The room had two king beds, a small miracle for a man accustomed to one, and the soundproofing was a triumph of human engineering. Even with Oktoberfest raging below, once the balcony door was closed the silence was so complete that I could almost hear my own thoughts apologizing for existing. The hotel sits right on Canada Street, which is the main artery of Lake George's little heart. Shepard Park is practically across the street, full of families, music, and the particular chaos of people on vacation trying to have a perfect time. The staff managed to stay cheerful through it all, smiling with the kind of sincerity that must come from good training or good souls. Parking was a game of Tetris, but I was grateful for the garage. Once my car was wedged in, I had no reason to drive again. Everything that mattered was within walking distance. The rooftop terrace deserves a poem, though I am too lazy to write one. The lake spread out below, blue and calm, and for a few minutes I believed in peace on earth. There is no hot tub, which feels like a crime against nature. The patio outside the pool almost begs for one. Imagine sitting there in January, snow falling into the water, steam rising like forgiveness. The restaurant did not thrill me, and the prices made my wallet flinch. Still, it was a fine stay, the kind that makes you feel momentarily better about the human race before the bill arrives to remind you of reality. Four stars. A lovely place, too expensive for what it is, but worth remembering all the same.

It ruined a pair of my shoes (we had a reservation for a shuttle ride at Whiteface Mountain for a specific time, so I had to wade through the gunk to get to my car. What pissed me off is that the forecast was for rain the entire week we we there, so this overflowing was both predictable and preventable. A real mixed bag.

Only one seemed to be sleepwalking at the front desk and never did send extra coffee pods to our room when we asked. So, I ended up walking down to the lobby to get coffee each morning (which honestly tasted way better anyway). We've already made our reservations here for next year.

The location is convenient and feels like part of our ritual now. The staff are almost uniformly kind and welcoming to our kids and us. They remember us, greet us cheerfully and make this feel like a home base. The outdoor hot tub was a particularly welcome amenity on this past brutally cold weekend and it helped us warm up a chill that seemed to go straight to our bones after time outside on the lake. It really is one of those few places that feels like a welcome retreat no matter the weather. If there weren't any flaws, this would be a much easier review to write. But there are flaws, and they are things that should have been tended to long ago. The rooms have definitely seen better days. Many of our dresser drawers barely opened. The refrigerator was hardly cool. Furniture had visible damage and some of the electrical outlets were non-functional or battered to the points that plugs fell right out f them. These are not deal breaking in isolation but taken together they left us feeling that the room was tired and poorly maintained. A little thoughtful maintenance or investment here could go a long way and make the rooms feel a lot more comfortable. Another disappointment this year was the breakfast buffet at TRs Restaurant. In years past it was a highlight and something our kids looked forward to to prepare for a cold morning out. This visit, the quality seemed to have declined and the selection felt smaller. The restaurant itself still has a lovely lake view and a cozy fireplace, and the service was still friendly and attentive, but the breakfast spread did not live up to our memories. So I find myself landing on a three star rating. If you take this place for what it can still be, it is a wonderful family resort with great staff and some truly nice amenities. But right now the condition of the rooms and some of the public areas combined with the breakfast experience hold it back from being the much stronger destination I know it can be. Here is hoping that ownership puts some money back into the property so it can recapture its full potential.

The hotel is obviously an older one that was renovated, but it was very nicely done. The lobby is gorgeous. I *loved* the lobby bar area, the stone fireplace and the outside backyard with Adirondack chairs, and even a fire pit and a bbq. I would have spent a while there if the weather had been less misty! Usual Hilton breakfast in the lobby, we didn't take part. It looked similar to the one at Littleton NH's Hampton Inn, but with a bit less options. Front desk staff was super friendly and helpful! They instructed me to check in using the APP which I am unfamiliar with nor do I use. In any case I checked in and went to my room. I inspected it and found the bed filthy. I attached a video. I then went and reported this to the staff. The manager then went and inspected the room She stated she could only find normal dust. No offer to clean the room nor room exchange was given. She lacked all customer service skills. I then asked about my card being charged and she stated I had not checked in. Later when making a complaint with Hampton Inn customer service I learned my card was charged and the hotel refused to return the money. I was advised someone in management from the hotel would contact me within 48 hours. This did not happen. I later emailed the hotel directly asking for a refund as is the Hampton guarantee. I received a reply email containing a vulgar cuss word.

