I could not recommend this place more. My puppy was sick one day, and I called the vet and they got him in the same day. My puppy ended up having Parvo. They took such good care of him - and me as I was very scared. They sat and talked with me for a very long time, and with their help my dog was better within days. I even got two separate phone calls a few days later from them to check in on my boy because they were worried. I will never take my dog anywhere else! Vets scare me because they are a hit and miss and they try to push expensive treatments on my dog. This Vet was very chill and my dog wasn't too scared by the end (she's terrified of vets). They told me what I needed to do and even recommended cheaper options at other places to me! I even got my dog spayed here and they kept her overnight! Phenomenal service! After taking our 9mo. dog to the Riverwoods Pet Hospital, we were told we needed to pay $1,100 for Parvo treatment. Our dog wasn't showing symptoms so we decided to get a second opinion. The Vet spent around 20 minutes visiting and explaining our options. Used to be a great hospital but they only have two vets and I can never get in, not when my dog has diarrhea for days & not even for vaccines. The wait was 3 months and I called for a vaccine appt even before I got her. I have to go to Blue Pearl in Murray for everything and they aren't even opened Mondays. In the 9 months I've had this dog the only thing I've been able to do here is have my dog spayed and they saw her when her incision was coming apart after that. It's frustrating. read more

This was my first visit. I recently moved to Utah from out of state. The vet assistant did ask if I had any health concerns for my pet, which I did not. We were there for an annual checkup and vaccines. However no other questions were asked about anything else; her health history, lifestyle, activity level, any other concerns, or any questions at all actually. The exam itself was extremely superficial: looked at her ears, teeth & felt her ribs ONLY. Didn't take her temp, feel her organs, check for mobility, look in her eyes, check her coat... In fact, I was the one who brought up asking about heartworm and flee & tick preventative medications. If I had not the vet would have left the exam room without a second glance. I did not feel as if you cared about the wellbeing of my pet and were not interested in creating an ongoing vet/pet/owner relationship. I chose to go to a vet's office to establish a relationship for the care of my pet. If I wanted detached revolving door service I could have gone to a PetCo VetCo clinic and saved a bunch of money. I only come here because they are the closest to my house and my cat does not like traveling. However, every time I come here I feel frustrated and disappointed. The place never seems clean. They mix the dogs & cats together which always stresses my cat out. They don't even clean the exam rooms between patients, so there's always the smell of dogs when I do get seen -- again, stressing my cat out. They never see me on time for my scheduled appointment; I feel like I'm always waiting around 20-30 minutes. On my last visit, I waited a whole hour with no one updating me on the time nor apologizing for the absurdly long wait. The lack of consideration for my time and my cat's anxiety is atrocious. When I'm finally able to see a doctor, the exam is always so-so. The doctors seem knowledgeable, but they don't seem experts on feline health. Also, anytime they give my cat a shot or a pill, they always struggle in doing so, which upsets my cat and likewise upsets me. Park Animal Hospital already beats out the competition by pricing alone. Oh my, I am shocked every time I visit, by how affordable they are! They definitely like to over-quote over the phone I've noticed, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but gosh you cannot beat their affordability especially if you don't have pet insurance. But aside the pricing - The staff and management are the BEST, and this is why they deserve 5 stars. I've heard horror stories of other local pet-care facilities in this regard, but it's so apparent that the staff here care about what they do. They'll take the time to explain procedures, they'll always remain positive, patient, and understanding, and they get the job done well. I can't say enough about this place. Pay them a visit. Tons of grooming, boarding, two surgeries, and many other visits later, and we are still coming back. The staff is friendly, prices are very good, and the vets are very skilled at their job. I wouldn't establish with this hospital. Clearly they only care about a person's business when it's convenient for them! I won't go back to this hospital ever. My daughter's cat has oral cancer. She quit eating and drinking yesterday. The cat is a current patient, had the mass removed and diagnosed with cancer at this place. I called to inform them that the cat needs to be humanly euthanized and asked to be squeezed in today or tomorrow. Even after the explanation, I was told they are busy and they had appointments in Thursday. Excuse me?!?! I'm not letting the cat that we have all loved so much, suffer until Thursday. What says she will even live that long with her invasive oral cancer? 100% not acceptable and that attitude is a special kind of cold hearted. So my daughter is taking her cat to another Vet Hospital in the area, that we have NEVER been to and that squeezed them in for an appointment. Why? They are really doing much better. For a while there, the customer service was really lacking. It was also impossible to get a grooming appointment. Now, I have to say my experience has been very good. I had my dogs groomed and then boarded for the weekend a few days later, and everything was great. The kennel crew is super attentive and followed our directions on food and meds to the T. They give you a cool little report at the end, and it really shows they got to know your dog. We actually feel much more comfortable leaving them there now tbh. This place isn't the cheapest, but it's also not crazy. But you will get what you pay for which is nice. read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE. We took our 6 month old kittens here for shots and a regular checkup. They had some black stuff in their ears and we asked the doctor to take a look, and he said "nah their ears are fine. You can clean them if you want, but they generally take of that themselves." Well, their ears were still bothering them and so we took them to Banfield at PetSmart, and they both have FULLY MATURED EAR MITES and YEAST INFECTIONS. The doctors at Park Animal Hospital put our pets' health in jeopardy due to their negligence. Who knows how many more pets have gone here sick, and not been treated because the doctors say "nah they're fine". DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR PETS. read more

