Included breakfast included scrambled eggs, sausage patties, home fries, a waffle machine, cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, bananas and apples, oatmeal, breads, and pastries. The only odd thing about our stay was the check-in process. The attendant wasn't very friendly and was so slow and silent while working on her computer, we feared that our reservation had vaporized and drifted away into cyberspace somewhere.

You should give me a full refund". And I left. I drove right by my next Hampton Inn reservation in Ohio 8 hours later. And drove straight home. The Hampton Inn in Geneseo to speak to "Stephanie" today inquiring about where my refund was. She asked what happened and I explained. She said " someone should have offered you another room ". I replied "If I'm packing my shit up, I'm only doing it once." She said, " Well I was going to give you a $50 refund but I'm not, because you're cussing at me!" I said " I sure hope you're recording this call, because I haven't cussed " at you" once! She said, " You said "If I'm packing my shit up, I'm only doing it once." In the morning, Jane got up early to make me a fancy breakfast after making up a menu of what I'd like, and we chatted some more, I could have stayed all day! We stayed here recently on a Friday night after hoping to see air balloons over Letchworth SP. The…read moreinn was easy enough to find since at least the GPS still worked to guide us to the inn. No phone service in most of Letchworth, and no internet access also. If not for the free wifi at the Inn, we'd be lost in space! After a quick tour of the inn in which they also mentioned the future work to be done on another floor of the inn, we turned in hoping to take a hot shower after standing and walking all day in the hot sun. 2-3 mins no hot water in the shower. More time and still NO hot water. Opened the faucet in the sink for over 10 minutes and NO hot water. Went down to ask about it, and nobody was at the desk. No hot shower so went to sleep in a grimy skin. At least the bed was comfortable. There was a ceiling fan and this was the first ceiling fan I've ever seen outside a personal residence, and the blades were clean! But looking around, yes, the place is old and needs a lot of loving attention to detail, as there are scrapes, cracks and peeling something all over. There is dust everywhere and I am allergic to that everything. The hot water is nonexistent tho water pressure was good. Then we wondered IF the plumbing was lead! My wife went down twice for tea and after she left twice, the door popped open all by itself, apparently needing a strong pull to be sure it closes with a click. There is free wifi which helped us greatly in planning for the next day, and as we drove off, in helping us get not lost! We also thought the very light grab and go breakfast was a bit too light, and a nicer sit-down breakfast would have been appropriate, considering the cost of the room. I am sure if they give a bit more attention to the many details of the structure, a decent breakfast and overall the business itself, and the many many rooms, they just may enjoy more occupancy!!

Hand sani at every turn and I didn't see a single unmasked person throughout my stay. I should also note that the hotel was only at a third capacity, so we really didn't see much of anyone other than the staff throughout our one night stay. We felt safe and at home throughout, and this hotel put cleanline at top priority even before the pandemic. Onto more fun stuff! The staff here is top notch. So friendly and helpful and a pleasure to interact with. We brought our dog, Freddy Sue, this time around, and I would absolutely recommend this hotel to fellow dog owners looking to take their pup to a dog friendly town. It is a $70 charge which is steep, but was worth it to us in terms of peace of mind, especially with the off peak rate of this hotel on a Saturday to Sunday being $140. The beds are SO comfortable and I had such an awesome night's rest. Of course, the location cannot be beat. In the non-COVID times, we bopped from restaurant to restaurant drinking our way through the town and it was amazing to be able to come right back to the center of town as home base. For the price and guaranteed positive experience, I doubt we will ever stay anywhere else when we come to visit Ellicottville. Happy exploring!

UPDATE: I complained on my survey and was contacted by a customer service representative and they gave the company response "sorry for your bad experience we will try hard" which I replied, typical response, I don't believe you even read my additional comments. I said that there was a time when customers were compensated for bad experiences but now it is , we got your money, sorry. About a hour later a got a reply that half my money was being refunded. So at least they are trying so I changed my rating to 2 stars for the effort.

Candlelit tables and dim sconces on the walls provided a warm, inviting vibe. Surprisingly, the server who greeted us knew us by name and warmly welcomed us to the National Hotel. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly and had a great sense of humor. The meal was coursed out perfectly and we enjoyed every bite. Stuffed mushrooms to start were piping hot and flavorful in a ramekin of butter. The hottest thing in Cuylerville was the freshly baked bread-in-a-bag! Perfect to get every morsel of mushroom soup out of our bowls. Usually you have to choose between soup OR salad, not here! We got a fresh greens garden salad following the soup! Our main entrées of steak were perfectly cooked to temp and tasted great with the red wine. The mashed potatoes were fluffy, flavorful and satisfying. Peanut butter and chocolate pie brought our experience to a close. To wrap up the evening, we got to thank the chef and her husband for an amazing dining experience.
