For a week little kitten was abandoned, and I was giving her food so she can survive. I woke up this morning and checked on kitten , and kitten was attacked by raccoon. So I took kitten to Paris to see if they can do some , but kitten was injured so bad they had to put her to sleep . So i asked if I can get any discount because I found kitten. They said no, and they charged me $147 . I take my cats over there for years, but I'm looking for another Vet . read more

I noticed blood in my cats urine, so I called 2 animal hospitals near me and both said they could not see him for a few days. I called Paris Hill Cat Hospital and was told to bring him right in. After a few tests they found that he had bladder stones. They gave me the option of either a strict diet to try to dissolve the stones or surgery, I chose for the surgery as I hated to see my fur baby in distress when trying to go to the bathroom. I can't express enough on the excellent care that was shown to my cat. His doctor called me after his surgery to tell me how he was doing and she even came in the next day on her day off to check up on him and informed me on his progress, I would like to thank everyone again at Paris Hill on the care the showed for my kitty. read more

I am incredibly disappointed with the level of greed displayed by the staff at Paris Hill Cat Hospital. I brought my cat in for her annual exam and rabies vaccine. When I got there, they had added charges for all sorts of extra tests, and I told them no, just the annual exam and rabies vaccine. The tech then told me that even though I said no, the vet was going to come in and ask me again anyway. Then I also told the vet no to these extra charges, and he pushed again anyway. He then didn't listen when I told him that I wouldn't be going down the road of doing follow up tests -- and then during this same appointment pushed me into scheduling follow up tests. They put my cat through unnecessary stress to have inconclusive results anyway, but so much more importantly -- they didn't listen! I cannot believe how pushy and sanctimonious the vet was during our visit. And what's more is that he had the nerve after all of that to push more tests in a text message to me! It's not my responsibility to pay back the vet school loans of this pushy kid. I originally came to Paris Hill because I wanted a place that listened and respected the owner. What a stark contrast between my first visit and my last! This place will push, they will not take no for an answer, and they will take advantage of you, racking up unnecessary charges on healthy pets. Avoid this horrible place at all costs! read more

After hearing my sisters story I would never bring a beloved pet to this institution that cared more about how much they could make rather than how they could best care for my sisters cat. My sister had been to this office with her cat in the past so decided to bring him back as they were familiar with him. He was not I'll per say and the staff member commented on how he "didnt look sick" but he wasn't eat and my sister was concerned. As it turned out he was constipated and dehydrated. After informing my sister the cost to treat him would be over $1000! My sister unfortunately doesn't have that kind of money and said just that the the tech who then told her that since she could afford to pay that then she should just consider putting her cat down!!! What veterinary office who claims to care for animals suggest to someone they kill their cat because he is constipated!!!! I am discussed that someone could be that heartless. Needless to say my sister became very upset and started to cry. They discussed how much she could afford and they keep her beloved cat for 2 days I believe to "HELP" him. Now remember I said the cat did not look sick going in.....well he went home looking like death. He was extremely dehydrated and couldn't even walk. So for 2 days my sister and mother attempted to get fluids into him but they could get him back and he passed away. The staff and owners of this facility should be ashamed of themselves!!! I took my Cat here on a Urgent Care visit for her eye. Being the weekend my vet was not open. I did not receive Urgent care for my pet. The vet requested blood tests from my primary vet which I got for her. I called the office to make sure she got them and the receptionist was not at all professional or kind in speaking with me. I did call her back and told her I was not happy with her treatment of me on the phone. I never received a call back from this Vet Dr. Jackie for 5 days. When we spoke about my cats eye, and she proceeded to feel it more urgent to discuss that I had made a big problem with her office staff and that I not come back. This vet never was Professional Enough to ask what happened and what the problem was or apologize for her receptionist's unkindness. No problem here, I don't have time for a clinic that is UNPROFESSIONAL ON ALL LEVELS. I feel terrible I brought my poor baby there! read more