I recently got my pupper neutered here. They were friendly and helpful. Aside from losing his manhood and having to wear the cone of shame, I'm sure my pup thinks so too. All of the staff I interacted with were great (both the tech's and the veterinarian) with both of us and answered all of the question I had. Even his incision site looks great. They really did an excellent job all around. The building was clean (as it can be with all the animals running around shedding everywhere) and accidents were cleaned up right away. This is my first experience with a vet and it has been great! They are well informed and there is little no wait time! I have noticed the receptionist isn't very attentive and some of the staff were a little too touchy with my cat (not during the exam just for fun). The nurse before even took her out to show her off, it was very nice but I could tell my cat did not want it and I would have appreciated some more professionalism. They also couldn't correct the dates they gave my cat her vaccinations so her official sheet is wrong and they aren't going to change it. This place is absolutely amazing. Let me tell you my story. It doesn't have a happy ending, but my incredibly positive experience with this veterinary office makes it hurt a lot less. My boyfriend and I had a very, very ill kitten, Duke, who was declining quickly. Not eating or drinking, labored breathing, pale gums, could hardly even stand. I was so scared, and I was going down the list of veterinary offices that came up on Google and calling each one, trying to find a place that would be able to hospitalize him overnight. When I finally called Park Animal Hospital, it was only ten minutes before they closed for the evening, and I explained the situation and the receptionist was so kind and understanding and was happy to accommodate me. Even though I would be coming in about fifteen minutes after they closed because of the drive, she said, "It's okay, I'll stay until you get here." When I arrived, she had already called my previous vet's office and received the bloodwork that Duke had gotten a few days earlier. The overnight emergency veterinarian who was available (Dr. Reed, if memory serves) had already examined it, and she came out to help in less than ten minutes. The bloodwork looked very, very grim, and suggested that Duke may have come down with feline infectious peritonitis (FIP), a virus that has a mortality rate of 100% in young cats. The vet was incredibly knowledgeable and informative, addressed all my concerns, and prepared me for the potential worst-case scenario. She offered to do a test that would confirm whether or not FIP was the case, told me the cost up front, and was incredibly professional, realistic, and empathetic. I asked for him to get tested, and the test came up positive. She gently explained the severity of the situation and that Duke would most likely pass on overnight whether or not he was hospitalized. I became an absolute wreck, sobbing so hard that I couldn't even speak. The vet gave me time to process the information and left us in the room for a few minutes while I called my boyfriend and shared the bad news. He also became an absolute wreck. I told the vet that I would take him home, and made an appointment to get him euthanized the following morning. She explained how to reach her directly through the emergency phone number in case we decided to bring him in earlier. There were tears in her eyes, too. A a courtesy, I wasn't charged for the FIP test or the x-rays that were taken, only the after-hours exam fee. My boyfriend and I brought Duke back in a couple hours later, after we cuddled him and said our goodbyes, and the veterinarian who was so kind to me earlier was the one who helped him pass on to a greater peace. After all was said and done, she expressed her condolences and gave me a big hug. I'm crying as I write this, but I wanted to share my experience with anyone who may be looking for a better vet. Even though the situation itself was unbelievably difficult, the professionalism, knowledge, kindness, empathy, and absolute compassion of the people at this office made it stand out above and beyond any other vet I have ever been to. Sadly this vet used to be the ultimate best-- but they sold out to a new owner and it's not the same. I wish i would have known this before our last experience. Our sweet baby went in for a "routine" $1200-$3000 surgery and died right after surgery. They told me over and over it would be fine and they did these all the time. We are heartbroken and I will never take my other dog here again. I do not trust them. Read other reviews on google of dogs dying from routine surgeries in the last few months since it was sold. And yes. We still paid for the surgery. read more

