Always a plus when an establishment has street parking. First time trying this place out and prefer this location due to proximity vs. Chgo locations. Everyone commenting it's small and well, it is, but it's also not meant to be eaten there. The lady who took my older seemed over her job. While she wasnt rude, she just seemed distressed... Visited the Evanston location a week ago with my husband, I wish I hadn't because now I can't stop thinking about their INSANELY delicious cookies. We ordered the chocolate chip, peanut butter, Brookie and salted caramel cookie. Not one was a disappointment. They are clearly made with high-quality ingredients. You can taste the brown butter, the cookies are served warm which melt in your mouth. The shop is very cute, love all the neon signs. There was a woman working behind the counter. Food: pretty good and not as gooey or fattening as I thought it would be, but rather warm and chewy with just a hint of a crunch; my kind of texture. Had the strawberry cheese cake cookie (actually a misnomer which is part of the reason for -1 star because it's actually a dried cranberry and white chocolate with no strawberry or cream cheese). Value & ambiance: $2.21 with tax for a classic cookie which is not too high, not too low. Inside was well air conditioned and cool, but lack of seating inside or out was kind of a way of saying, "buy some cookies! Now leave." The chocolate chip cookies were so warm, buttery, soft, moist, and chewy. It was so good and rightfully so because it seemed like a cookie that was freshly made not too long ago. And as I had the bites of chocolate chip cookies, the cold, and creamy vanilla ice cream kicked in and blended with the cookies to make things even better. I thought I had like 2 or 3 scoops of ice cream. It was just that big of an ice-cream sandwich. Wow, it was great! There is no picture because I was too busy eating it. I don't think there was a place inside the establishment where you can sit and enjoy these sweets as the place wasn't that spacious, but I personally think that's understandable. Now as for the pricing, it wasn't very nice. I was on the fence about whether to give a 3 or 4 star because of the pricing but since it did taste great, I think a 4-star review is an appropriate one. My friends and I ordered insomnia for the first time last night since we were craving dessert but didn't want to go anywhere. We ordered a half a dozen cookies and added the deal of the day, three free chocolate chunk cookies, which is a magical deal. We went downstairs to wait for the delivery person and he showed up really fast. He showed up on a bike with the cookies in an insulated pack on his back. Everything was great until we got in the elevator and opened the box. They must have been sideways in the pack because there was a pile of cookies melted together on one side of the box. This is such a little gem in Evanston! They're literally open until 3am and do a final delivery at 2:45am. Cookies are fresh, gooey, and taste delicious. They also offer ice cream and some fixings to go on top. My favorite cookie right now is the s'more. It's Soo good. Just be careful as your hands might get a bit messy from the melted chocolate. I work for a large retail corporation and ordered cookies online on March 5 to be delivered to an event that we were hosting for soon-to-be graduates at Northwestern University. The cookies were scheduled to be delivered today, March 9, at 11:30am. I received a confirmation email upon ordering them and assumed everything was set. When 11:30am rolled around, no cookies were to be seen. 12:00pm... still no cookies. In fact, I never received our delivery order. As if this wasn't frustrating enough, I didn't receive any communication from Insomnia regarding this. When I called to see what happened (and get refunded for the cookies for which I had already paid but never received) I was put on hold and then hung up on. I called back and was informed by an employee that someone "missed their shift" which is why I didn't receive the delivery. I asked if I was ever going to receive any sort of communication about this and the employee simply said, "I don't know." As mentioned in the beginning of this review, I work for a large retail corporation. So, believe me when I say, I get it-- things come up, mistakes happen, etc. and, at the end of the day, some hungry college students missed out on some free cookies-- not a huge deal. What has me leaving this one-star review (zero stars if that were an option) is the complete and utter lack of professionalism regarding this. The fact that it was on me to call Insomnia and investigate what happened is beyond unacceptable. It would be one thing if the employee on the other end of the phone took any sort of responsibility for this (or, GASP, apologized for the mistake) but she showed zero remorse and zero concern. Working for a retailer, I know that this is a situation that should have (at the very least) been escalated to a manager but, nope, instead I received a "unique coupon code" that entitles me to "6 free traditional size cookies with any $6 minimum purchase."
