My neighbor has been obsessing about this place since they opened so I finally checked it out after wrapping up a doc appointment at NM across the street. A+ convenient location, and it's super cute inside. Also, if you download their app on your first visit you get a free pastry with purchase, so I definitely took advantage of that. The pastries are self serve, which is nice because it gives you time to browse. And my germaphobe self is actually okay with it because they give everyone new tongs and everything is. behind glass, so I love that. I got the strawberry croissant as my freebie, which was INCREDIBLE. Literally the best pastry I've ever had (and maybe even the best food I've ever had). Insane. I cannot wait to go try other options. I ordered a small (16 oz) iced blueberry oatmilk matcha, which is one of their seasonal drinks, and that was also delicious. The staff was friendly, the space is cute and large enough for folks to actually sit and hang out a bit if they don't want to get things to-go, and the prices aren't terrible considering what you get and the location. Happy Lemonade Day! Parking: street parking or nearby parking structure. I went to the Evanston location to pick up my Free Med. Lemonade with any purchase through the App. This is the second location in Chicago suburbs I went (Glenview, now Evanston). The location is small and difficult to navigate. This location seemed to have many students Sunday Brunch meet ups and Pickup/To go orders. Cashiers were helpful with answering my questions. Thank you to the employee who answered my questions on how to use tray, obtain napkins. The decor is lovely and bright. I ordered my favorite Chocolate Croissant, which I treat myself to every once in a while. Love Paris Baguette packaging! I'll be back. read more

Yes, it's a concept chain, but still deserves a five for the amazing array of choices, both savory and sweet. I've never gone in there and not found something I wanted. I have to say that I go for the savory more than the sweet; ham and cheese croissant, baguette sandwiches, egg salad with cucumber, pizzetta., etc. AND the lavazza coffee has become my favorite in town. We often pass by the bakery when walking in the area, but we had never gone inside until yesterday. After a long walk, we craved something sweet, so we decided to give it a try. The concept is quite unique... it kind of feels like being in a school cafeteria, but with an amazing selection of pastries. There's so much to choose from! We ended up picking three: something savory, something chocolatey, and a fruity option, and each was absolutely delicious. The place was bustling, but in a really good way; it was filled with people studying, working on their laptops, or chatting with friends. The lively atmosphere and the wonderful aroma of baked goods and coffee made it even more special. We'll definitely be visiting again! read more

Great pastry and cake selections, great welcome promos, friendly staff. Sandwiches and baguettes are a bonus. Coffee is not the best but still decent. It's not overly crowdy & relatively quiet. Wait time is usually under 3 minutes. Make sure you sign up on their app - their welcome promos are pretty generous, including 1 free pastry, $2 off a sandwich, $5 off for pastry+coffee combo, etc. (Can't use at once.) I've stopped by four days in a row. From what I've tried: - blueberry yogurt cake slice tastes great, though I'm not sure it tastes anything related to blueberry. The strawberry silces in the cake layers are fresh. - blueberry cream cheese pastry ($3.99): my favorite so far, fresh and flavorful. - pineapple brulee pastry ($4.99): decent and fresh. - strawberry supreme croissant ($6.29) isn't as fresh as I expected and I probably won't get again. - butter cream bread ($3.29): fresh, though I'd prefer the "bread" be a little softer. - red bean bread: fresh, though again I'd prefer the "bread" be a little softer. The outside part tastes a little bit dry. - caprese baguette ($9.59): fresh. I like it. - coffee is on the sweet side, as well as matcha latte. Price is about average or maybe slightly above - croissants are between $5-6.5. Their pastry selection is relatively large. They do sell out, so if you have specific things you want, make sure you come early enough. Environment is casual, with large windows good lighting. It looks pretty clean though there was one single fly that bothered my cake in one evening. Not sure where it came from. read more

I was so excited to find a Paris Baguette in Evanston as the first time I had their pastries I was blown away by the quality and flavor. However, my experience at this location was not the same. I got 3 pastries including a cinnamon twist, cherry Greek yogurt danish, and the pineapple brûlée. I was extremely disappointed at how hard the cinnamon twist was (I had to put it in the microwave for a few seconds to be able to chew through it so I ended up tossing it). I was very excited for the pineapple brûlée as it was my favorite pastry the last time I had Paris baguette and although it was still pretty good, it did not taste the same as the last one I had. The cherry danish was really good and perfectly balance so that was indeed my favorite this time around. The coffe was also pretty good. Given how great my first experience was with the Paris Baguette in Chicago, I'm hoping this was just a one time bad batch (of the cinnamon twists). Still a little disappointed though as the pastries are not cheap. read more

I've been to other locations but this is my first time trying this new location, and trying their coffee. I got the vanilla cold foam cold brew and it was sadly one of the worst coffees I've ever had. I actually bought two - one for my husband as well. Both drinks were thrown out. The pastries are worth a visit, but I advise staying away from the coffee. read more

