I was so excited to come here, but wound up pretty disappointed. Long story short: food was fine and reasonably priced, but the service left a lot to be desired. Everyone working there was very nice -- just not very attentive. We were told there would be a 25-minute wait, so we sat at the bar for a drink. The bartenders didn't acknowledge us for quite a while -- granted, they were pretty busy, but were making drinks right in front of us and didn't even say hi and that they'd be with us soon. After waiting about 45 minutes (luckily with drinks by that point), we asked the hostess how much longer it might be. She then seated us right away -- a nice surprise, but it made us feel like she had probably forgotten about us that entire time and we could've waited another hour if we didn't bring it up. Once we were seated, we waited a while for a server to come over. When he did, he set down water and glasses without introducing himself and walked away before we could order any drinks or appetizers. We didn't see him much more at our table throughout the meal, which was a little frustrating because he seemed to be more attentive to some of his other tables. Our meals arrived at different times (Frank pizza and the meatballs -- good, but lukewarm) and our wine didn't arrive until we were halfway through our dinner. We then had to track down the server to get our bill after waiting 20 minutes once we finished eating -- and then half our leftovers never made it back once they took it away to box it for us. Oh, and while we were eating, another employee was carrying clean glasses to the bar with his fingers inside them. :/ While any one of these service issues could've been overlooked on a busy Friday night, all of them in one trip just won't cut it. Went with a group of friends on a Friday night, our first time since the renovation. The restaurant was crowded and very noisy. Food was average, service was awful. We ordered drinks and waited what seemed like 15 minutes. Then another 20 minutes or so to take our food order. Maybe they were too busy or understaffed, but service was not very good. They do not offer bread service, it is ala carte. We ordered entrees, not small plates, but were told bread would be extra. What's? Will not return. Everything from start to finish was delicious. We came here for a birthday and we ordered a bunch of stuff and I enjoyed everything. The vodkas drink with grapefruit was very good but a little bit strong. For small plates I'd suggest the brie, mussels and tater tots. The shishito peppers were plain and bland. The french onion soup was not warm enough and the amount of cheese was a bit overwhelming. The tater tots were my favorite starter. The baked brussel sprout salad had a lot of flavor and was delicious. The duck fat fries were good but not as good as the truffle fries that came with the burger. The duck fat fries are a bit overrated. The Mediterranean pizza was one of the best Mediterranean pizzas I have ever had. The park 600 burger was amazing. Something about egg on a burger just makes me happy. The meatballs were great, especially with the mashed potatoes on top. The meatballs were a bit dry but the person who thought of putting mashed potatoes on them is a genius. They had a lot of spices and flavor. If I were to get them again I would ask for more puttanesca sauce on it. The trout and the pork shank were my two favorite entrees. The trout was just so refreshing and cooked perfectly. The pork shank was on another level of amazingness. It was cooked perfectly on the bone and the glaze on it was so flavorful. The creme brulee was also amazing. I couln't stop eating at Park 600. Everything that came out was delicious. I will definitively be back and I can't wait to try more items on the menu. read more

Was meeting some friends in downtown Rochester later in the day. Arrived at the bar for Saturday lunch by myself. The female bartender - wish I could remember her name - was so friendly and welcoming. I had a Prosecco and the park burger with steak fries. It was cooked perfectly and so delicious. The female restaurant manager was the one who brought it to the bar and came back to make sure it was done right. Sitting at the bar watching people get into the "Holiday Spirit" was quite entertaining and the bartender handled it all with class. read more

My wife and I are currently staying at the Royal Park. The restaurant was the only place open on Christmas Day. The staff was not being led by anyone in particular and seemed to be made up of part time college students home on break? For the money spent and the quality of the food I feel that I am owed something. My family has held many events here in the past and my wife and I dine quite frequently on the patio during the summer. We will continue to give it a try while we visit. read more

We were excited to revisit the restaurant at the Royal Park; hadn't been here in a few years. What are they thinking with the menu? Hostess; adorable, gave us 4 different seating areas to choose from, we chose the outside deck with heaters - first cool evening. Server; inexperienced but kind and attentive - management's fault for not training. French onion soup was flavorful, but the broth (not the onions), was really thick making it too heavy. Hubby ordered the chicken kebabs, received one chicken and one beef. They both were great. I was so looking forward to the beignets - total disappointment. The beignets weren't as bad as the amount of powdered sugar on them. Way to much and stuck on like glue, made it difficult to taste the accompanying sauces. All in all, we won't be back. If you love Rochester, as we do, stick to any of the fabulous restaurants on and around Main. Even without reservations the wait time will be worth it! read more

Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. I had been to this restaurant a few times before with family and wanted to come back for a date night because they have an amazing patio and the food and cocktail list looked amazing. Unfortunately, I will never return. Despite the fact that the restaurant was no where near packed, our service was TERRIBLE. Some of the worst we have had. We were constantly waiting for our server to check on us and bring drinks. We waited for 35 minutes for our check to come after we had requested it and then ended up having to cash out at the bar because the server never returned to collect the check. After complaining about the bill, the 4'9" 70 yr old mgr explained that the bartenders can't give any pricing different than the menu pricing without her, the manager, physically going into the computer and making price adjustments. Solidly meh. It's an attractive spot, nice views. Our server Cheryl was very friendly and working hard. It wasn't busy at all - the entire main room was empty and we were the only table in the outer room, with a few outside tables occupied as well - so it didn't make sense that service was so slow. Friendly, but slow. The food, though - that's what was really disappointing. Margarita pizza had a soggy crust and pale tomatoes. If I can get nicer looking tomatoes at Kroger or Costco, they should be able to as well! Eggs Benedict was very bready, soggy, the eggs weren't cooked enough, the sauce was very thick with a strange aftertaste, and it was served lukewarm. I ate what I could, which was mainly ham scraped of all sauce and liquid egg whites, but it was so unappetizing. I've never pushed a plate of Eggs Benedict away in my life but I did today! With other brunch possibilities in town, I don't see a return visit in the future. For 5 people who basically ordered breakfast, with no cocktails, the bill was $102 not including tip. That's too much to spend for mediocrity. They will validate valet parking if you remember to give them your ticket. read more

Went there for brunch with a small group this past Sunday. Remodel looks fantastic- the new bar is beautiful and loved the open wood burning stove. Service was excellent, restaurant very clean, however... the food and drink was extremely disappointing. I ordered a Bloody Mary. It was "good" but it didn't knock my socks off or anything. The drink was $10 and I thought for 10 dollars my celery shouldn't be wilted and literally bent over the glass. 2 of my friends also had Bloody's and their celery was also rubbery and wilted. What bartender serves a drink like that? The brunch menu is pretty limited- I had the chili which comes in a small skillet and is served over a biscuit and has a poached egg on top. It was satisfactory but I sort of thought the egg on top was odd. It was a fairly small portion and was $12. Very overpriced for a bowl of chili and was pretty bland. My Mom had the Country Breakfast which was also $12. The eggs were very dry, like they had been sitting under the heat lamp for quite a while. She said her bacon was "like shoe leather" and she didn't touch it. The Rosemary Potatoes were pretty greasy and not crispy or fresh at all. It sort of reminded me of a Big Boy breakfast bar... very disappointing for $12. The menu also asks you to "refrain from making any substitutions and to enjoy the menu as presented." Really? I've eaten many times at the Royal Park before it changed to Park 600 and always thought it was stellar... this was a big bummer. Won't recommend or return. Food: I ordered the salmon for lunch. At first, I was having trouble choosing the salmon or soft shell crab BLT. After asking what our waitress recommended, she was honest that she doesn't like seafood in general. But she did say that the salmon was very popular there and after all the times the menu changes there, the salmon was always a keeper. So I went with that. My boyfriend ordered their Park 600 signature burger. My portion was two pieces of multi-grain bread with arugula and smoked salmon partnered with some seasoned potatoes. It was honestly delicious. Although, I felt the portion could be a little more but it was great presentation and clean. I was full after my meal. My boyfriend's burger wasn't bad at all. He said the onions were a bit too strong but I felt it was fine as they were cooked onions not raw. There were steak-cut fries that accompanied his burger. I believe their ranch dip was house-made and it was great. Fries were also good to me but my boyfriend doesn't like steak-cut fries as that's a lot of potato flavor for him. Service: Our waitress was named Kayla. She was great. Super friendly. While we were waiting for her to get our drinks another waitress came up to make sure we were taken care of. It wasn't too busy at the time we came so I felt that also played a role in our timely service as well. Price: We went for lunch. I thought the menu wasn't too overpriced. It is slightly on the higher end such as $14 for my two pieces of salmon but I can see the chefs took time to put together the flavors and presentation of the food. It makes you want to really enjoy it and not just scarf the food down. My boyfriend's burger was $18. It's a little higher for the portion again but you can't put a price on effort and taste. Amenity: The restaurant is actually located inside inside a Rochester hotel. We were kind of lost at first. Upon arriving to the restaurant, we were asked by the hostess if we would care to dine inside or outside. We chose inside as the weather might have been a bit too hot for my boyfriend. Mostly everyone chose to dine outside. It was very empty inside but my boyfriend enjoyed the quietness we had. The restaurant is very clean and has nice modern decor. It's a very posh restaurant. Everything served was on the finer end. Overall: I gave the restaurant 4 stars because I felt the location can be a little confusing at first. Kind of out of the way. Parking is a bit of a hassle since the lot is small and crowded. There is valet though. I do feel it is slightly overpriced for the portions but I am really satisfied with the service and taste of the food. We went to this restaurant for brunch on Saturday. Ordered a variety of breakfasts including smoked salmon which I liked, my sons each got eggs and sausage which they liked along with my son's girlfriend. We waited for the two other dishes and waited and waited. 10 mins later the skillet dishes arrived, piping hot and little to no apology for them being so late. My wife did not like hers at all, my mother ate hers because she was hungry. Then, our server disappeared. I had to go find a manager with my credit card and said, 'we have to leave, I don't know where our server is". Finally, she came back with the bill. I'll never understand why rochester can't sustain a decent restaurant. My only guess is that everyone takes their money to spend in birmingham. If you want mini, undercooked, soggy parogis, filled with blue cheese, then order the tater tots. If you want a big glass of artificial lemonade, order lemonade. If you want a soggy, chewy pizza, that makes you wish you were back in college eating a Tonys frozen, order pizza. If you want a cocktail before dinner, make sure you remind your server that you ordered it 3 times so you get it before you've cashed out. The changes they've made aren't improvements. I was shocked at the transformation of an elegant restaurant deserving of a 5 star hotel to a stainless steel bar that could be found on any main street in the area. Recently, I tried it and the menu selection is terrible along with the service. I guess it's deserving of the $9/plate for Tator Tots seeing that it's an upscale restaurant. If I want a bar atmosphere, I'll go somewhere with a better menu selection, pricing and service - like Gus O'Connor's just down the street. read more

