Horrible service. The doctor and hospital didn't communicate. I show up same day of surgery to no DR and rude staff. They tell me to show up the following day and I get lectured about insurance. I guess I was suppose to read the cash or check only sign with my good eye. But thank you for squeezing me in before your vacation. read more

First, I want to say that my experience with the doctor went great he was nice and accommodating. I felt safe and comfortable with him. But the other staff were not and I could sense their misery. The first time I went it went well got my exams and then chose a pair of glasses, but their selection was very limited compared to other places I've been too. The second time I went to pick up my glasses (ready to pick up), everything went well until I asked one of the lady's who was in the back office where you go and choose the pairs; I believe there are about 2 to 4 desks. I had my bag and prescriptions ready to go and I had just one question before I was about to leave. I asked politely if she knew about a potential website I can go and purchase some contacts and with a negative tone she said that she didn't know and that I'd have to figure out it out on my own shrugging her shoulders. I stayed quiet for a moment and she stared at me ugly I felt so gross I just said thanks got up and left. I should've never said thanks to her but some people lack human decency these days. I understand if she didn't know how to help me out but her dismissive attitude made the experience very unprofessional. She could've said I'm sorry but I'm not sure and I would've been understanding, but she acted like a single question was the end of the world and the fact that I was seated next to that woman made my spine chill I will no longer return because of this read more

Been seeing Dr. Alanis for years. Was due for an eye exam. Made the appointment and came in recently. The office is remodeled now and has a very comfortable rustic vibe to it. Huge selection of frames and designer sunglasses to choose from. Was pleasantly surprised at how affordable the frames were. Staff is friendly and helpful. Highly recommend coming here if you're looking for the best and most affordable optometrist in the Pomona area. Side note, I have anthem blue cross for my vision insurance and this optometrist office accepts it. Hope this helps. read more

I went here a few months ago for new glasses. Some of the negative reviews had me concerned, but I decided to go in anyway since it is so close to where I live. I'm glad I went because everyone seemed really great. The texting option to check about appointments was really convenient (my glasses broke so I had to make a last minute appointment). People were friendly when I signed in, Dr. Alanis was great and welcoming, and the staff were friendly with me and helpful after for picking out glasses. When I went back to pick up my new glasses, I did observe some moments when it was busy and it seemed stressful for clients and staff given social distancing and COVID precautions (plus I know medical insurance makes dealing with eye care extra complicated). Just an FYI: cheaper glasses frames are available in the drawers below the more expensive frames displayed on the wall. read more

I'm unsure of exactly what to feel about this office. Its definitely misleading from the outside, it looks a little rundown and in the middle of nowhere but inside, its absolutely gorgeous. Its a lovely office. I didn't feel great when I came out of the office though. It could be because I'm a little biased. Prior to the job I have now, I worked in two different optometry office over the past 3 years so I have a lot of experience in that environment. I'm glad the appointment didn't take all day but...while everyone was polite, I felt like everyone was rushing me through from the person at the front desk to the person who did my pre-testing to the optometrist (a woman whose name I didn't even get because my exam was so fast) to the optician who "helped" me with glasses. I haven't noticed any significant change in vision BUT I'm diabetic so yearly eye exams are extremely important and yet my exam lasted all of maybe 7 minutes and nothing about my eye health or concerns were really discussed at all. There were changes to my prescription, apparently, but I felt so rushed that I'm not sure if that's accurate. The optician didn't take the time to really hear what I was saying - I have been in a particular type of lens for years and the optician cut me off, said something else would be better and left it at that. It just felt so impersonal and like I was just part of a rotation to get me out of the office as quickly as possible so they could move on to the next patient. I was priced out for glasses - everything price wise made sense to me - but I hesitate to go ahead with the order because I just feel weird spending a fair amount of money on a visit that felt like it was SO rushed and fast. Also when I asked them if they could fax the exam results to my physician, since I'm diabetic, they looked really confused, took down the fax # on a post-it and I have no idea if they actually sent it. I'm a little disappointed because I only get coverage for an exam once a year and I'm afraid I wasted it on ten minutes of a lackluster exam. Its possible that I'm comparing this experience to the experience I was used to providing at my old office but I don't know. read more

