But his ears were kept a little long, not bad. I though the price was reasonable for his breed and they were good to call as soon as he was done. It took about 1.5 - 2 hours, normal for our dog. He has never had issues with biting or being aggressive to anyone including past groomers and he is 9 years old. Something is not right with this scenario..... PLEASE READ TO SAVE YOUR DOG FROM ABUSE & TRAUMA. THIS IS A COMMON COMPLAINT FROM OTHER CUSTOMERS AND IT HAPPENED TO ME. BEWARE!!! This past Friday I was told my Parker was trying to bite and was being aggressive and I would have to find another groomer. I expressed my concern because that was very out of character for my dog and this was the first time I heard of soemthing like this. I was told there are notes that he had done this before but NO ONE TOLD ME. If someone would have told me about this previous I would have IMMEDIATELY taken my business elsewhere because my dog is NOT aggressive. You should take s look at how you're treating the dogs that could be causing aggression. I'm having to now take him to a vet because he is acting in pain after being groomed by your negligent and abusive groomers and will hardly let me touch him. This is ABUSE!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE UNLESS YOU WANT A TRAUMATIED PUP AND A TRIP TO THE VET!! This was my first time visiting GGD and they provided very quick service! They seemed to have a lot of staff, customers, and a clean, large space. However, I was disappointed to see these little nicks on my dog when I picked her up. I'm sure things like this are very common in grooming but I don't feel comfortable paying $67 (including a 15% tip) if my dog is going to be returned to me with little cuts, especially considering my former groomer of 2 years charged less and never caused my dog any harm. read more

I took Rosie here for her first haircut! Goo Goo Dogs seems like they did a great job. She came back smelling better than before, softer, and could actually see out of her eyes again lol... She even got a cute little bandana to wear home. My only complaint is that I was charged $70. I have a 6 pound yorkie puppy. I'm not sure if this is normal for this area or not, but it seemed pricey to me considering all I brought her in for was a haircut. Wasn't really impressed with the job that they did. I felt like they over charged, parking is hard to find, but the most discussing thing, was the poop outside on the sidewalk. I know that these animals have been unable to relieve themselves, until they get outside, but maybe the groomer should give each customer a poop bag as they leave, so they can clean up after their own pet. read more

They always cut his hair short enough that we don't notice the shedding so bad and he is still so cute! He is always a happy dog when he comes home so I know he enjoys his time there. I'm not sure what is going on recently but they have said she had to be shaved and I mean really short to the skin. I gave them a 2nd chance and same thing. I honestly never leave a bad review, but I thought this might stop someone else from having a terrible experience. The first time I took my dog here to be groomed it was the week I was induced for a high risk pregnancy. The cut was terrible and they did not follow instructions as to the length we wanted, he looked like he would look after growing out for a month after any other cut. I never wanted to go back, but we were moving and I was desperate. I should have realized after they were literally the only dog groomer in Utah county without a month long wait, that going their would be a huge waste of money. I took my dog in and very clearly explained the cut I wanted. I got a call about two hours later saying that my dog was being aggressive ( this has never happened anywhere else). They then said that they would charge me for a bath, and a $65 aggression fee, and they could continue but if my dog was aggressive they would have to charge me for the fill cut. I told them to stop and I would come pick him up. By the time I drive 5 minutes to pick my dog up they said they had finished the cut (against my instructions). They informed my that they would charge me for the full cut (and more than they quoted), and the aggression fee (again he has never had a problem), as well as another $40+ fee because they decided to use a second groomer to hurry and "finish" the cut before I got there, which was against my instructions anyway. The groom was horrendous. Hardly cut at all around the boy but cut close on his face. He is a schnauzer and they completely ruined his cut. I complained they didn't listen. I was nervous that they still were holding on to my dog. They pretty much demanded a large tip and I left lying almost two hundred dollars for the worst cut I have ever seen, because I just wanted my dog out of their hands. Now remember this is the second terrible experience I have had there. If I can I will post a picture of the cut they gave. Please please please never take your animal here. read more

I will never bring my dog here again. I have a labradoodle with thick, curly hair. We always keep his tail long & face a bit little longer than the body. When I dropped him off this morning I gave the groomer specific instructions & repeatedly told him about the tail and face. He mentioned that he would have to cut it a bit shorter on the body because of some tangles which I was fine with. When I picked him up his WHOLE body was shaved extremely short. Much shorter than what he had told me. Not to mention his tail and face were completely shaved and left a ridiculous looking pompom at the end of the tail. Usually this grooming takes 6 hours to do but he was done within 3. The groomer did not take any time to just brush and trim the face or tail. When I told him I was upset about the situation he said "well his face and tail was not in good condition". First off, doing exactly what I said and just trimming the tail and face would have put it back into "good condition. Wow, magic!! Second, why would you not call me before completely going against my instructions and shave his whole body. When I told him I was not happy paying $100 for this he said that it "took a long time and he can't do that. But I can offer a free bath"... LOL. Horrible customer service and freaking lazy. I would have been better off taking him to my 80 year old grandpa with one eye. read more

