They've always done a fantastic job, at a fair price. And today, I picked up an iconic letterman's jacket that Miriam had spent extra time and care on!! It looks amazing!! Recently, I ruined an ENTIRE LOAD OF LAUNDRY! Moving, emptying a storage unit, washing clothes that are fitting again as I'm shrinking.... I was devastated when a hand made vest that I could have sworn I'd washed before, stained every item I'd washed with it! This stupid vest was the only dark purple item in the wash - it stained 8 items, all sweaters and fashion jackets. Some items, it was okay to let them go. But my '90s Levi's denim jacket from a family friend? I was desperate to have the giant purple splotches of fabric dye removed. Park Avenue Cleaners was recommended to me by my dad, and when I realized that they're now under new ownership, I was a little worried that maybe his recommendation wasn't valid. Their front of house person was really great to understand how my jacket (and another denim vest plus a cheap shirt that I'm partial to) was damaged by essentially getting dyed by potent purple fabric. I owe some immense gratitude to JESUS! Didn't get to meet the guy, but he is my hero for removing my purple nightmare! After 3 visits here to launder shirts, starch and press, it's a no return for me. I was attracted at first by the low prices. But I learned once again "Sometimes you only get what you pay for...". Food stains on the front of my shirts, even non-oily stains, were not removed. But the spots were permanently starched and ironed into the cotton. I took my curtains to be dry cleaned and pressed. I paid $62.00. When I picked them up they where worse than when I dropped them off. They had lots of wrinkles, hair, black cloth strings, lint, and a 3 inch blue pen mark that was not there when I dropped them off. I brought the curtains back . They were not even in the store when I came back to pick them up. I had to come back a third time because they were not ready when the ticket specified and after all that the curtains looked the same. Still had the pen mark and looked worse than when I dropped them off. The owner was also very rude. He told me I was annoying him.I recommend to never go to this place.
