What an amazing stay. This was a great historic hotel with all the comforts of home. That said there are updates that give you all the comforts you have at home. Cancelations policy even when a doctor's note for emergency surgery could be provided was denied a refund to our friends. The manager is a pleasant 22 year old with little experience. The place needs a good scrubbing . It is more of a low quality air b and b . It is an old (sort of )restored apartment building. The room we were originally shown was a converted attic . The room we took ; Our coffee pot was broken. Towels smelled and I had to request the place be recleaned. No closet and only one dresser that was being used. But we were lucky another guest stated she had no sink in her bathroom. Another guest said well at least it doesn't smell. Not a review you expect from a boutique hotel. I showed pictures to a family member and he said not even the Adam's family but more like the "Monster's home. Sorry was expecting more. Lesson learned read reviews. read more

I was asked by the owner to write a review which is quite fitting since I was furious with my visit at this very filthy hotel and want to make sure other people are aware of it. The Manager, however, is an angel and Works like a slave for the owner who never shows up and just collect the money charging $350 a night for a fleabag hotel. The rooms are filthy and unfit for a dog. If you look at my pictures, you will see the same filthy carpets that are never cleaned customer to customer. I had to wash and brush teeth in the kitchen sink, there is no sink in the bathroom There were issues with the door locking as far as safety you could not get in or out. I was constantly locked out because they are so lazy. They don't want to use keys or fobs. They use the excuse that people take them well that's kind of what happens at every hotel if you're going to use electronic code at least make sure they're working properly. The keypad would never let you in you had to wait and do all sorts of special selections in order to get into your room. At one point, I told the manager look maybe I should just go find a room somewhere else. She said everything is booked. I was forced to stay there in those conditions. The towels smelled like dog pee. I was pretty sure that dogs had slept on them. I was furious that I had to use those to bathe with I mentioned it to the manager and I put them outside my door. Overall, this was one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed out. I want to make sure that people know that so they don't stay there. I know that the people on my floor were very nice and several of them were very unhappy with the accommodations. There was a blonde lady with a son across from me , who said that the door was not working either and the hotel was in decay. There was a Korean couple that moved in with a son next-door to me and said they were not happy with the hotel either and said oh my God I think this is what it is. Many people don't write yelp reviews or don't bother to follow up after you only hear the good reviews because that's what the owner is pushing for but needs to be told so people don't stay here unfortunately I had read a good review and thought it would be OK but had reservations that was where I made my mistake. The no cancellation policy really bothered me, but I did not pursue it. That was my mistake. The owner had told me she would not refund any money if I had to cancel so she has a NO CANCELLATION POLICY NO MATTER WHAT. THIS IS NOT GOOD WHEN IT COMES TO AIRLINES AND OTHER THINGS. ALSO, SHE TRASH TALK ALL THE OTHER HOTELS IN TOWN PARTICULAR A LADY ACROSS THE STREET WHO DOES A BED-AND-BREAKFAST. I HOPE SHE WILL FIND OUT ABOUT IT. LASTLY, I WAS TOLD THAT EVERYONE IN THE TOWN HATES THE OWNER OF THIS HOTEL. PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT THIS PHOTOS. YOU WILL SEE FOR YOURSELF. I'm not writing a review from the perspective of someone who went there, I am writing to advise those considering staying there to carefully read their refund policy. If you read "Linda R."'s review, I was the friend who was supposed to travel with her and her husband, however, my boyfriend needed surgery six weeks before our trip. The doctor said he could not travel six weeks after this surgery so we had to cancel. We also had to cancel a similar stay in Jackson Hole as Grand Teton was the supposed to be the first part of our trip. In fairness, the refund policy was in the very extensive packet after all the details about the park, not anywhere near the relevant stay details. Should I have gotten trip insurance....in hindsight, I guess so. The other hotel gave us back our entire reservation payment minus $25 fee. We were given back 2 of the 4 days we were supposed to be there so we lost $550! Six weeks prior to our arrival the park wasn't even open for the season. We didn't cancel in prime season the day before. There were empty rooms during the time we were supposed to stay. I think it is a harsh policy that should have been conveyed at the time of booking. I will say Tami was very pleasant at booking, but the description of the place should be updated and more accurate. There were not robes in the room, nor was breakfast available according to our friends who stayed there , which was in the description when we booked this place .... not a make or break reason to book there, but nevertheless, inaccurate description. read more

