No special occasion just because he was here last week visiting, and he used some bath products I had purchased. He really enjoyed them and when he left I called Maria. I've been to multiple Diptyque boutiques and this Beverly Hills location is consistently the worst experience. Depending on who is there the staff come off as either confused or aloof and vaguely irritated that you're even there when you walk in. Instead of being welcoming or helpful, it feels like you're inconveniencing them by wanting to shop. What's especially uncomfortable is how closely they watch you while you're in the store, like you're about to pocket a candle. I know the store is small but either shop with me or go do something else till I have a question. I've even spoken with the manager, and unfortunately the tone starts at the top. Which is a shame, because the whole point of going to a Diptyque boutique is the experience and service. If that's missing, there's really no reason not to just buy elsewhere (department stores, online, or frankly the gray market). I get that this is Beverly Hills and a tourist-heavy area which isn't the easiest to work but so are many other Diptyque stores, and this is the only one where the service feels this cold and suspicious. Diptyque seems to have lost perspective that people come to the boutique for the service they won't get elsewhere. read more

Horrible customer service. I received a gift and came to exchange it. The manager, Gabriel, wouldn't allow it as the box was opened. The item was not used, the items were in tac, but he said since I opened the gift box to see what was inside I wouldn't be able to even exchange the item. Absolutely ridiculous. So just take your item in the box if you want to know what's inside and ask them to show you in the store. Crazy policy. This is why small businesses go out of business, you are not allowed to open a gift to see the item inside the box lol. I'll stick to Nordstrom for my gifts from now on. read more

I need to update my previous review for Diptyque Beverly Hills only for one reason. Jodi and Allison are no longer there:( Fortunately for me they have been replaced by Gayle (manager/leader) and Lena (Diptyque consultant extraordinaire). When I walked in the other day Lena greeted me and within 5 minutes had pinpointed the exact item I was looking for. How did she do this you ask? First, she took the time to listen to what it was I wanted. Second, she asked me a few quick questions to make sure she knew exactly what I would be satisfied with. I was especially pleased that she was concerned that I honestly wanted the eaux de parfum (I did) and not the eaux de toilette (I didn't). She was then able to offer me exactly what it would take to cause my wife to once again think I was a genius:) I'm always amazed at how lucky I seem to be whenever I walk into this store. But of course it really isn't luck at all. It's just that Diptyque Beverly Hills always seems to be staffed with knowledgeable, caring people. This is because there is a manager who understands what it takes to hire, train and motivate the right people. I never liked scented candles until I was introduced to Diptyque. But of course Diptyque isn't just about scented candles. It's about fragrance. And quality. read more

I LOVE DIPTYQUE! I usually purchase at Nordstrom (gotta love their rewards program), but I was in Beverly Hills, so I decided to make a stop at their super cute boutique. Mayrah gave me a friendly greeting, showed me around the store, and helped me test their fragrances. She was very personable and asked me a lot of questions before she made her recommendations -- which was very appreciated because I feel like a lot of people in customer service don't do that anymore. She really made it feel like I was shopping with a friend! She did a really great job at telling me about the notes of the fragrances and I ended up with a new favorite for myself and then she also showed me a few scents for my partner, as our anniversary is approaching. Diptyque is truely a scent company. It makes scents from candles to Christmas tree ornaments, and a little bit of body and skin care products. Basically, Diptyque makes designer scents. That's right, designer scents, and I think that is an excellent idea, don't you? Diptyque often times are incorporated into a designed home. Many interior designers/ decorators think ahead when it is necessary to make the home smelling good at the same time having a beautiful packaging to go along with the home. Diptyque's scents are very unique and long lasting. Though they are pricey, they are not only worth it, they work out in the end better than buying cheaper products. I love Diptyque and this particular store in BH. The service in this store is top notch. I have been a customer for a while now. If you love to have your home smelling awesome, you should try it. I got great help with fragrance and ended up buying more than I planned but I'm happy with to my purchase, I had to get a purchase anyway to get the birthday candle, but I'm terribly disappointed with the candle I got. I got the baies one and there's literally no throw. I have many smaller candles that have much more throw of their scent. I can only guess they give the oldest ones as birthday candles? read more

I was greeted by a lady named Maria and despite never having opened the candle or used it I was dismissed without any type of justification. This is not going to be some long drawn out review. I first starting buying Diptyque candles when I was living in the Bay Area and then Paris. And their Beverly Hills location is my favorite one in L.A. The staff is friendly and gives excellent recommendations. They know their client's preferences and have a stable of scents at the ready to match any mood or specific taste. I've always enjoyed how high quality their product is. The wax is long burning: You get easily 70+ hours of burning from a standard candle. And the scents range from woody to floral to green all made with the finest oils and essences on the planet. There's nothing like unwinding from a long day and lighting a Diptyque and allowing the rich scent to fill your room. For me, it's almost ritualistic and an act of self care. Aromatherapy is a thing when you've got Diptyque. My favorite scents are Figuier, Mimosa, and Baies for most of the year. And Oud for winter months. These candles are definitely a luxury but worth every cent because of their longevity, quality, and timelessness. And they perfectly set the mood for cozying up on the couch for relaxation or conversation. read more