First time boarding with this facility. Left my dogs while I was out of the country. When I picked them up I noticed that one had a "sticky" type Ace bandage wrapped EXTREMELY tightly around the tip of his tail. This was not mentioned when I checked them out so no reason was given for it's application. I removed it immediately! It was difficult to remove as it was so tight. I noticed no sore area under the bandage and dismissed it. Approximately one week later I noticed the last 3 inches of my dogs tail was hairless and BLACK!!! Took him to my vet. The tissue was dead and rotting!! He had to have surgery to remove the dead part of the tail. HORRIFIED by my experience! Won't be back! read more

Park Animal Hospital is the best. I mistakenly gave our cat Jazz an overdose of insulin which is potentially fatal. Doctor Noyce met met me at the hospital at 8:30 PM and immediately began a glucose IV drip which was closely monitored for 36 hours. He called three times to provide updates and Jazz is fine. I could not have asked for better service from him and his staff. All the assistants were very helpful and friendly and the cost was reasonable. I highly recommend Park Animal Hospital. read more

We adopted a cat and made an appointment to have him seen on August 6th since he didn't look so good ( his eye was just running and looked bad) and since we just moved to Utah and couldn't find my other cats shot records decided to bring him along to get them done. My husband took the cats while I was at work and when I asked what did they say about the adopted cat he said he wasn't seen. When I said why, he said they didn't have a record of his appointment but they did call at 10:30 the day before to confirm his appointment for 11:30 and my other cat appointment at 10. I had a conversation asking them can they be seen with each other and was told no because they were seeing different doctors. I've been in the pet industry business for 16 years so I called and they said at first there was no appointment for a Thor but after telling them they called me yesterday to remind me they changed their answer to we had an appointment for a Thor at 11:30 but had a no show. REALLY!!!! I brought both of the cats at 10am and you told my husband Thor didn't have an appointment and was told to bring him in on the 7th. I know COVID has made things crazy but the cat that needed the most attention got the least because the kicker is I had them run whatever test the Dr. felt needed to be ran to see what was wrong with this cat. The Dr. suggested a test to see about possibly an upper respiratory problem and would send me home with antibiotics in the meantime( which didn't work) but it needed to be sent out and we would get the results back in about 3 days so tell me why did I have to call them on the 24th to ask about the results. The receptionist put me on hold because she didn't know what to look for and when she came back on said sorry the results came in and we forgot to call you but the Dr. will sometime today. So you forgot to give me my sick cats results that I paid good money for and then instead of getting right on the phone to tell me the results it took them until 4:30 to finally call me, to top it off one of the test results came back abnormal. I would have never known unless I called them. Being in the industry this is unacceptable and shows me my animal isn't important enough to you so I will NEVER take my animals here again. read more

