Our family began coming here when Dr. Takemura merged with this office. Last year I received really good service with Dr. Quach, and even better this year with Dr. Hoshi. The staff here are very friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and take the time to ensure that your needs and concerns are addressed. Dr. Hoshi has great personality and has been great with me and my family. The office staff gives you the option to schedule with your preferred doctor, and Dr. Takemura is still here with Joy (from his old office). All the doctors seem good and knowledgeable. Wonderful experience! Great service and beautiful interior. Came here for eye exam and get prescription glasses. They were super nice and helpful and was able to squeeze me in before the end of the year. All the staff were super nice and helpful. My eye exam was very thorough and they had new machines and new technology which is super cool. The doctor was very knowledgeable and even gave me tips on how to fix my dry eyes naturally without medication. She was super competent and very nice at the same time. I have been coming here for 4 years now, it started with myself, then brother and today, I brought my mom in! Got her first ever eye exam, they scanned her retina, checked her vision multiple times in one session, showed us the xray exams and explained how the inside of her eyes are healthy. Huge relieve for me to hear that. The doc did a great job in testing and retesting moms vision to make sure she was getting the best prescription for her vision. The receptionist and the lady who shows you the glasses options was very kind and both very nice. The doc did offer us one of her packages, as we were paying cash. Great deal, $180 for a nice set of glasses with prescription! Will continue to visit and bring any of my friends who are looking for an optometrist. 5/5 recommend! read more

CUSTOMER SERVICE: During the pandemic, they are fully care about the sanitizing situation. 1) by appointment only. 2) Sanitizing hands and checking temperature first when arrival. 3) After u try on each frame, they let you put on the table, instead of putting it back. After you leave, they will sanitize all frames. Staff there are very nice, Claudia was very patient and super kind! They are not pushing at all. Variety of choices: -0.5 It's a small store, so their frame choices are not too much, I didn't find a one that I really really love. but they have branded frames. Nice local optometry. The store has a large variety of frames from designer to more affordable options. The staff are very knowledgeable able the insurance benefits to maximize you selections. In particular they do a really good job at helping you choose between lens options that are cost effective and useful. I had an issue with one of my frames and they were able to help with a warranty replacement at minimal cost; just told them about it over the phone and sent them a few pictures and a within a week later it was taken care of. Having a 2 and 4 year old, it is really hard to find a place that will have the patience to cater to my boys. Knowing this I was struggling to find an optometrist who can connect with my kids. I was fortunate to ask my friend for a referral and they told me that I must try Dr. Hoshi. To my surprise she was truly amazing. She really knew how to connect with my son, speaking to him in his own language and knowing how to interact through his sporadic behaviors. Knowing that she has kids of her own I feel is an advantage over some of the many Doctors out there. The customers service is also great. From the moment you walk in and leave the building you are always greeted with a smile from the front desk. They really take good care of you and your children. My family and I have been coming here I think 9 years now? We love Dr Hoshi. She definitely takes her time with you and she's very informative. I love the fact that she explains everything . Her staffs are the best! You can try on as many glasses you want and you don't have to put them back on the shelves. My family and I have been going to Diamond Bar Optometric Center for probably 6ish years now, and Dr. Hoshi and Angelina are always sOOOo sweet, professional, and kind! Making an appointment is always easy, and I'm treated with respect, yet also with an easy-going attitude by all the staff members I've encountered. Dr. Hoshi is a true professional, and is not only great with kids, but also people of all ages! There's a kid-friendly space in the waiting area for fidgety kids to pass the time waiting at something that could be scary for a small child. Even though I don't have kids, I appreciate that extra step! Also a plus: they don't use that machine for glaucoma that puffs air into your eyes! I know a lot of people don't like that method, so they use something else :-) The selection of glasses is really good, and Dr. Hoshi and Angelina always help me choose a frame that not only fits my face shape, but also is realistic with my incredibly high prescription, which requires thick, heavy lenses. I'm usually able to find something that is a happy medium between functional and trendy with their help. I also haven't had any issues with insurance or anything like that, and my contacts are shipped to me quickly. One time, my contacts got stolen from my doorstep, and I was able to get a replacement easily after speaking with Dr. Hoshi! My 3.5 year old son had an appointment with Dr. Hoshi and I can only say that it was such