I walked into this shop a few years ago with the intention of buying a gift for a friend ( which I did ). What I did not expect was that my first experience would become one of so many, sometimes to say hello to the wonderful staff and give my senses a thrill. You can't help noticing the artistry of the displays and be transported, if just for a little while, by the glorious scents. The experience of shopping or browsing in this delightful shop is not just about it's goods but the kindness of it's manager, Maria and the people who work there ( Tim and Gabe to toss out a few names ) who are happy to help you, should you have questions. Let's face it, French candles, perfumes, objets d'art are luxuries and if I want to purchase these items, I want to smell them and touch them and sometimes have a lovely conversation while doing so. The shop offers beautiful gift wrapping and other services and if you find yourself with too much to carry, someone is sure to help you to the 2 hour free parking across the street with your shopping bags. I've been to Diptyque in Beverly Hills so much some sales associates know me by name, so I'm surprised I haven't written a review. Of course, if I've been there that much, I clearly must like the place. I've spent far, far too much money on expensive French candles -- I'm rather ashamed at how much money I've literally burned at Diptyque. But they're really nice candles... usually. Sometimes they've disappointed me by not having good throw (that is, the smell doesn't really carry), and one or two have tunneled (i.e., didn't burn across the surface but just down in a small area, leaving a ring of unmelted wax at the edges). But Diptyque candles are generally top-notch, with beautiful fragrances. Narguilé (Water Pipe or Hookah -- it smells like honeyed tobacco) is probably my favorite of the regular line, along with Bois Ciré (Waxed Wood), which smells like the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland. My all-time favorite is the Berlin candle, which smells like a profusion of linden blossoms. (It's only sold outside its namesake city for one week in April.) I tend to gravitate towards the scents only sold in the boutiques, so I need to go there to get what I want anyway. I also love their fragrances, wearing Eau de Lierre and L'Autre frequently and Eau Lente only on the coldest, wettest L.A. days. The sales associates are always friendly, and I love the warm, eclectic feel of the boutique. Their only real competition? The Diptyque boutique on Larchmont, of course. read more

Just popped in for the free birthday candle I had read about online, and was really impressed. Not only do the products smell INCREDIBLE... But the staff are super sweet. The gal who helped me even threw in a rollerball sample of the scent I chose ("Baies" - go smell it, for real). The free birthday candle is 2.4 oz, which according to their website normally costs $34. I'm really grateful to get to try them out for free, and hope to be back soon. read more

This shop would not let me return an item bought in the store that week, with a receipt, unopened and in perfect condition. Staff seemed annoyed to be dealing with anything that day. They did not indicate anything was a final sale when it was purchased. When you buy on their website, it states that returns can be made, same if you buy at a department store like Nordstrom. I asked for a scent that craved by both men & women since I cherish them both; when the candle was presented to me, there was an instant connection to my nocturnal primal. My room will smell great & totally put me & my guest at ease. The clerk put a few rose fragrance saying 'to level up the massage experience.' How thoughtful! The manager or owner of this store was very rude to my group. Back in January, I came in with 2 other friends and we were helped out by 2 employees. Another group of 3 came in after us. The employees welcomed them in. I was about to make my purchase when the manager/owner, a heavier set white woman came out of the back and proceeded to raise her voice at us that we had to leave because there Can not be that many people in the store, due to Covid. We explained how we arrived before the other customers but she didn't care, the employees didn't say anything either and so we left. I had an amazing experience today with Dylan at Diptyque and need to share. First the store is like a living exquisite gem, with the most beautiful and chic design. It is transporting to just step inside. Every candle with its French label in heavy glass is a work of art. One is invited to smell every original scent and just look around. Today I was so thoughtfully and cheerfully helped by Dylan, I just had to write about it. We discussed the origins of the company and design in general. I'm in heaven the moment I walk through the door. I never understood the appeal of Diptyque until I walked into the Beverly Drive Boutique. First of all Allison and Jodi have just the most amazing presence and warmth. Their knowledge of the brand and enthusiasm. The desire to help the customer goes way above and beyond the regular customer service experience. I love that Allison touches base and lets me know when they have new arrivals or special gifts. She is just so darn sweet. So sad when I miss one of the girls during my visits. My mom is insistent that we go to Beverly Drive whenever she visits from Michigan. She and I both love Do Son and the body care line and are always plotting the next holiday as an excuse to treat each other. . I am dreaming of Kimonanthe right now after falling in love with it at the St. Germain Store in Paris. The fragrance did not initially appeal to me until I tried it 2 or 3 times. Their fragrances grow on you and pleasantly evolve throughout the day. At first it resembles the fragrance of Cepacol throat spray but it transforms into something sensual and lovely. I'm calling the boutique tomorrow to have them hold a bottle for me. The skin and body care line is just to die for sweet subtle lemon, rose, and milk scents without being overpowering. If anything is a staple on my vanity it is products by Diptyque. If you haven't visited the boutique do so. It is something you don't want to miss. Great for gifts in all price ranges. read more
