I've come here so many times with my husband and pup. It's really pretty and love seeing the turtles and ducks come out. It's a great place to work out as well. They also have a tennis court and baseball fields.

I recently discovered the stunning Park Road Park located conveniently just past the Park Road Shopping Center! There are beautiful covered picnic areas, trails, and a pond in the center with spots for fishing. The Greenway is even nearby so lots of opportunities for hiking trails, biking and more! On sunny days this place can be pretty packed, so just keep that in mind when planning your visit. I love going on walks around the pond, there are always lots of dogs and families - it's too cute! So be sure to check it out if you haven't before, and let's celebrate #EarthMonth :)

All my years recycling at this park and I never stepped foot inside to see how gorgeous it was! Thank God I got the chance to discover it when I went Saturday for an HBCU cookout. This park is pristine and beautiful. There's a playground, plenty of areas to BBQ and gather or picnic on the water and more. There's beautiful bridges and greenery everywhere. I even saw families of turtles in the water, ah so cool! This was a nice escape! Can't wait to go back.

Such a lovely park that you can get to on the Greenway! There's a good amount of parking, and it wasn't terribly crowded on a Sunday morning (maybe many folks were still at church). We enjoyed sitting by the pond, looking out at the fountains, geese, and people fishing. Nice spot to relax and enjoy the outdoors!

I really like this Charlotte park. It's not as big or as popular as Freedom Park, by it's still centrally located and very pretty. We went for a stroll around the pond. It's only about 3/4 of a mile, so it's not super big. It would also be a great place for a picnic. There are two large shelters. There's plenty of parking too. Up the hill from the main part of the park, there are several baseball fields. It's a great place to spend some time outside close to the city.

I really enjoy coming to this park. If you live in the area, I'd recommend checking it out. It doesn't have the mileage of a Greenway or as much seating as Romare Bearden Park, but it's still a nice park for those local to the area. Perfect for those interested in recreational activities (basketball, tennis, playground, cookout) or cardio around the pond. When I go, I walk the trail and enjoy the views, especially on a nice sunny day.

Kinda finding itself sandwiched between office buildings, I can see this place being a great "get away from work" lunch escape. One of the cooler features about the green, at least to me was their many mile markers that show arrows pointing to (insert city), with the approximate number of miles to get there and in what direction you can go. These little posts are littered all over the park and are impossible to ignore. There are several statues like the three large fish that kids seemed to love and the book statues as well. It's just a really nice place to find yourself on a warm and dry day. Natural shade from all of the trees, there's a large amount of landscaping around for sitting, or you can just have a seat on the well manicured grass. Not the largest park, but it is a little squirt of outdoor happiness between business as usual. There are no restrooms here, but there are trash cans about for that time when you'd like to have a snack in the shade and need to toss your food wrappers. I had no expectations for this park, and truly didn't know it existed, but because it hit the spot AND was such a nice break from all of the downtown-ness, it's easily 5 stars for me. Would I plan an entire trip to charlotte around it? Nah...it's not that kind of park. But while you're there, you will enjoy it no doubt!

Nice parks with seating space. Books and reading is the theme of this park. Great for pictures or…read morequiet time.

The McGill Rose Garden absolutely delivered on that. This is truly a beautiful venue--lush flowers everywhere, winding walk paths, and plenty of places to sit quietly and just take it all in. It's the kind of space where you can slow down, clear your head, and quite literally stop and smell the roses. I found it to be a wonderful spot for reflection, a casual stroll, or simply enjoying nature without needing to leave the city. One of the things I especially appreciated is that you can enhance the experience with a visit to the wine bar onsite, Rosie's Wine Garden, where you can grab a coffee, cocktail, or glass of wine and then wander the grounds at your own pace. It adds a relaxed, almost European feel to the whole experience. A quick heads-up: parking can be a bit tricky, as the entrance is off a busy street, so just take your time and be patient when pulling in. Once you're there, though, it's well worth the effort. Bottom line: If you're looking for a small but charming botanical-style garden in Charlotte--a quiet place to reset, reflect, and enjoy the outdoors--this is a lovely little gem. For me, it checked all the boxes and has become a welcome respite in the middle of a busy day.

Rosie's Coffee and Wine is adjacent and service there was super friendly and fast. There is indoor seating there, but the gardens have little twists and turns and different areas to sit, too. There's a great gated parking lot that allows families and visitors to park and get to the playground, there's also the pool (closed in the winter time) but I basically came here in search of an outdoor stair workout. Not only does the greenway come through the park, but there's a big elevation difference that allows for some gorgeous city views! The park also has some nice business neighbors like the Hobbyist and a Pho place, really nice way to start a Saturday is to workout, and then grab a coffee from the Hobbyist.