They have 3 grills on the water for cooking. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, 4 pillows to each, & decent water pressure. The staff from front desk to house keeping & pool/kayak attendants were all lovely. Fresh towels provided daily and additional towels provided by the pool. What more can you ask for? This is my 3rd time staying at the Park Lane and it seems that it continuously gets worse. While the locations is wonderful and the bbq/grills (really helpful since most of the food on Canada street is mediocre at best) is an asset the cleanliness of the facility really could be A LOT BETTER. I stayed labor day weekend with a group of 20, maybe this location is undergoing renovations but each room was completely different, some had a digital AC, others old dirty microwaves, older linens, dorm type furniture while others were a bit more updated. One common theme was that all of the bathrooms were quite dirty and the toilets leaked/shelving fell etc. As far as the filter we took out of the AC to clean....it was completely black which made the room musty/moldy. Wish we had thought to clean it ourselves the first night. Obviously for Lake George and Canada Street this is one of the better motels, but for $175 a night I would like my room & bathroom to be clean. Really would think twice about staying here again, on hotels .com for an extra $50-$75 I could be staying at the Sagamore (5 star location) read more

They are dog friendly which is great for us as we take our dogs with us. You wouldn't even know they are dog friendly by how clean the rooms are. I'm really going to miss being here. They offered continental breakfast that included fruit, eggs, pastries, and some other offerings. I would not expect to fill up on their breakfast, but they offered enough where you certainly could. The owner was friendly, but seemed a bit suspicious of guests. Overall, if you want a relatively inexpensive place in a great location and do not expect to be in your room very much, then the Windsor Motel might be a good fit for you.

On our Thursday night we were actually greeted by everybody that work there full bar and restaurant was open and it did not disappoint. I personally enjoyed the tree rooms bigger bed. The mattress was super comfy we also had a steam shower in the bathrooms. I must say the sheets and comforter that they use on the bed are super soft and some of the most comfy sheets I've ever stayed in at a hotel. I do enjoy that they have a couple public rooms where there's couches pool tables and Outdoors there is a fireplace Let's talk about the Birch restaurant. Ally is an amazing bartender!!! The menu had soooooo many choices I wanted try. I had one of their specials the soup which was a creamy queso style soup. Also went with the braised rib with real mashed potatoes. And one of their homemade desserts. Opera cake. (Hopefully thats how it was spelled) Also included in your stay is breakfast which there was numerous choices to choose from I chose two eggs any style with their local resourced bacon wheat toast and then also homemade ketchup and jelly!!! Brewed green tea and OJ.. My vacation in the Lake George region yearly and can't wait to take my son for a nice dinner here. It says it's an adult only inn. But they assured me I could actually have my son stay the night but since there's only one bed per room we most likely will opt to stay somewhere else but maybe a nice girl's trip staying in one of the Lakes rooms which features Big soaking Jacuzzi tubs!! Also they have a Tranquility room where you can just meditate and relax and a sauna. I feel the only thing that this place is missing is a gym and a hot tub. But they provide snowshoes in the winter time and have a nice hiking trail that you can do all year round and you're very close to friend's lake. Very happy to have stayed at this place.