It's right next to the entrance of the park but you must schedule a park tour before you book the hotel as the north entrance is only accessible to tour guides e people who work at the park. This hotel was a great stay for our Yellowstone trip. Right outside the park entrance, it made for a great location and easily accessible to the park. The staff was so nice and helpful, easy to get in touch with and happy to give great recommendations. Great restaurants were around within walking distance. Absolutely awful. I'm shocked the fire department hasn't shut it down. The clutter, the stacks of furniture and old bedding in hallways and rooms packed tight with unnecessary furniture (I had a single room with SEVEN carved bear side tables. I put 4 of them in the hallway to make room for my 2 suitcases) was beyond unsightly. It was dangerous. I had to request maid service and PAY EXTRA for it. There was NO CLOSET, just a $15 cardboard organizer you'd buy your child for their first college dorm room. The owner was incredibly rude, so I just avoided her after the first day. The neon sign for the hotel and the Christmas lights outside the bedroom window were so bright I had to tape cardboard to the window so I could sleep. STAY ANYWHERE BUT HERE. read more

Beware if you make reservations at this property and need to cancel due to governmental travel restrictions as a result of a worldwide pandemic. Not only will they not refund your money, they will re-book your room without refunding even the money for that, thereby making twice the money on the room. Additionally, they claim that their overly-burdensome cancellation policies (that they lied about to the credit card company) are the result of cancellations by so many ''foreigners" over the years! Sounds kind of racist to me. You decide. Only make reservations here if you can afford to lose your money! And they remove any comments that don't put them in a positive light. I enjoyed my stay at Park Hotel Yellowstone. The hotel is literally on the edge of Yellowstone National Park, and many animals like Elk and Bison from the park wander into town and show little regard to humans. (Perhaps because they are gigantic) In fact, there was a mule deer in the yard next door to the hotel, when we arrived and also cotton tail rabbits running around in the streets. The historical and famous Roosevelt Arch is just a block away from the hotel. The river is also only a block. There are restaurants just across the street or down the street from the hotel that are decent including Cowboys which has Bison Burgers. The town is incredibly small but getting the hotel was almost as if we were getting to stay in Yellowstone, even though we were in the off season, when Yellowstone does not offer any hotels within the park. The hotel was absolutely lovely. Many of the design features are in the craftsmen building style and the building itself dates back more than a hundred years. Around the time that the US Parks department took over Fort Yellowstone, this building was built. Despite its age, it has been retrofitted with all the modern trappings like wireless internet, plenty of plugins for electronics, clean modern bathrooms, and flat screen TVs. Our particular room had a retro style, electric heater which looked like an old kettle heater. This was not the sole source of heat though as there was a thermostat that could be operated for regular heating. The interior of the hotel was eloquently decorated in cabin and woodsy themes. You truly felt like you were transported to a mythical cabin in a rugged wilderness. The rooms we had were combined together by a walkway and they offered us all the comforts and joys of home such as a Kitchen equipped with a dishwasher, range, oven, and cookware and also a newer model washer and dreyer. The only thing to consider is that due to the age of the building and the wood floor boards, you do hear people quite well going up and down the stairs outside the rooms. The owner Tami went out of her way to accommodate us after a mix-up with Priceline when we booked. It is better to book from the direct website than to do what we did and book through an online travel agency. Tami was fair and honest, and very personable. If you meet her its like meeting an old friend even though she is the hotel owner. Parking was available on the street outside the hotel. We never had any problems finding a space to park. Overall I think this hotel has great value especially when considering you get all the comforts of home right on the doorstep of one of the world's most beautiful nature areas. I would likely book again if I want to travel to the northwest entrance of Yellowstone near Mammoth Hot Springs. read more

Made reservations to stay here for five days in late August 2022 I had to pay upfront for my five days of hotel stay however after the flooding in June I wanted to cancel my reservation at this hotel because there was no access to the park from Gardiner. They they then told me that I could drive four hours away to the west entrance of the park on a daily basis. how ridiculous is that! Then they told me I could have a guide for $100 per person per day that would get me into the park via a service road Again how ridiculous! They initially refused to give me a refund. The owner was difficult to deal with she said she was so busy with the cancellations of reservations that she didn't have time to send me my refund unless she was able to rent that room the same days that I had rented it. I've never dealt with such poor customer service in my life. No other hotel around Yellowstone or even Tetons makes one pay for their entire stay upfront before you arrive. It is customary to pay a deposit and then you pay the full amount once you arrive. I was ready to Report them to the Better Business Bureau and get legal advice and to file a dispute with my credit card card company when they finally refunded a portion of my expense but they kept a percentage of it for reasons unknown I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Special thanks to Caitlyn and Tami for mailing me my earrings after staying at Park Hotel over the holidays! Its become a tradition for us to stay here during our annual pilgrimage to Yellowstone. We love the location: walking distance to the Roosevelt Arch, hot springs, plenty of restaurants, and a dog park. The rooms are clean with modern amenities and a vintage vibe. We appreciate the management allowing dogs so our pup was able to join in on the fun. Looking forward to staying with y'all next year! read more

