It had been a long day out and about in Beverly Hills, but the boutique visit was relaxing and fun with zero pressure to buy. I sniffed dozens of Henry Jacques' scents, including their incredible crystal spinning tops that are otherworldly in their profiles. Scents I particularly enjoyed - Cascador, La Nuit, No. 11 De Sacha, among others - still linger in my mind, along with two words: "one day." The products at Henry Jacques are certainly an investment. It takes a confident person to wear their stuff - and that's certainly something I aspire to.

The brand…read moreand Henry Jacques Cremona have been making bespoke fragrances for sultans, princes, and celebrities and the ultra wealth since the 70's. While HJ only offers 30 something scents to the public, there are many more exclusives. It's quite the rabbit hole. These are absolutely no expense spared creations not for the initiated. If you have never smelled pure damask rose, you probably won't realize the extraordinary cost that goes into these bottles. Pure rose oil crystalizes, and as such, many of the HJ oils crystalize because they're putting 100's of dollars of pure rose in them. HJ uses real oud in their oud perfumes. These aren't your designer perfumes or 'niche' houses where 3-5 dollars of ingredients go into your 300 dollar bottle. Very few brands can field this quality level of raw materials. The service is spectacular and not at all pretentious. It's very relaxing and therapeutic to spend time in the boutique. The prices are high, yes. But as someone who has smelled 1000s upon 1000s of fragrances, you won't find this level of quality elsewhere. These are 3 dimensional scents.

He also recommended some for my significant other based on their preferences. He talked about how a lot of people think the new hazy blue has a more masculine smell. So knowledgeable. The place was packed when we went. With people at every counter. But he bounced around to everyone and made us all feel welcomed. Who else can handle so many people so well! Silk Bouquet smelled lovely at first but ultimately didn't quite agree with my skin chemistry. To tie the whole sniff & sip concept together, I got the lychee Git drink. It's floral, fruity, and refreshing! The scent staff are knowledgeable and happy to entertain all forms of curiosity. The cafe staff was a different story. This would be a cute spot for a date! You can peruse the gorgeous interior or unwind outdoors on the rooftop. There's even a private restroom, although fair warning: it gets hot and humid inside. Note that street parking can be a challenge.

The setup is familiar where the store extends to the back starting with body/hair/candles and while the fragrances are situated throughout, they have a cool area focusing on their unique scents near the register in the center of the shop, concluding with facial care in the back. Sinks are present for the first and third room. Plenty of associates are on-hand to assist which is typical of the Aesop brand. Speaking of the different fragrances, there are distinct personalities with all of them and I even found a couple of new ones I liked. Although I left with a small cleanser, their sampling is still generous. They don't really do hair samples anymore (and they have changed/discontinued some formulations over the years) but there seem to be plenty of skincare selections available. There is a 2-hour (prior to 6p) parking garage on the same side of the street very close to this Aesop.