This is our story: I asked them to bathe him and trim his nails before he came home to us and low and behold, one of his nail claws had been pulled out. Yes, believe it, pulled out! The place on his foot where the claw had been pulled out was bleeding and oozing. Kitty wouldn't let me touch his paws at all. After I discovered this, I called the office and Dr. Park didn't believe me when I explained what happened and he denied that his staff did this. Kudos to the doctor for defending his staff. Too bad the facts don't support the defense. When I drove my cat back for Dr. Park to examine, kitty became stressed and was growling in the waiting room, hissing at Dr. Park. He said his staff said they didn't do anything and suggested that the cat may have thrashed himself while being bathed.. Really?! If this did happen, wouldn't they discover this when they dried him off after bathing? And if they knew it, why wouldn't they tell me when I picked him up? Our cat has never had this reaction to any other veterinarian or staff member in any other place we have lived. The dogs in the back room bark and howl, sounding very unhappy, in my opinion. And I'm not sure what the cats are going through, but we will never subject our cat or any future animals to them again. If I could give less than a Zero rating, I would. read more

I recently moved here from Chicago where I had a outstanding vet. I took my dog in here to get spayed and the medicine they wanted to put her on, is a medicine that a small percentage can have a fatal reaction to. Unfortunately, I had a dog who did and died from this medicine so I refused to put my new dog on that medicine. I was told the doc would call me to discuss. They never did. I tried calling. No answer. They finally call me 8 hours later to let me know that my dog is ready to get picked up. Not even a call to let me know she was out of surgery. (This was what my last vet used to do). Then I have to make an appointment to get her stitches out and I'm not kidding I had to call 9 TIMES!!! over a 2 day period for someone to answer. Maybe this is the type of service that is acceptable in Utah, but coming from an area where service was huge, this is unacceptable. Especially when my dog is having surgery. I expressed my concerns and they assured me the doc would call me. I won't be back here. read more

I was quite happy after our first appointment. We were referred here for our new adoptee, a 4 week old kitten. (We aren't monsters, his mom abandoned him.) Our little guy wasn't feel so great and seemed to have a bit of a cold and just needed to be checked out anyway. He got the care he needed and the vet was happy to answer my questions and help me be a better cat owner. I felt like he really cared about making sure that both me and my little guy were going to get on well and be happy together. I have taken all of my animals to Park Animal Hospital for over 10 years. They are so good to them! I have a Lab that is getting older. Dr. Park has given us the best advice in dealing with his Arthritis. He went from not being able to get on the bed to jumping on the bed everyday. The fish oil supplement that Dr. Park recommended along with his regular medication has worked wonders!! He is back to jumping on the bed again! The Groomers give my border collie a good shave every spring for the warmer weather and they do a great job. My little shih tzu had surgery this summer to have some breast cancer removed. They also pulled some of her teeth that were going bad. She was in bad shape and is now back to acting like a puppy. I don't understand the not so good reviews for them. They have always been wonderful to work with. I think it is incredibly unfair that anyone can leave a bad review and the business has no way of countering the complaint. Don't believe the opinions of people that have an ax to grind. Doctor Park has gone so far as to call me after hours to explain the condition of my cat when she was in the last days of her life to explain her condition. I highly recommend them and as you can see I know from years of experience not just one drop in visit!! read more

My wife and I have gone here all the time due to sick animals. My wife really likes the vets and the people working here however we had a bad experience recently. My wife's cat has been having a hard time with allergies so they gave her a very costly medication to try on our cat. After doing research, this medication has not been even tested in cats! When my wife got a second opinion, the dermatologist mentioned she would never give a cat the medication. My wife went back here to get a refund on the medication, which she never even opened, and they said she couldn't return it for a refund but could "donate" it back so they could use it again! I can understand if they said no refund because of possible contamination but with as much money as we've spent here, she deserves a refund if she is going to "donate" it back so they can use it again! read more

Went to Park Animal Hospital today with my cat Jack. Had the best experience with Dr. Park and his assistant Michelle. They quickly figured out Jacks problem and treated him so kind and gentle. The office was clean, the staff professional and helpful. I am excited that I have found the best VET in Utah. I tried Banfield in the past, they were expensive, not clean, and staff didn't seem professional or knowledgeable. Prices were so much less at Park also.