Ok so I get that this is a spot for the regulars and for ppl that come to the hotel. It's nice and elegant overall. I went here with a group of ppl so I didn't get a chance to walk around and see the entire venue. We parked in the back up the ramp. You can also valet. We sat in the back area where they do private parties. For dinner I had their Park 600 Burger (Aged White Irish Cheddar, Peppered Maple Bacon, Bourbon Onions, Truffle Aioli, thick-cut fries $15.00). I also had a glass of Cab ($12) and I wish I remember the name of it because it was something different than the usual. It was good. Just ask the waiter if you're a Cab person. I do like this place and may have to give it another try for the full-on experience. The decor is nice and our waiter was excellent. I also noticed that the prices are decently priced especially for this area. You can definitely get good food here and not break your wallet. read more

Very nice finishings. Messed up reservation policy. Their website says only parties of 6 or more can reserve a table, but when you get there, premium tables for 4 on the terrace are mysteriously reserved. Food is pretty good, but should be a lot better for where it is. Skillet is tiny and doesn't even come with toast, but the hash has real corned beef and is scratch made. Have been there 3 times in the past few weeks. All three have been great. The food and service are fantastic.

For a hotel that markets as a "Four Diamond" hotel and restaurant I was not impressed. First if you call to order take out at Park 600 and nobody answers (which happened to me 5 times) you get a voicemail that instructs you to leave a message. I find that odd for a restaurant. When I placed my order I got the impression I was inconveniencing the individual that was taking my order - once completed the response I got was "I'm not really sure how long this will take 30 - maybe 45 minutes". They forgot one of my meals and offered to make it quickly (15-20 minutes), which defeats the purpose of ordering take-out if you have to wait and let your food sit for another 15-20 minutes. The food was not what I would expect from a Hotel/Restaurant that is supposed to be one of the top, most elegant, swanky restaurants around. The risotto was under cooked, the shrimp was over cooked and if you're going to serve a meal with a veggie - you should really have more than 1-2 pieces on the plate. The pastrami on the burger was inedible (like shoe leather). I'll be taking my business down the road to Kruse and Muer in the future. It is not worth the 25-28 a plate (not even worth half of that). If I could have given "0" stars, I would have. read more

So very disappointed. We are from the old school - have eaten at The Royal Park since it opened. My Lord - this is bad. Can't hear yourself think - brought friends and we literally couldn't speak to them at the same table, without yelling. If they took goat cheese off the menu, there would be nothing left. Can't get a really good meal - and, can I interest you in pizza to go? Two meals came, the other two we had not received after 15 minutes waiting. I complained and cancelled the rest of orders. And, upon leaving, some people sat down at the table next to us - dressed in sweatpants, sweatshirts and their two little ones were in their pj's. Maybe it got out that they now do pizza??? And, feel free to "dress down". Do not go there for a quiet evening out, like it used to be. Those days are gone. I hope the millenials like this place. We won't go back.