It was very difficult to not just buy one of everything but I exercised heroic restraint and only got four things (strawberry lemon croissant, chocolate croissant, coffee bun, and biscoff donut) and they were all exquisite. Love this place. It's a great addition to the pastry world in Chicago. I especially like the cherry or blueberry cream cheese, pastries. Their croissants are very good. I really like the strawberry croissant. The almond raspberry is good too. The very berry pastry is nice if you like fruit. We've tried a number of the cakes and they're all good. Frankly, nothing we've tried was bad. We just of course have our favorites. My Husband is a regular there, picking up treats for us on the weekend. The service is always friendly even at 6 o'clock in the morning when they first open. The decor is very nice and feels very welcoming and clean. I just discovered they opened one in Evanston and I look forward to stopping in to try some of their sandwiches and other things for lunch. The quality of everything is very good. read more

I still visit this café often for the excellent baked goods, and their matcha latte is genuinely impressive--you can tell they use high-quality matcha. However, I'm deducting two stars due to the extremely unreliable internet. For a café near a college campus, stable Wi-Fi is essential. I understand concerns about customers staying all day, but I'd much prefer a clear time limit with strong internet over virtually no internet at all. Paris Baguette markets itself with a French name, but don't be fooled--there's nothing Parisian about margarine-filled pastries. I picked up their Walnut Cream Bread, and the ingredient label was an absolute horror show. Instead of butter and cream, they're using margarine, shortening, and a laundry list of industrial additives. If I'm going to splurge on a pastry, I want real butter, real cream, real flavor--not the cheap substitutes you'd expect from a gas station danish. Calling this "Paris" anything is basically false advertising. France is famous for its butter-forward baking--croissants, brioche, mille-feuille. This was the opposite: heavy, artificial, and flat tasting. It's sad that this chain is spreading worldwide and people think they're getting a quality product when it's really just factory pastries with French branding slapped on. Margarine isn't healthier than butter, and it sure as hell doesn't taste better. Do yourself a favor: skip the gimmick, find a local bakery that actually uses honest ingredients. read more

It's a beautiful design and looking spot. I just expected more value. My family absolutely loves it and it's an automatic must buy for them.

The selection is wide, with cronuts, pastries and croissants greeting you from the display case when you walk in. They also have sandwiches and pre-packed yummies available for carrying out in the refrigerated case. Then, move on to the coffee and dessert counter where many different layer cakes beg you to take them home with you. My favorite is the Mango Cream Cake (seasonal) but the Ganache Cake and Strawberry Cream Cake are equally pleasing, extremely light and not too sweet. You can also get a cold or hot beverage. The cafe is clean and bright, staff are friendly. Cakes are available whole or by the slice. read more

Fantastic experience. Have been there twice already since opening. Everything has been delicious, including the coffee. Having been to Paris, I felt the croissants here etc were quite good. Sen made the visits even better with how he interacted with my elementary aged daughters. They said they want to travel to New York when he returns there, to visit him again. He also knew all of the answers to the questions I had about the pastries, etc. Great leadership there, and great products. Perfect location downtown, across the street from some public tables and chairs. I thought the prices were a good value as well. read more

Wonderful place to visit for an afternoon tea and pastry. A wise variety of pastries , cakes, and breads. The staff is uniformily wonderful. Service is fast. The place is very clean and bright. The food at Paris Baguette is absolutely delicious and satisfying! It location is always neat and clean with ample room for seating and enjoying their foods. Customer service is mostly friendly and courteous. I want to give them a 5 but can't. I have enjoyed 3 sandwiches and 5 pastries. The croissant breakfast sandwich of bacon, egg and cheese was perfect in proportion and taste, and the same for the turkey/avocado and tuna sandwiches... fresh and satisfying. As for the plain croissant, strawberry pistachio bombolone (to die for pistachio cream), strawberry lemon cream croissant, and coffee danish... were all just the right amount of sweet to bread ratio. Not a single complaint about the food. However I do wonder if the staff has been trained regarding health standards and cross contamination. On my first visit, one of the workers was standing behind the counter putting their hair into a ponytail... and I watched as he then tugged and removed hair from his ponytail hands. The second not so good encounter was with a server that first let me stand at the counter while she adjusted containers of liquids in the cupboards ... she had several nose rings and as she took my order inserted her thumb into her nose to adjust them and then proceeded to prepare my order without washing her hands. Sorry but I had to say something (she was the only server at the counter) and I approached the issue as politely and quietly as possible. Unfortunately it upset her so as she rather aggressively tossed a cup and left the area, leaving me and another customer alone for a few minutes until a couple of servers came out to handle to orders. Where are we, when simple sanitary standards are not understood and enforced. I don't think servers should be taking care of their hair and putting their fingers in their nose in front of customers in food areas. Maybe I am old fashioned and the younger generation doesn't care. I think the place is great outside of the small but important exception of personal hygiene in the serving area. I wish them the best of luck and longevity in a space that has seen many come and go in so few years. Next on the list, that Japanese milk bread and egg salad sandwich! read more