an wonderful experience. My son is energetic and always on the go so we were a little worried that he wouldn't be able to sit still for the exam. In comes Dr. Hoshi and she captured his attention the entire time. He actually stayed in his seat, he was laughing and he such a wonderful time! She's absolutely amazing with children and I know my son can't wait for his next eye exam! I've been coming here for years, such a beautiful and renovated optometrist office with good vibes from the staff! Honestly it's the staff that keeps me coming back here. They are friendly, on time, and just so easy to talk to. As soon as I entered I was greeted with a smile! Within a minute it was my turn to take pictures of my eyes and the woman assisting me noticed how dirty my glasses were and she cleaned them for me and offered to adjust them! I was then taken to see Dr Hoshi for my eye exam. Dr Hoshi is so kind, genuine, and personable, she explains everything in simple English and allows for questions, and it was so cool to see the pictures of my healthy eyes! Trying on glasses is my favorite part, I love how sanitized they are! Once I try on a pair of glasses I leave them on the tables so they will be sanitized before they go back on the shelves! They have so many beautiful glasses and sunglasses to chose from! As a nurse, I'm on a computer screen for hours and I was reminded to get the blue light protection and for my glasses convert to sunglasses when I'm in the sun and I got both options! I found this business through Yelp after I was having problems with my eyes. The eye doctor I normally see didn't have any openings until 3 weeks from today. I explained to Angelina at the front desk that I was experiencing pain and pressure in my eyes so she spoke to Dr. Hoshi and they were able to accommodate me that same day. I was very concerned that I may be developing glaucoma or that my vision would soon be affected. This was by far the best visit I have ever had to an optometrist. After doing some tests, Dr. Hoshi explained everything she observed while examining my eyes and answered any and all questions I had. She is very professional but also very easy to talk to. The sign on the door said by appointment only and they could have easily turned me away today but they didn't and I am thankful for that. The office is very clean and they use the latest state of the art equipment. I've made up my mind that I am coming here from now on. If you're looking for a new eye doctor, give Dr. Hoshi a try. I called the optometrist office yesterday to make an appointment. I never went to that office. The lady who ansered my call immediately asked my name , phone number, DOB and last four digits of my SSN over the phone. I felt uncomfortable to provide her those personal information over the phone, but she said she has to verify my insurance before she can make an appointment for me with the doctor. I gave her my personal information and she verified my VSP plan is active. I ended up not to make an appointment and told her to delete my information on her computer. I also told her not to write down my personal information on the paper. Anyway, I wish she could just make an appointment for me without asking my DOB and last four SSN. I prefer to verity my information in person and do not like her way pushing me to give out my DOB and last four SSN over the phone. Hopefully she did not keep my information on her PC or on a paper. So even the optometrist seems like a good doctor according to most of the reviews in Yelp, I will give up this office and go somewhere else. They made me feel that their first priority is money, not their services. I was new to that office, but the staff did not say any word about what services they can provide to me, instead, asked how can I pay them for my appointment. I actually have $900 available in my health savings account so it does not matter whether I have VSP or not. My son also has VSP and $300 in his health savings account. We live in Diamond Bar and planned to try this local office this year.... Too bad they lost two potential customers. read more

Made an appointment two weeks ago for yesterday. When my daughter and myself arrived, there weren't any patients which was great didn't have to worry about crowded place. They also follow COVID guidelines, the place was very clean and open. PRO-TIP make sure to print out the forms they send you so it'll be a quick check in. We live in the neighborhood and were doing one of those weekend stroll and my daughter wanted to go into every store in the plaza and they happened to have pedi optometrist service which i have been avoiding due to her bad experience previously. I was concerned for this as well but Dr Hoshi was super awesome with her. They were chatting and getting her to cover one eye and the other and following with all the props she used. I've went through all of Yelp to find a kid friendly Optometrist. Dr. Hoshi and her staff Hali, Angelina, Claudia and Walter made my 4 and 5 year olds eye exams look easy. They ensured our visit with the cleanliness of their center and the safety of our health with temperature checks and had hand sanitizer being available. With one of my problem child's I thought they weren't going to get an exam out of him but Walter was patient and communicated well that he actually cooperated. Dr. Hoshi also made my kids comfortable by knowing how to grab there attention so she can go through her assessments and find there prescriptions.
