Imagine, walking in the rain to find this building that doesn't have a lighted sign to find...in a foreign country, with vagrants about. Sounds like something from a horror movie. The front desk was fine checking in. Although they did give me information that was misleading and not correct. I had an upgrade? Access to a Club Lounge? Weird...you didn't mention that. Oh wait, the Lounge is closed. And the restaurant, oh yeah, closed too - relocated into a weird corner in the Lobby bar. Internet, it's free. Would I enter any personal information on it (thinking it was secure and I might get my identity stolen)? Absolutely not. Want to print a boarding pass? Not as easy as it sounds! And don't look to Guest Services to help - because they don't know anything about it. Room? Outdated? Absolutely. Could I hear kids and other people out in the hall...as well as the sirens throughout the night? Absolutely! Was it clean........eh, a little. Sketch part of town as also indicated by the many, many signs in the Lobby that said "Thieves look just like you and me".... Was I glad to check out? Absolutely.

The receptionist, Khun, was very helpful and friendly. We were assigned an Executive room with a view of the Christmas market. It was so lovely to see at night. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. The bath products smelled clean and fresh. The hotel lounge was not available at the time of our stay but we had an amazing breakfast at the restaurant. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

I knocked and turns out the front desk gave me an occupied room. I finally, after another long wait, got a correct room. The room was ok but very loud because apparently the centuries old building next door is being demolished or renovated and the workers are quite industrious, as in they start in early a.m. so bring ear plugs. Very disappointed in this Marriott property as it did not live up to my expectations for the brand.

There is a bar in the hotel lobby but if you walk right out the doors there are plenty of places to eat and drink. It's really close to the hop on hop off bus location and the grand place. The only reason it isn't five stars is because we checked in and were given a room on the sixth floor. The elevator only goes to the fifth floor so we had to get off on the fifth floor and walk up to the sixth floor every time. After walking around all day and carrying our suitcases around - this was not fun to hear or do. The room had basic accommodations. It wasn't anything special but it worked for us. Another pro is that it is really close to the train station. You can walk there in less than five minutes.

I guess he had not adapt to my lay-back I will get there eventually attitude... 5 minute walk from Gare Centrale to the hotel was painless as I rolled my suitcase downhill. The location of the hotel is just perfect for a short stay as a tourist in Brussels. Walking distance to all the tourist's attractions and bars. A location that is perfect for the ultimate bar crawls of those high ABV's Belgian beers. The room though was just really basic. I don't think I can last that long with that paper thin like bath towel. I was kind of grateful that the windows can be open as I desperately need fresh air after a few drinks! Hotel Ibis got extra +0.5 star for recognizing Platinum Accor status by providing 2 vouchers for a drink in the bar. And surprisingly the bar has a decent selection of local beers. Even if you are not staying in the hotel, it is still a good bar to hang since there is free WIFI and electrical outlets everywhere! I will not hesitate to stay in this hotel again next time when I am in town as long as the price is reasonable. And if you on a drinking vacation, all you need is a clean room that you can walk to after a night or morning (a few bars closes till 8 am) of drinking.

Hotel Le Plaza Brussels is an Art Deco palace built between 1928 and 1931 and has witnessed a lot of history over the years. You walk into the lobby and will notice they maintained a lot of the building's old charm with its arches, shields, faux wood beams, & wrought iron light fixtures throughout. It definitely gives the space a classic elegance. We had a corner room on the top floor that had a pretty sweet wrap-around balcony where we could see the top of the buildings poking through from Grand Place. The room itself was laid out a bit weird with a really long hallway, a large bathroom, but small room. This was fine for us since we just needed a place to stay. My only real complaint was that someone on our floor was smoking the whole time we were there & we mentioned it to the staff. I am really not a fan of smoke and it makes me feel sick. Luckily we spent most of our time out & about the city. It is an older hotel and the rooms could use some freshening up with a new coat of paint and upgraded furniture, but it was fine for the most part. What really shined and stood out during our stay here was the service. We arrived during a really strange time where the public transportation workers were having demonstrations and were on strike (our train into Brussels was delayed for hours because of this!). On the day we checked out the bellhop told us to wait in the lobby and he would hail a cab for us. After waiting 20 or so minutes and getting really nervous that we would miss our train to Paris, the most amazing thing happened. After trying everything to get us on our way (there was no taxi or public transportation running), the bellhop sincerely apologized for the wait because he could not find a cab for us. Understandable given the circumstances. He then offered to PERSONALLY drive us in his own car to the train station. He picked us up at the front of the hotel in his Mercedes and loaded up our luggage for us. He knew all the shortcuts & got us to where we need to be so quickly! I was so amazed and thankful and he was just so pleasant throughout the whole experience. Amazing, amazing service! I really wish I could remember his name, but thanks to him we made it to our train on time and he really left us with a good feeling in our hearts that there is still good people in this world. It's a great reminder to be kind to people & more often than not, kindness will be returned... Maybe even 10-fold. 5 stars Le Plaza!