I have been a patient for years and I'll never go anywhere else. The staff is nice and they always respond if you any questions. You can call or text to contact them which is nice for those who don't want to wait on the phone all day. Dr. Rudolph Alanis is very caring and professional. Like everyone says, don't be mislead by the exterior of the building or the location! Come in (preferably in broad daylight) and you'll be pleasantly surprised. This was my first visit to an eye specialist and I was stricken with a little anxiety with the preliminary eye tests. Most importantly, Dr. Khan cured my irritated (dry) eye problem in short order and was friendly, to boot. The female staffers, including the doctor who performed the tests for my new reading/PC prescription were all bona fide sweetie-pies and extremely patient with me (no pun intended). When walking in you can see that the office staff have created a very clean and sanitized environment for their patients. Dr. Alanis is great! This place is awesome! This is their new location but they've been in the community for some time. From start to finish everything was so smooth. I spoke with Rita at the front desk who scheduled my appointment and also confirmed my insurance details better than my actual provider. I met with Dr. Alanis and I couldn't be happier with the exam. His explanation on my prescription and my options was top notch, even helped me with a trial pair of contacts and made me comfortable trying them for the first time. They have a great selection of glasses of all styles and their displays are modern and well lit. Great staff and environment, definitely will be keeping my appointments here. Just wanted to write a quick review for these guys. Really happy with the service and attention I received from the first moment I walked in. My profession requires me to have 20/20 vision. I was above average but after Dr.Alanis zeroed me in on my contact prescription the difference was night and day just what I needed. The entire staff was so nice and helpful Rita was at the front desk when I walked in and made me feel welcomed and at home. She set me up to see the Dr right away even though I was just a walk in. The wait was short and I saw Rita help out a nice old lady pick out the perfect glasses for her, she treated the lady like an auntie, it was nice to see. The Dr answered all my questions about contacts and general eye health he is extremely knowledgeable. He had a sample of my contact prescription and he let me have it along with a a starter pack of solution and a case. After my follow up appointment they made ordering my prescription really easy. No stars would be best to say the least. It took what seems like forever to get an appointment. Today my appointment was 10:30am I typically like to show up 10 minutes prior (new patient form filled out & referral on hand). Did not get called to the back till 10:54 for my eye exam then I had to wait another 20 minutes to actually speak to the eye specialist. Specialist called me back & his attitude was very ugly & he seemed annoyed with my concern about MY EYE! He "evaluated" me in less than 2 minutes before sending me off. On top of the staff had no manners and were gossiping about other coworkers the whole waiting room was able to hear their conversation. I will NOT be returning here in the future. Also would like to add I would NOT recommend this place to friends or family. read more

I woke up with something in my eye and I couldn't get it out. I called the office and it left a message. They called me back within a couple of hours. The receptionist told me to come in right away. Dr Alanis looked at my eye and he cleared it right away. It was quick and painless. read more

I cannot say enough about Dr. Khan. A friend was referred to this office by Pomona Valley Hospital. My friend had some serious retinal damage, so Dr. Khan came in for the consult on a Saturday afternoon. In the end my friend needed laser surgery done at a different facility. Dr. Khan was very clear that my friend's retinal damage was way beyond anything Park Ave. Optometry was able to do, but he spent a good two hours running tests, taking pictures and so forth. He then spent another hour helping my friend navigate the Covered California bureaucracy. In the end, Dr. Khan was able to get my friend to a doctor that was able to help. read more

Poor customer service. The girls in the front desk is a complete idiot. I was the first one in line line 20 minute before they opened. I signed in and sat down. Next thing I know four people get called in ahead of me. I got angry and left. My wife went to the front desk and asked why everyone was going a head of us. The girl in the front desk said that the other people were here first. My wife asked the guy that was third in line and he confirmed that we were the first ones. She said that I didn't sign in, but she was looking at a different list for some reason there was two list when you sign in. She must be new and they must be scraping the bottom of the barrel and hiring people that can't even follow something as simple as calling peoples names in order apparently this is to difficult for her. If you see people who signed in after you and they get called in first say something or you will be waiting there like an idiot. I am done with this place. Please don't consider this place if you value costumer service and your time. read more

I've been to a lot of eye doctors since I've worn glasses almost my whole life and I've always left never wanting to return. I came here for the first time a couple days ago and I couldn't have been more pleased. The lady who does the first three test was so patient with me even though I kept flinching every time that machine blows air in your eye and she had to do it about 5-6 times she still laughed about it with me and never got angry. Dr. Alanis was absolutely hands down one of the best I have ever seen. I am so happy with how patient he was, taking the time to listen about different problems I've been having with my vision and helping me get a new prescription so I can finally see! I the love this place! From the moment I called, I spoke to the DR about my insurance etc... I'm a Over The Road Truck Driver and its very hard getting an appt anywhere for me, but the DR told me to "come on in" I did and he took GREAT care of me, they even carried the DKNY frames I had been looking for! The girls @ this office are THE BEST they helped me find what looked best on me...and thank you Dr. Alanis for making me see great again! The following day I went back with my husband and another driver from our trucking company, Dr. Alanis seen them BOTH on short notice! He is AWESOME!
