This is a great little store nestled in the Cap Hill/North Cap Hill/Uptown pocket. They have a beautiful looking meat/seafood counter that makes your eyes drool. As well as locally sourced milk and creamer cooler (you can return the glass bottle for some money back) , ice creams, pots of soups they make in-house, and lots of to-go type meal boxes. It's fun to look at some of the random imported goods. And funky flavored potato chips you'll never find in a big grocery store chain. The little connected wine shop is a must! They have quite a few bottles on display, and several are reasonably priced. The person working is always there to help you choose if you need it. The biggest drawback is the price, which it is very pricey here, but it just goes with the vibe. This isn't a chain! So, it's more for small-scale shopping or specialty shopping. And one other con I'd say is their very limited hours of operation. It was tough for me if I wanted to stop here during the week before or after work, because they open late in the morning when I'm usually already at work and close early in the p.m. when I haven't yet left work. So, I couldn't always get there! I wonder why they aren't open a bit more, but I can only guess they must do so well that they don't need it! It's an especially festive time to come shop here during the holidays, if you are looking for consumable gifts. I'm glad to have it in the neighborhood! read more

I've shopped my neighborhood store since it opened but will miss being able to stop by and get something on the way home from work as I usually work until 6-6:30 and they now close at 6:30. This review is for the Denver Airport. Had a racist encounter with employees. Left a voice mail for James whom employees said was the manager. Wrote to company and haven't heard back yet. Did not give me my discount. Product offering changed for the pork green Chile soup. When I asked about a previous size I had. One employee went over to another and said that I was complaining and started making chimp noises and singing the Lion King about me. My crew member heard it and when I called it out... the same employee offered me a larger amount. I requested a refund and waiting to hear back from names regarding my complaint. Next step I will consult my airline leaders not to utilize them and Denver Airport Concessions. Very hurt and disappointed. I will never go back and delete past favorable reviews. read more

Marczyks has really taken a tumble in quality and Integrity. The baguettes are now soggy and floppy, the grape leaves are moldy, the guacamole is always brown, the drinks from the case that cost $6 are never cold anymore because it's so warm there all the time. The employees look exhausted and pissed off all the time. And now they're changing their hours which is a major inconvenience to people who work 10-6 everyday! I also have it on good authority they have fired almost half their staff to save money but posted on their signs they are changing their hours to help employees with " work life balance". This is false as the new hours are simply to cut costs and save the owners money. It really is such a bummer because it seems all food and groceries store have really taken a tumble in quality while doubling in price. This place could've been a saving grace from that but they are choosing profits over people. Now the shelves are half empty, the food molds crazy fast, the waits longer, and it just doesn't feel as good as it once did to shop there. read more

I've been coming here since we moved close by around 17 years ago. They have the neatest specialty foods and unique grocery items like cheeses, deli meats and seafood, not to mention fresh produce, and I live for their bakery items! Service is friendly and warm and the checkout lines, no matter how long, move quickly. Speaking of checkout lines, they have these bins next to the checkout area as you are waiting, and if you like caramels, you must grab one or three of their home made sea salt caramels. YUM. Nestled close by in the same building but with a different entrance, is their fabulous wine store. They have everything you would want for all tastes and needs. I have never not liked anything I've purchased there. And again with the service. All I do is tell them what I'm looking for, what I like and don't like, my price range, and voilá! The best wine appears. Don't pass this charming grocery store when you're on Colfax. They have a small parking lot. Due to the cumbersome and tiring road construction, I'd suggest getting here when they open. There is a limited amount of neighborhood street parking so be courteous! read more

It has been quite a few years since my last review and I've been to Marczyk's many times since then, so it's probably time for an update. This is a very pretty specialty grocery that offers a good-sized parking lot and a separate, but attached wine store. The grocery includes an interesting selection of dry goods, many of which are unusual or unique. There are excellent meat and seafood departments which specialize in premium products. There's a deli which offers sandwiches and has many prepared items plus a good selection of premium meats and cheeses. The produce selection is always great and there are bakery items, dairy, and a small frozen section including made in-house ice cream. I have always found the staff friendly and helpful. Pricing is high, but this is a specialty store with a focus on premium products. read more

From their meats, cheeses, grocery items all are unique and interesting. The small wine and liquor extension carries things you will not find at the big box stores. Are they priced like Walmart....like WTF?? No you pay for a curated experience with a wonderful ambiance. If you have ever visited Bi-Rite Market in San Francisco you will know what I mean. Me? I went to this location at the Denver airport and it was a bad experience. The ingredients were not listed on the sandwich packaging and the employees said they couldn't look it up. Even those that had some ingredients listed, it only listed the type of bread and not what was in it. For a family with food allergies like mine, this is a big barrier to eating food. I brought 4 premade sandwiches and 2 baked items to the cashier and he said he marked me down for two of one particular kind of sandwich, so I should grab another one. I explained I didn't want 5 sandwiches, I just wanted the 4. He made it seem like a real hassle to remove his own mistake. He gave me my total as $58 and I was charged $69. When I asked for the receipt, he removed the itemized portion and only gave me the total amount charged. I wouldn't go again based on this experience. read more

One of my favorite local "specialty" markets. Whenever i'm looking for something special this is where I head. They have great to go options and deli sandwiches as well. I wanted to do a tinned fish style board and they have incredible options including wild pulpo (yum). We also love their pirogies and ice cream. The milk & cookies flavor is awesome. Truly abhorrent. The chocolate covered raisins are stale, the jelly beans are stale, the chicken I bought has bruising on several cuts. Tastes like wet dog. Shut this sh*th*le down. They don't respect their customers. They don't give a flying flip about their produce or quality. The cashiers are alright and decent people. The deli counter is a ghost town every time I'm there. All I see is a manager on here half heartedly apologizing and not really doing much. Clearly there's a quality control problem. It sometimes smells like rotten veggies inside. So when we moved back to Denver for leaving for one year we were so excited to be able to shop here again, but it's really gone downhill. We were shopping here twice a week & had to stop. We probably wasted over $200 in buying spoiled food. We have received spoiled chicken from their meat counter, broccoli, tomatoes, & asparagus with mold. On a good day the vegetables have been sitting out so long within 2 days you have to eat them from when you purchase or you'll have to throw them away. Their customer service is also awful. We expressed to them how they sold us 3 lbs of spoiled chicken to which the man at the meat counter just replied "We get our chicken on Monday's and Thursday's." Also, you'll need to bag your own groceries they would rather stand there and do nothing than help you bag. This is such a disappointing review to write, but even after being let down 2 x a week for a month we will not be wasting anymore money here. read more
