a fit, she had managed to push bedtime so far off track we had no time left in the evebnings for ourselves and that's just to start! These video lessons made me feel really confident and given me patience with my daughter I didn't have before. And my daughter has responded so well to these changes, which I was afraid wouldn't happen. I thought she would hate me! There are not enough words to describe how thankful we are for Kylee. From the moment we spoke on the phone for the consultation, we knew that she she was the perfect person to help us sleep and nap train our 3 1/2 month old son. I found Kylee after a desperate internet search at 2 am. My 3.5 month old had just learned how to roll over and was spending all night practicing his new skills. Let me start by saying that I was totally skeptical of this whole "sleep training" thing. As the stubborn dad, I was thinking "what can this woman do? Wave a magic wand over my son and he'll sleep?" Well the short answer is yes. From the second Kylee walked in she brought this positive, friendly energy with her. She felt more like a friend I had known for years rather than someone I had just hired to magically make my son sleep. My husband and I, having just become first time parents, were certain we wanted to instill healthy sleep for our baby but were not sure of how to accomplish that with our 3 month old.
