It can be hard to find a good doctor when you have an HMO and have to commit to a doctor before knowing their bedside manner, but I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised after my first appointment with Dr. O'Bryan. She took the time to make me feel like I was being listened to, she asked more questions than any doctor I have ever seen before, which made me feel like she was being very thorough. I highly recommend her and after just one appointment I can tell that we are a great match and I look forward to being under her care as a patient.

I especially appreciated that Dr. Hosseini has a phlebotomist on staff (David was excellent--quick and painless!), so I didn't have to make a separate trip to a lab for bloodwork. At my first appointment he described himself as being a medical 'quarterback'. Not being a sports person, I'm not sure what he meant by it but I found him to be more of a middle manager. He'll take your vitals, order & review blood tests, prescribe some basic meds, but otherwise refers everything out. You don't even have to take off your clothes for any appointments - though this can be a plus if it's what you're looking for. My main issue is that he does not perform annual women's wellness exams. He will refer you to a Gyn. My prior doctor of 15 years & new doctor both regularly perform your annual women's wellness exam especially if pregnancy is not an issue unless you specifically request otherwise or have your own Gyn. For basic annual exams there's no real need for a specialist. My question is does he perform prostate exams on men & or is it just women's wellness he's not comfortable with? Because trust me, I don't like that exam very much either but it's a health necessity. If you're a women he may not be the right fit. He was very thorough in ordering lab test before your visit & taking vitals and reviewing them in great detail but he did not really leave time for addressing patient questions and concerns. By the time I got home I always felt that I didn't have a chance to discuss my concerns or he was dismissive of them. I always come in with a notepad to keep track of my doctor's comments & my questions. I did have one concern that I did a Telehealth appointment. He suggested I come in for a physical exam, which I did, but he never performed the physical exam. I was too embarrassed to ask. I came to Dr. Wallis when my primary care doctor of 15 years moved her practice too far. He came highly recommended. I was contemplating another doctor but chose Dr. Wallis on their recommendation. His concierge service was not feasible so I moved to another doctor who is a good fit.

You call and are instandly placed into a IVR, interactive voice recording decision tree system... having to punch buttons over and over and over and over and over again and again and again. Then they decide to shuttle your call... one hour later, I'm still in limbo. I was originally sent to the Redondo Beach office, then they transfered me internally but never serviced me after 30+ minutes... then I hung up to start it over again and was sent to a another call center who then transferred me to the Northridge office instead of the Redondo Beach office to make an appointment... then I had to hang up and call again and was sent to a general call center, whether in the USA, India, Philippines or somewhere off-short, they were of zero help. They said they'd contact the Redondo Beach office to give me a call back. I have ZERO faith in their abilities and humanity on the call center level. The people who work in the office, starting from the front desk to all of the medial assistants and doctors are * * * * * Five Star, Great. What I truly hate about OPTIM is their migration towards technology which they're inept at handling properly. They keep pushing their APP / WEBSITE or PORTAL which is not user friendly, not intuitive and neglected, even by way of when contacting physicians and getting responses. I also truly HATE their phone system at Optim. I don't trust their Chat option, as Optim needs to improve the way they approach client services and customer care of the patients. Their calls go directly to what I think they call "Patient Support Services" which is not the local location of the service, so in my case, not in Redondo Beach. The way Optim approaches how they handle their customers, it inspires customers to seek care from another provider. I'm sure most large medical organizations all use technology and seek an organization who handles technology correctly. I predict the way Optim will approach A.I., Artificial Intelligence will be with a lack of human intelligence and reliance on automation and flawed. I hope they will read just how horrible their LACK OF QUALITY COMMUICATION skills and services are as I've seen many bad reviews that mimic and mirror my experiences and opinions.
