As the photo of that document shows, my deductible was fully applied to my cleanings, my remaining balance for the gum care was a flat $100.00, and my upcoming fillings were listed as a $0.00 patient responsibility. I paid my deductible upfront and paid the remaining $100.00 balance exactly as the document required. Months later, after my insurance had already processed the claims and paid them, they completely changed their story. They sent me a surprise bill demanding nearly $680.00, completely refusing to honor the pricing agreement their own staff printed and handed to me in December, claiming these prices were a courtesy estimate. They are trying to hold me responsible for this new, unexpected balance for both the cleanings and the fillings. Since I formally disputed these unfair charges in writing using their own December printout, the office locked me out of the billing portal so I couldn't access those records. Because they refuse to honor their written pricing, I have filed formal complaints with the North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners, the NC Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division, and my insurance company. I asked her to fix a small chip on my front tooth, and she suggested fixing a similar chip on the adjacent tooth. Afterward, I noticed that the tooth she "fixed" was noticeably shorter than all of my other teeth, which wasn't discussed or approved by me. At the time, I didn't realize the extent of the change, but when I returned to speak with her, she dismissed my concerns and insisted my tooth was already like that, which isn't true. She also claimed she only took a little bit off, but that small change made a big difference, and the tooth shouldn't have been altered at all without my consent. She didn't take responsibility for the mistake or offer a solution and left me talking to someone else without addressing the issue. I take great pride in my teeth, and I'm upset that my tooth was altered without my consent. It's noticeably shorter than the rest of my teeth, and the difference is very obvious. The lack of professionalism and empathy was disappointing, and I feel the tooth should never have been touched in the first place.

After I healed from the surgery, I moved my family from this office for good. I was in so much pain and almost jumped out of the chair. Dr. Sunar was really rough from the initial numbing shot. This was my 4th Root Canal... I have never experienced pain as I did that day. Frustrated because I was squirming and in pain he decided to stop and schedule me to come back. I will NVER GO BACK! I immediately contacted my insurance company to explain my experience and my reasoning for not wanting to go back and to explain that the procedure was not complete. I chose this office from the list that my insurance company emailed to me only to find out that this office is NOT an Aetna in network provider. I was charged $187.20 which I should have questioned. I should have only had to pay the copay. (I want my money back}. Bottom line, Dr. Sunar's staff is great but Dr. Sunar himself needs more training...according to his business card, he is a DMD and NOT an Endodontist. I schedule a consultation bc my dentist referred me to go see an Endodontist. I have been in a terrible pain for almost a week before I went to see Dr.Sunar bc they could not get me in to see him. His bed side manners are terrible, he had no empathy toward my pain nor the two options for treatment that he gave me were good for me bc of my medical history , which he never checked. All he wanted was put me thru a very costly treatment . He told me that I had an infection but didn't prescribe any antibiotics for me. Im Latin but fluent in English and Italian and I heard him telling his staff member that I needed a Spanish speaking person to explain to me the two treatment options, which I thought that was a racist comment on his part bc I didn't request a translator. I would never recommend this doctor to anybody that needs a root canal or any other treatment , he has a dollar sign in his forehead.
