The kids were going nonstop and were EXHAUSTED by the time we left! When we first got there around 3pm on a Sunday it wasn't too crowded and the kids had free reign to go everywhere without waiting. By the time we were leaving it was starting to fill up, so I'm glad we went earlier in the day. This place is clean, has plenty to do, and most of the staff is pretty friendly. As an observer, make sure you bring a sweatshirt because they keep it pretty chilly in there on account of everyone running around and getting sweaty! I was a little annoyed that we couldn't bring in waterbottles (metal refillable ones, not plastic one use bottles). The girl made me take them back out to my car. I understand they want to make money, but seriously for as much as I paid for the 2 hour pass... on a Sunday (I recommend going on a weekday... much cheaper) and had to buy socks, the least they could do is let us bring our own water. I understand no outside snacks or food, but c'mon. Sometimes I just don't understand why these places can't just let you go and have a good time without gouging you completely. All in all, the kids had a great time. We will come back...just not on the weekend! Haha!

When we first moved to Hemet I was so excited that there was a lake down the way. The largest man…read moremade lake in Cali. We found the blue prints of the original plans at the Hemet Library in the historical section. They lied so many different ways from Sunday to get these plans approved, but... they were. The Cafe that was supposed to be there isn't along with a few more amenities. This was a quarry that turned into a lake that was supposed to attract so many new fishing tourists and utterly failed. To start with it is only open Wednesdays through Sundays. The marina and lake access are typically open from 5:45 am to 4:15 pm, though hours can vary, with last entry at 3:15 pm. The lake is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. The boat rentals are outrageous and coming back so early is horrible. The only thing I've ever caught here are dead birds stuck floating due to fishing line never being removed from the trees above water. I have seen fish here. None of them look healthy except the trout they have shipped in trout stocking season that typically runs from November to April. You have to pay to park, you have to pay to fish, you have to pay to walk, you have to pay, pay, pay. This is outrageous. Now you have hired people sitting in lawn chairs with umbrellas making sure you aren't walking the trail for free? #epicfail. I tried to walk down to the boat launch today to see where the water level was because I'd considered trying to come back again... I was stopped. I was told that because I didn't pay that I am not longer able to walk down to the docks for liability reasons. Are you serious? So if I paid $4 to walk the trail, or the $9 to fish then I would no longer be in danger? I am over you. It's only 45 minutes to two separate lakes that are much better. Have a good day. Temecula is already a beautiful city escape in Southern California. There are so many ways to…read moreexplore this city: hot air balloons, limos, old town frontier ambiance, wine tasting, jeep wine tours, trolleys, etc. One way I've never thought to try was by horseback, until now. It is THE best way to see this area, in my opinion! For those concerned about social distancing, Western Skies offers small private tours. My ride was for myself and my immediate family. Their tours are up to 4 guests only at this time. I am lucky to have come across Western Skies Horseback Riding through family and friends on Facebook. At the moment, they're available on instagram @westernskieshorsebackriding and Facebook. I immediately reached out to them on FB and Kristen responded promptly. She is so helpful and welcoming. For the first time rider, we chose an hour tour and Kristen *and Scott, guided us attentively throughout the entire ride with their expertise and encouragement. They offer one hour or two hour rides. Initially I wanted the ride closer to sunset, but it worked out anyway even with an earlier time. We got lucky with the beautiful clouds and breeze. Either time you choose, I'd give some leeway on time (an additional 15-30 min or so to consider, in case the ride doesn't end precisely on the hour. I didn't realize it until afterwards, and I'm so thankful, but Kristen didn't rush our ride back and our tour was a little bit longer than I expected. What a treat!!! Kristen went above and beyond for us!!! She and her staff are wonderful and knowledgeable. Hospitality is exceptional and so sweet. Thank you for the perfect afternoon. FYI, there are safety concerns so age/weight may be a factor to consider for comfort during this activity. For instance, anyone under 18 yrs must wear (their) helmet provided. Weather is also a factor, so if it's too hot, be wary of hydration and comfort, but luckily, we had amazing blue skies and a breezy day. They kindly offered us water when we arrived, as well. Kristen suggests jeans/long pants and boots/close-toed shoes. My family took me there for my birthday and it is the best birthday I've had (in such a long time), thanks to Kristen and her beautiful horses. My family and I are very inexperienced riders (son is a teenager), as we've only ridden horses a handful of times while on vacations. My family and I felt comfortable immediately. Her horses are so docile and mannerisms are so gentle. Kristen even allows guests to ride around their corral to ensure rider is more confident, before hitting the trail. There are small slopes and dirt/pavement along the ride. Our ride had the most beautiful scenery, with some unique sightseeing landmarks, so you'll really enjoy the views. She and her staff took photos for us along the entire ride. I didn't anticipate that, so I did take my phone out on occasion, and it still allowed me to enjoy the experience and be present in the moment. Next time, I know I can disconnect entirely though because they capture wonderful photos for me to have (they will airdrop to you if it's an iPhone) I won't reveal too much, as this is truly a one-of-a-kind experience, but I hope my notes help and offer suggestions to explore this beautiful area. Great family excursion, or even a romantic date idea! I have not seen my boys laugh so much and enjoy an activity together like this! Maybe we are going stir crazy from the quarantine, I don't know, but I can't imagine a more memorable way to spend an afternoon. Side note: It is such a fun workout! I didn't realize this, but if you plan this excursion, and not always athletic, keep in mind to keep your activities mellow after your ride. We loved the entire experience, and will do this again, definitely. We do feel a little tender and sore, similar to how I feel after a very long bike ride, but it just lets us know another way to enjoy a fantastic workout. Thank you again very much, Kristen. We rode at sunset and Kristen allowed us the flexibility "to be" with our horses. If we were comfy trotting, we could trot, if we wanted to canter, we cantered. Absolutely wonderful horses that were completely well-behaved, gentle and still could do more than just walked if asked. The scenery and landscape was to die for. Thank you Kristen for giving me and my family the best time EVER!!!!!

This park has something for everyone. Large green space and picnic areas. 2 full basketball…read morecourts. A skate park. Water play. 2 big play structures. Rock play. Pump tracks / BMX area. Rope ladder/climbing area for adults/big kids. Lots of paved walking/jogging paths. There's lots of parking. We saw one restroom at the park. It was clean-- no graffiti, clean floor. Water pressure was low in the sink. While we were there there was maintenance man cleaning the restrooms. Getting to the park is a bit of a trek if you're not from the neighborhood. A lot of winding through residential roads and not great cell phone service. My GPS took me on the strangest route, passing many strip malls anchored by smoke shops and liquor stores. The park itself is in a residential neighborhood. The rope climbing area is next to the zip lines. Unfortunately the seats that are needed to sit/zip down the cables are missing. I have no idea how long the seats have been gone. This was a disappointment, because this is what I came to see. However, based on the length and angle of the cable, it gives safety red flags. With the seats missing, the zip lines are not useable.

Some of the dinosaurs could definitely use a little maintenance, and parts of the park feel a bit dated and cheap, but that honestly adds to its quirky roadside-attraction charm. And for fans of Pee-wee's Big Adventure, this is a must-do stop -- it's the filming location where Andy tries to kick Pee-Wee's ass by the dinosaur. That alone makes it worth the visit. Fun, nostalgic, and great for a quick stop -- just go in with the right expectations and enjoy the weirdness.