The Park Hotel was a great way to start our Yellowstone Adventure. Tami met us in Bozeman and gave a narrated drive to Gardiner. She was full of helpful information about the town as well as the park. It is true you can see the park entrance from the intersection outside the Park Hotel. Tami went above and beyond for us in so many ways. I secretly corresponded with Tami several times prior to our trip. It was my wife's 65th birthday. As a surprise, I had arranged with Tami to mail ahead decorations. Tami decorated the place prior to arrival. Based on her recommendation, I ordered a birthday cake, which she picked up and had waiting in the suite. The spacious suite had everything we needed 2 bathrooms, fun art and art deco throughout the place. It was very clean and comfortable, thermostats in each bedroom, comfy beds. Plenty of hot water. The showers are beautiful in themselves. The kitchen included a table for all 5 of us, microwave, frig, and even laundry center. Tami was very responsive to our questions and requests She is so friendly and easy to talk to. Tami recommended Yellowstone Wild for a Lamar Valley tour, which was a 1000 % on the mark for us. What an amazing tour and guide. Park Hotel was great. but Tami made the trip unforgettable. read more

A natural distasteful of flooding has closed the north entrance of Yellowstone, the main attraction for this hotel. I had reservations which I cancel due to this and I have requested a refund with the hotel and Expedia and the owner first wouldn't respond to me emails until I filed a complaint and now refuses to do so even though she's told me she's given refunds to other people. I had such a wonderful time with my boyfriend in Gardiner a few years ago and I wanted to go back for our honeymoon, I saved up so we would be able to stay at nicer hotel but now I see I was probably better off staying at a cheap motel than this overpriced 3 star hotel with poor management. And I'm not the only one they've stolen money from just go check out their Facebook page. read more

We called late after a long day in Yellowstone. We had traveled all day with our three teenage girls and were all beat. We were thrilled to find this amazing place that wasn't a chain and had such a cool atmosphere. The girls said it was the best place we stayed all week! Room was great, very clean and well appointed. Beds were the most comfortable and the price was right. We stayed on the ground floor and would recommend that others reserve upper floors because our ground floor view was that of a FEMA looking trailer across the alley. But, honestly, the room was great. WE rented the room for two days and was very disappointing to came back after day one in Yellowstone Park to see that our room had not been made up. Beds were not made, coffee not replenished. In addition a staffer came in to remove a roll away during the day and forgot to lock our door. Not sure how long our room was not secured. read more

So! Went to this place for my wedding. Left my BLACK pugs in CHEYENNE WYOMING. Had the owner seriously text me telling me I had a dog in the room and that there was "dog hair on the walls and everything" saying she was having to "vacuum the walls". Again, no dogs ever in our room. Then sent me a photo of a piece of carpet with 3-4 white hairs on it. No joke. Sent me more pictures of the carpet. Continued to insinuate I was lying about my dogs being in Cheyenne. She was unbelievably rude and unprofessional. Rooms were completely over priced anyway. The lock on the front of the hotel AND the lock on our door didn't work at all. Anyone can walk in off the street and take whatever they want. Should have stayed at literally any other hotel in Gardiner, they are all much more courteous. Basically, if you stay here, you better wear plastic bags and not leave the couch to ensure no imaginary shaggy dog hair appears and you have the owner blowing up your phone through text messages with her petty bull. Grew up going to Gardiner and lived outside of Gardiner for years- I've never encountered a more rude person in that town. The people below us had a barking dog all night and as my husband said- if you're going to be this petty and rude about dog hair- DO NOT ALLOW PETS. (Her website says she does for $35) read more

This is a great little boutique hotel right outside the Gardner entrance to Yellowstone. My room had a sweet little kitchen and floor to ceiling windows with a view of the mountains. It's obvious that a lot of money was spent renovating this place and great attention was paid to the details and decoration. The rock shower is beautiful. I've now stayed at the Park Hotel Yellowstone on two occasions and both have been great experiences. Their rooms are unique and comfortable. Feels like staying in an apartment or someone's home vs. a sterile hotel/motel. They sent texts and emails in advance of my arrival with tons of useful information. I ended up stranded in the Park and being unable to get back to my room in time for check out. Tami, the owner, was very helpful and accommodating. My room was due for another guest, so they carefully gathered my things and held them for me until I could return - and then offered me another room for the next evening - at a reduced rate! Throughout my unexpected change in plans, Tami was easy to reach and responsive. Highly recommend this place if you want something with a little character and personal touch! read more