I am a first year veterinary student (age 31) with a background in animal research, scientific publication, and working at small animal and large animal veterinary facilities. I first brought my domestic medium haired cat to Paris Hill Cat Hospital in 2015 and Dr. Marquardt performed a successful tooth extraction and exam, which was satisfactory. However, I recently had an interaction with this institution that was quite disappointing and I feel the need to inform perspective clients about my experience. As I am traveling to Grenada, I needed a veterinarian to fill out wellness forms needed for travel. I indicated this need to the receptionist when making the appointment, again to the technician who treated my pet during the appointment, and finally to Dr. Marquardt before she preformed a wellness check and gave vaccines. After the services were preformed, she informed me that she may not be able to sign the travel forms because she is not an accredited vet, nor are any of the other vets in the office. I did not know at the time whether an accredited vet was needed for the forms or not, however I learned later that evening that I indeed needed an accredited vet to sign off on the forms. I reached out to the clinic the next day explaining the situation. My biggest disappointment was that the doctor informed me no one in the office was accredited AFTER the wellness exam was preformed and the vaccinations were given. Since she knew this could be a problem, I wish I had been informed of this before services were given and I was charged. I spoke with Dr. Tom Rothwell on the phone and he was incredibly rude and unprofessional regarding the situation, hardly allowing me to explain. He even suggested I "call Albany, because no one has accreditation anymore" (which isn't true, the first vet I called afterward has accreditation and is going to fill out the forms). He also suggested the pet immigration forms I obtained from the Grenada government might be "outdated" and would speak over me when I tried to read the requirements on the forms to him. I requested a partial refund for the services since I will now have to pay again at an accredited clinic. I was flatly denied. My disappointment with this institution is that I approached a problem with the experience in calm manor and wasn't treated with any kind of respect or understanding, or even a willingness to listen to what the form requested. I should have been told before services that none of the vets are accredited and I should have been treated fairly when I called to discuss the matter. Tom was unprofessional and rude. When I become a veterinarian, I aspire to never treat clients in this condescending, unprofessional tone. I advise you seek vet care elsewhere, where client interaction is part of the business model. **Update 12/20/2017 I was contacted by Dr. Marquardt after posting my original 1 star review. She refunded me $7.00 for the cost of the travel certificate that I did not receive, which was appreciated. She also suggested I should have checked for accreditation and what I needed for travel before making the appointment-- which I can agree with to some degree. However, I asked about needed paperwork when I scheduled the appointment, to the technician when I arrived, and again to Dr. M before the exam. I wasn't told that all the vets were not accredited until after everything was done. I had to pay for another veterinarian to preform a wellness exam because every accredited vet I have contacted requests they preform the wellness exam if they are providing the paperwork. Had I known the vets at Paris Hill were not accredited and could not provide travel documents, I would have saved ~40$ because I would have done the vaccines, wellness exam, and paperwork all at the same veterinary clinic. I changed my review to 2 stars because there was some attempt to ameliorate the situation, but I still don't recommend this facility. read more

I love Paris Hill Cat Hospital and everyone who works there, from receptionists to clinic staff to the vets. If you are looking for a vet for your cat, I can't recommend them highly enough. After living in multiple states, they found the real reason one of my cats had litter issues (a previous vet just put the cat on Prozac! Yikes!), performed a surgery, recommended a diet change, and now I have a healthy, happy, litterbox-using cat again. My other two cats have received similarly excellent care. The waiting room is large enough that cats aren't too close to each other while waiting to see the vet. The vets and clinic staff are patient and will answer any questions you have kindly and thoroughly. Again, I can't say enough good things about Paris Hill Cat Hospital! read more

Wonderful all-cat veterinary practice. My old cat was going downhill fast until her (multiple) problems were diagnosed and treated. Good supply of cat chows, toys, and health aids. They also board and have several personable "staff" cats on hand. read more