I'm sad to be leaving a one star review. We have brought our dog here since she was a puppy and they usually do great but I'm super disappointed in how my dog was treated this past visit and we will not be bringing our dog here again. After bringing her home from having her hair cut my dog was licking excessively on her paws and anus. We then realized the person who cut our dog gave her razor burn in multiple spots on her body including her neck, her anus, base of her tail, in between the pads of her feet and near her genitals. They shaved in between her pads instead of just trimming the hair with scissors. It is rubbed raw in between her little paws. They cut her on both of her ears and made her bleed but failed to mention any of this! My dog is family and should have never been treated this way. They asked what they could do to make it right and it's not about the money for me. I want my dog to be treated how I would treat her. For $90, I should be able to trust that my dog is well taken care of. When we called the owner to let him know of our experience he said he would talk to the person who cut her and see what happened. He also asked us to bring our dog back in or send him pictures of the wounds so he could see them acting like we needed to prove that his employee did a bad job. He later called us to tell us that our dog was in heat and that is why her genitals were irritated which is not the case. She was in heat two months ago and the wounds on her genitals are very visible. I really don't think it's very professional for a business owner to call his customers making excuses of why his employee treated my dog so poorly. read more

We had been to Goo Goo dogs before and always thought the service was great and wasn't too pricey. Just recently we took our goldendoodle to get a TRIM, and when I picked him up they had completely shaved him. Not to mention, we dropped him off at 9am and didn't hear back from them until 4pm after I had called multiple times (nobody picked up). I thought to myself that him being shaved wasn't the worst thing to happen and I was right. Just hours after I picked him up, I noticed he was messing with his back right paw. As he kept licking at it, it became completely red and looked as if he had taken all of the hair off because it was so irritated. Not sure if they burned him or they trimmed his hair/nails too short or what, but all I know is we won't be taking our dog here again. read more

I chose to come to Goo Goo Dogs after reading positive reviews on Yelp, and after having horrible experience at Petsmart in Orem. The staff at Goo Goo Dogs were very professional and polite. They answered all of my questions, and they asked excellent questions to ensure my dog got the best cut possible. The price was also competitive with local shops. When the staff brought me my dog, he was wearing an adorable tie, and he smelled amazing. With the picture I've attached, it is obvious it was a great cut. I LOVE this place! I took my mini schnauzer puppies today for the first time (their first time being groomed too) and I was SO impressed! He was able to do both of them at the same time and when I picked them up I couldn't stop giggling by how adorable they looked! They seemed to have enjoyed their experience and didn't seem traumatized at all and really enjoyed the guy who washed/cut them. They're like different puppies now! They did great with the cut, they also trimmed the hair in the ears, cut the nails, did their teeth and even took care of the eye stains on the hair! I have taken my dogs several times here with great service. However today was a disaster. I have noticed all the old groomers are no longer there and these new people have no clue what they are doing. When I called to make the appointment they suggested that I bring my new puppy in for a "puppy experience ". All I wanted was for her to have her first little trim to clean up her sanitary areas. When I picked her up 3 hours later all that was done was a bath when I told them we have bathed her often. Then they took my dog out of my daughter's hands and disappeared. WTF?? I asked her to bring my puppy back twice before I went back and took her myself. I will NEVER return to this place again and my advice to you is if you love your pets like I do steer far away from this place. New staff is awful!! read more

Couldn't believe my luck while so far from home. Called after closing on Friday night to ask about getting my 2 Golden Retrievers groomed the following day. On our way through Provo to Idaho, we hoped to find a groomer for the boys however I wasn't very hopeful on such short notice. Boy, was I wrong - I hit the jackpot! Not only did JC #1 offer me an appointment the next day but also allowed me to leave them a few hours before so I could meet up with relatives for lunch. They came out absolutely gorgeous, clean, and mat free. They also got bandanas and a Christmas Treat bag. JC #2 (behind the desk) was super friendly and very helpful. They even lock the door when your dog comes out so there's no way he can accidentally be let out. If Yelp let me give 10 stars, this place would get them. My only complaint - they are located in Utah and I live in Orange County, CA. read more

I hate giving bad reviews but I am so sad at the way my dog was treated. Upon pick up my husband said she wasn't bathed, her hair cut was BOTCHED showing her pink skin in various spots all over her body, and she was skiddish. To add insult to injury she was recovering from an opened wound, that was completely closed when we took her in, is now opened and infected. I'm SO unsatisfied with the way they treated my dog. NEVER TAKE YOUR DOG HERE!!! We took our dog to get groomed and he came out limping and unable to put weight on his hind leg. The employee at the front desk said he thought it might have happened when he was dropped while being groomed. They should have the dogs in restraints to prevent dropping. He is a tiny dog and grooming tables are very high for such a small dog. The attendant at the front desk seemed unconcerned with the injury. I asked to speak to the owner, the front desk employee called the owner who said the dog came in with the injury. The owner told a flat out lie and was unconcerned with our dog. I then asked if I could speak to the groomer to get the complete story. The front desk employee said the groomer was too busy to speak to me and they would not let me go back to talk to them. I immediately took our dog to the vet who said he would most likely need surgery. It has been three long painful weeks for our dog, he will barely leave the doggie bed and there have been zero improvements in his leg. We made another visit to the vet and our poor little dog is now scheduled for surgery. The front desk attendant and owner were unprofessional, rude, and completely unconcerned with my dog's injury. They never called to see how our dog was or apologize at any time. Oh, and did I mention the owner lied! NEVER take your dog to these people. read more
