They have very fresh produce and even had rambutan and musang king durian. More variety of live seafood: clams, eel, crabs, live fishes. The people who worked there are very friendly and even offered to help carry my groceries to my car.

Dont bother shopping here if you are handicap. None of the motorized carts operate and the phone lines ring busy.

DO NOT let the outside fool you.... In this Industrial Part of town, filled with Industrial Buildings, you can find A Mart Store. What a find! Aahhhh, another BULK store that does not require Membership just to enter, browse thru and purchase stuffs... This Bulk Supermarket, reminds me alot like Sam's Club or Costco without Membership Card at all. Was here on a recent visit Friday May 3rd with Hubs after work @ 16:00hrs ish. Some items are reasonably priced while some items are slightly higher in price as compared to any Grocer that I have been to. NOT all items are in Bulk, and you can also purchase individual items that they have. Do come inside, if that tickle you fancy... Refrigerated items just as Meats, Asian Vegetables, Energy Drinks, aisle of Condiments, Sauces, Cooking Utensils Galore! Bulk items like Rice, Beverages, Energy Drinks to name a few if you are throwing a party. The staffs are indeed helpful if you require any assistance from them. They are open everyday of the week. Definitely will return when needed if I am too lazy to drive all across town for my Asian Grocery Needs. The lovely lady who was at the register counter, her name was Arsa was indeed welcoming when I have several queries about A Mart Store. She answered them well. CASH and Credit Cards transactions are always accepted in A Mart Store. Tip : Come here in the Morning, any day if you want to find the Meats/Poultry, which they stocked up Daily. @101/2013

There were a lot of people in line when the cashier stopped helping her customer and stood screaming at everyone that the line starts here and made everyone move over closer to her. As she was screaming people laughed at her several people left. about 3 people ahead of me a women put her 2 item on the counter and the cashier again screamed at her that she couldn't reach them. The customer moved her items closer she screamed at again that she couldn't reach them. Again she moved her water and cheese stick closer to her again, literally with 6-8 inches away from the cashier and handed her money. The cashier tossed her money back at her and said "I have a bad back, I work 8 hours a day I don't have to put up with your shit" This is where the rest of the people that were in line walked out. I am still laughing at the cashier.

I enjoy shopping for groceries and life's sustenances at a locally owned store more than anything…read more When I was driving on 38th westbound to get somewhere this AM, this store didn't escape my notice (the exterior decals on the glass window was so visible as I drove past by it.) Since I wasn't in a hurry, I made a quick turn to a side street to park my car and went to investigate. And I LOVED it. This store is in operation since 1984. People who live in this neighborhood must love it; lucky them! I have to admit though; certain things are bit pricey but what's great about this place is the fact that they do generous sales on items throughout the store. For instance, a jar of Dalmatia Quince Spread (pear flavor) was originally $6 with some change but it was on sale at the price of $3.99! I had recently run out of a fig spread so I immediately grabbed this one. There is a cafe where they can make craft coffee beverages. Not only that, there is a pizzeria, sushi section, soap/beauty section, vitamins, alcohol section etc. Although the store is not massive, it's a good size where they pretty much carry most of the daily needs (although I'm not sure about toilet paper/paper towels and stuff like that; I didn't need any of those so I simply didn't look for it.) I saw some people sitting in the cafe studying with their books and computers. There were also families with small children eating their late morning meals. It's simply a great place for any occasion was the observation I gathered. My cashier (Sean) was very pleasant to me. I forgot to bring my reusable grocery bag so he asked me if I needed a bag to which I said yes. He didn't charge me for the bag when I looked around the receipt. Thank you! I hope I'll have reasons or business up in the neighborhood soon so I can make a stop again.

I always find this location of NG clean. The employees are courteous and friendly. The parking has never been an issue as the lot has ample room for cars. With that said, it's a bit surprising to see the 3.5 star rating as of mid August of 2024. Today I found a delicious and delightful sparkling water. Zero calories, no added sugar but is so refreshing and flavorful. The 12oz cans were $1.98 (each). Not bad. I mostly get produce when I go to NG just like any other day, They always have the freshest veggies and fruits. The quality is something I can always count on. I also get water (refill.) Per gallon price for members (doesn't cost to become one) is $0.29 which is the lowest out of all the other grocery chains. Thanks for being around to provide us with our daily necessities.

My relationship with this Safeway continues to be complicated. I had sworn off going to the store…read moreearlier this summer when for the second time in a row, I was in a line about 25 people deep at 6pm on a weekday, and only one cash register was open. (One day I waited for over 40 minutes just to check out.) Admittedly, most of my friends already made it clear I was crazy for continuing to frequent this store, but I feel pretty damn strongly about supporting the only grocery store in this neighborhood, so I persisted. Nevertheless, it became clear that the Safeway corporation was not respecting these employees by appropriately staffing the store, and I decided I would stop going entirely. Fast forward a few months, and the Safeway employees went on strike. I was pretty encouraged, supported the effort, and hoped for the best. After things were resolved, I decided to give the store a shot again, and pretty quickly it became clear that staffing the registers was still not a priority. Admittedly, I really don't understand how Safeway thinks this is a profitable maneuver--in order to spend money, consumers need to be able to check out. And guess what, if you're buying more than a few items, a self-checkout is not workable. But apparently this is the corporate game. I do want to give a shoutout to the stalwart employees who have persisted despite these tribulations. I'm always happy when I see Terri at the register or Bryan at the meat counter. Employees like them make all the difference here. I just wish they had better support.

Some of the employees can be a little rough around the edges I guess, but they're always really nice to me and I see them putting up with it with a lot of BS from some pretty obnoxious customers. And I know they're putting up with a lot from Safeway corporate management as well, so in light of all that I think that the people here are great. the reason I keep coming here because it's a Safeway and they got stuff you can't get at a lot of other grocery stores. The reason a lot of people are skeptical about this store is because there are sometimes some shady characters in the parking lot. That tends to feed speculation, I have witnessed some minor and petty crimes and if that's something that's absolutely intolerable for you I guess my thinking is a man you're in the city. I have one complaint about this store, and it's probably not what you're gonna see in most of the reviews. Because of the high rate of theft they've got like a sub store inside the store. If you wanna buy any cosmetics OTC medication's anything like that you have to use this stupid sub store. There will only be one checker. There will always be somebody in line in front of you who is taking 20 minutes to check out. I have considered on more than one occasion just walking out with my groceries and going to check out at the regular check stand. Like seriously what are you gonna do? I'm not stealing, I'm still gonna pay for it. that's pretty much the only unacceptable customer service I get at this store.