As someone who isn't really into military history but loooves everything spooky (and once upon a time belonged to a paranormal investigation club), of course I was up for some haunted fun! The ghost tour runs at night, obviously, as the midday sun isn't exactly conductive to maximum eeriness. Our guide kicked things off with a talk about the history of this 18th century British fort against the backdrop of the French and Indian War (and an apocryphal movie starring Daniel Day-Lewis). Then comes the main event, and we were brought to the casemate (basement), supposedly the most haunted part of the grounds, as it was used as a field hospital for wounded soldiers, and well, many didn't make it. Our tour guide was fantastic, equal parts historian and campfire storyteller, and regaled us with tales of entity encounters, paranormal happenings, and other unexplained phenomena. Are the stories real? Exaggerated? Completely fabricated for tourism purposes? I have no idea, but baby I got chills! If you believe that a place can carry the residual energy of suffering, deaths, not to mention infection-prone surgeries without anesthesia, perhaps these stories are believable. Note: the daytime vibe is basically just a normal historic fort, so the day tour is a pretty different experience, and doing both isn't redundant. I didn't really get to look around the museum cos I didn't want to be left behind alone after that terrifying finale about a girl who wandered off alone during a tour (no spoilers but that one made the hairs on my arm stand up!), and anyway I wanted to check out the gift shop, where the bright fluorescent lights and people are.... Finally, what a great gift shop! There's a nice assortment of souvenirs, practical items, and knick knacks, and I even snagged some cool finds on sale. My favorite score was a scratch-off card of the Catskills 3500 peaks (shoutout to Peakquest), a reminder for me to get back to peak bagging instead of ghost hunting.

They have everything you need, grocery store out back, firewood at the main house for sale & tons of brochures to help in deciding what our plans were each day! They even let us check out later so we didn't have to feel rushed. Every year we try to visit Lake George at least once or twice & I can honestly say it was the best time & stay that we have ever had. 5 star by far! We had a full kitchen with a Keurig, K-cups cream & sugar to enjoy each morning. 4 beds (2 in each bedroom) Linens were clean & wonderful. Air conditioning was perfect for our 2 bedroom cottage. The cottage was simply amazing!. You can tell they have put a lot of their time into making this an incredible escape for everyone to enjoy! It's very close to town but also the perfect distance to feel like you're out of the hustle & bustle & can enjoy the wonderful ambience of the Adirondacks! Especially with their attention to detail, one of the first things we noticed was the beautiful well-kept landscape & the incredible crystal clear heated pool it was just awesome!!! We enjoyed relaxing evenings on our porch & patio listening to music, playing basketball & enjoying each other's company! We fell in love with every aspect of English Brook & are looking forward to our next stay & seeing Kevin Laurie & their family again very soon!

Always love our stay at O'Sullivan's! The room is clean and proximity to the village is great…read more Staff is friendly, hardworking and very helpful if you need anything. We go to O'Sullivan's every year and also love how pet friendly it is. One suggestion would be to add a fire pit on the property. We definitely missed having that as an option. Our little cottage was perfect, however. We had a barbecue to use and a little lawn for the kids to run and play.

No frills, UNLESS YOU COUNT THE BATHROOM!!!…read more The room was clean, with mismatched furniture. One of the bed frames was EXTREMELY loose, which my son discovered in the morning when I jumped in bed to smother him with kisses. Me thinks it's had a little use in its lifetime. The mattresses were very uncomfortable, and the pillows were super puffy and hard. Bring your own if you have a preference. The room was FREEZING cold when we stepped in, so I turned the thermostat up. What I didn't realize until the morning is that there is a separate control for the ac unit. So just make note of that. The bathroom - wow. It totally doesn't match the character of the motel, but WHO CARES!!! It has 9 shower heads, a heated blower for when you're out of the shower and LOTS of hot water!! My sons have never been so clean!! I was a little taken aback by the fact that my credit card number is written down in its entirety on the side of my receipt. I would appreciate that it be destroyed after the room is confirmed to be in the same condition it started. Pretty pricey for what you get, but with limited options around concert time, it suited our needs.

Nope. But the bed was super comfortable, the bathroom clean, and plenty of space to spread out. Historic Inn isn't anything fancy, but if that's what you're looking for, you'll be hard-pressed to find it in this part of the state. This place is humble and reminds you of what you need: a nice, quiet, clean, comfy room.