We booked for two days and the first day it's like 90F/30C ish outside and our AC is not working and we called to ask them to fix it but nothing happened. We then asked to switch for a room, but they said no other rooms are available but they can bring us a fan, of which it came like another hour and half later. The second day we went to complaint again and finally they agree to give us another room and this time the AC works. The rooms themselves are definitely the most spacious and old-European looking but the facilities are not the best and the staffs really need to act more like they care and improve the service. The stars mainly points to the design of the place but not the practically and functionality of it.

I heard sirens, people outside, what sounded like a trash pick up at 1:30 in the morning, church bells ringing... I never really got a good nights sleep. Since I was there 5 nights, it would've been nice if they put me in a quieter room. I was in the executive room and my shower/tub combo had a big step into the shower. Just something to be aware of if that's going to be challenging for you. The water in the shower never got hot enough. Luckily, I didn't purchase the breakfast every day, but I did try it out the first day and I wasn't a fan. It's just personal preference, but I found the scrambled eggs and bacon to be undercooked to my liking. They have a Belgian waffle maker and I was chastised by the woman working about it. There was no sign to wait for her, so I'm not sure what I was doing wrong. I just decided not to go back. It just seemed like there was always something wrong. One day, my fridge light kept blinking, another day my towels didn't get refreshed, one morning the elevator was out so people had to take the steep stairs, for the last two days the hot water in the lobby hasn't worked and the machine says it needs to be cleaned, and one day I came back to my room in the evening and there were bags of laundry just sitting in the hallway. I also had challenges with the wifi cutting out. There's only one person working in the evening, so if there's something wrong, it probably has to wait until the next day. The people working the front desk were friendly and they put a bottle of water in the fridge every day, which is nice. So, nothing horrible, and it is convenient, but there were enough annoyances that it wasn't a great experience.

Fortunately (sarcasm) the wheels on the bed didn't lock so we were constantly having to move the bed back up to the headboard or lose the pillows And speaking of, the pillows were rock hard, no support whatsoever and this well matched the mattress which gave us both major backaches. Added to the heating that was full blast no matter what temp we tried and turning the temp off did zero benefit Mold in the shower walls but the main floor part was clean so tried to keep to the middle Only saving grace was being literally next door to the Metro so we could venture out & about town There seems to be a lot of love for this hotel but for me, have to say we've experience much better. It's a soul-less corporate hotel room, sure, but at least it had some space for luggage, and a spacious shower. I learned very quickly that I tend to take things like that for granted. The beds weren't great by any standard - they were on the small side - but they weren't the worst I've ever slept on. As for location, eh, could be a little better, could be a lot worse. You're not right in the more fun part of Brussels, but it's only about a 1.5-2 mile walk, which isn't all that bad considering Brussels is by no means a small city. If you don't feel like walking, there's a tram stop less than a block away, and one of the trams will take you there. The parking garage, especially after a long-ish, tiring day of driving, was like a bad joke. I'm well aware that we were lucky enough to even have *a* parking garage, given how there simply is zero space in the older parts of all European big cities. But still, it's so difficult to get in there, I don't see how people aren't constantly bumping their cars into the walls. I did it, though, with barely any space to spare....and that was with a rental economy-sized Volks. I have no idea how people get in there with larger cars. At first glance, it doesn't seem as if there's much in the surrounding area, but if you do a Yelp search, you can actually find a bunch of highly-rated, small locals-type restaurants well within a half-mile of the hotel. Similar to the vast majority of chain hotels, in-room Wi-Fi is somewhat costly, while lobby Wi-Fi is free. Relatively close to fun stuff + good nearby restaurants = "not bad, I'd stay here again."

The hotel is about a 20 minute walk from the city center is, which is where the Grand Place is. There are tons of shops and eateries there to enjoy. If you go during the Christmas season be sure to check out the holiday light show they do. The hotel is also just a short Uber ride from the train station as well.

A drawback in my opinion. This location is close to many restaurants and close to tourist spots in the central part of the city. We had an issue with the linen on one of the beds and they immediately corrected it and offered an unnecessary compensation. It's a good hotel and reasonably priced. Worth investigating if you're looking for a hotel in Brussels.

The hotel wasn't luxurious, but the room was a decent size -- much better than XO Hotel Inner in Amsterdam. However, like nearly every hotel in Europe, the room was too warm, and we had to keep the windows open at all times to get any relief. No major complaints, aside from the area being quite noisy, and one night, there were people outside blasting their music late into the night. No noise from other rooms, though. The hotel had a small bar and "restaurant" that sold a few basic low quality items, such as pizza -- a lifesaver if you were starving and not picky, but not a place for a meal. They did have a decent breakfast buffet though, although it did cost something like €15. Not cheap, but at least the food was pretty good quality (unlike the awful breakfast at XO Hotel Inner!). There weren't laundry facilities in the hotel, but they were close to a laundromat, which we very much needed in the middle of a three week trip. Overall, a decent hotel for a good price. I loved Brussels, I wasn't a fan of chocolate but after going here I fell in love and eat a piece of Europe all the time now. Still have a stock pile of delicious treats from Brussels and even though it was cold I am glad, super happy that they did have hot water. The bed was nice and comfy but yes like many people say it is small but they do have wi-fi soo that is a bonus too! :) On a budget and traveling in Europe you might as well check this place out.
