I am writing this review for the benefit of tenants who may be considering renting at one of Goldfarb Properties' buildings. The intention is to describe, objectively, what my partner and I experienced during our recent lease term in Park Towers South from April 2019 to August 2020. Note that this was a newly renovated unit. We have lived in NYC for over 5 years and this was by far the worst experience we have had. Here's a list of what we experienced: May 2019 - dishwasher was inoperable and required over a week to order and install a replacement July 2019 - Living room floors buckled due to pipe condensation and prior construction debris that was left inside of the wall. Required 2 days of construction to stop further damage, but floors remained ruined and would have required a larger repair and significant disruption August to November 2019 - Daily construction noise directly above us due to apartment renovations (including on several weekends, which was explicitly prohibited) August 2019 - Apartment entrance light removed and took over a month to replace September 2019 - 3 days of access and 1 day of demolition in our bathroom due to issues with the renovations taking place in the unit above us November 2019 - Kitchen sink plumbing issue due to renovations taking place above us. Sink and dishwasher were inoperable for 2 days November 2019 to August 2020 - Daily construction noise throughout the building, including regular, unbearable noise starting at 9am that prevented us from working or spending time in our unit (including the weeks of December 23 and 30, with the exception only of Christmas Day) -- This significantly increased when the pandemic started with more and more units becoming vacant and undergoing renovations -- There was zero concern or willingness to provide relief to those tenants working and quarantining from their apartments Management would not entertain temporarily extending our lease at the end of the term without an increase in rate (note that this was in April of the pandemic), which we agreed to due to lack of other options at the time -- This process was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with any business -- Zero willingness to work through a mutually beneficial solution, no care or attention paid to us whatsoever The construction noise became so bad that our apartment was uninhabitable and we made the choice to find an additional housing option for the majority of our time from April to August To top it off, Goldfarb withheld $350 from our security deposit for "cleaning fees." This was nothing more than a grab for more money When requested, they provided "evidence pictures" (two weeks later) which confirmed nothing beyond minimal wear and tear I feel terrible for current and future tenants that are working from home and/or raising families in the building, because the construction noise and management's unwillingness to help make for an unlivable situation. The common theme here is a lack of care or concern for us as tenants once we were bound by a lease agreement. The experience could not have been further from a "luxury building" or "luxury service." We noticed that a representative of Park Towers is commenting on several recent reviews that have been posted. Despite what sounds like a helpful tone in those comments, I would note that we never felt that management was willing to help or alleviate our concerns while we were tenants. 10/26 Update: As an update, Chris Miller from leasing reached out to hear more about our experience and to return what was withheld from our security deposit. Will give credit where credit is due - the conversations with Chris were definitely a bright spot here. He was understanding and took action. Had our other interactions over the lease term been more like this one, the experience could have been a whole lot better. It's a team effort that's required, but it seems like Chris is one person doing a great job to try and get it right. read more

Don't be fooled by the management's attitude before you sign the lease, it's almost impossible to reach them after you sign. No matter if you try to email or call them, no response for days or even weeks. Just to be clear, doormans are super nice, but not the management. Construction noises have been going for months. Sometimes even strong smell of paint. Dusts became a lot more since the constructions have became more and more. You might not have an issue with management until you have some issues with your apt, but that's where the nightmare starts. We had an issue with our ceiling that just started to drip water and we asked them to fix it, they did some construction but not properly so the issue was not fixed, and another construction and another but nothing fixed. They even blaimed us for not turning on AC frequently enough and claimed "this is very normal". They only actually fixed it until we brought up to have DOB inspected. Even after they fixed that side, there's still some other corners in the apt that's cracking (see attachment). Another issue when we tried to cancel our gym membership, they suddenly brought up that if we cancel it, we'll also lose the in-home package delivery service or we'll have to pay $30/month for that. We had the in-home delivery service for free since we moved in which was even earlier than we had the gym membership and we've never informed that it started to charge a fee. We don't want to pay and we asked for a proof before we cancel the service but no response. We also made it very clear that we didn't want that service and of course don't want to pay for that during the conversation but we felt weird to be forced to cancel something without knowing the details. When we asked for the evidence, instead of giving it to us, they just kept asking us to sign the cancellation form and said "we'll try to find it". They finally gave us the "proof" (a pdf without any details about the relationship between the in-home delivery service fee and the gym membership fee. It also required signatures to accept.). They couldn't provide details on when this pdf was sent out and how it was sent out. We signed the cancellation form just to stop dealing with this drama then they refused to refund us the charge for the month while we were waiting for their response. I asked them to refund us and they responded after 2 weeks saying "what are you looking to be refunded? You signed the form in the end of the month". Yes, we signed it the end of the month but only because management couldn't provide a proof for over 2 months. We're moving out from this building once our lease is up and I highly do NOT recommend this building and it's management to anyone! read more

Absolutely steer clear of the building and management company. I spoke to their leasing team through the process and submitted an application. After running my credit and confirming it was approved, they gave me a ring to request sensitive income/bank forms and identification only to inform me the next morning that they leased the unit to someone else and followed up by trying to suggest I lease a smaller unit at the same rent instead. I was given no heads up that someone else was in process and they did not inform me before running my credit. I wish I heeded the multiple negative reviews online before submitting an application here as it seems that others have had the same ridiculous experience and based on reviews from residents, it sounds like management is just as terrible to deal with as you live in the building. Completely unacceptable business practices. read more

Update - the construction and noise continues. In addition, the dust and debris is now going through the building ventilation system. It ends up in the bathroom and the kitchen and spreads across the apartment if you don't clean it up right away. I have no idea if this is asbestos or something else. Or if there are covid particles that are now being spread throughout the building. read more

I have been a tenant since 2018 and enjoyed my stay here initially. Doormen are friendly and will offer help when I'm carrying luggages. However, they will not screen visitors and usually let anybody up. Tenants use an online portal to submit maintenance requests, contact management, and pay rent. Maintenance requests are usually addressed within 1-2 days. Management on the other hand hasn't responded to any of my four messages over the last 2 years. Construction noise has been an issue that I've dealt with every month. Over the past 2 months, the renovations have been constant Mon-Fri (8:30am-4pm) as vacancies are at an all time high. It is inevitable that renovations will continue to happen but a horrible strategy to retain current tenants. I've messaged management regarding the renovation timeline with no response. Rent prices are very tempting right now but I will be moving out to a newer building when my lease is up. The building itself is well-located and the apartment space is big. But the management is the worst I've ever seen. There has been construction going on my floor continuously for 6 months since I moved in in August 2020. For a few weeks, the noise was so big that the apartment was inhabitable. Tenants on my floor talked to management many times and we didn't give any positive feedback nor substantial update at all, and the landlord refused to give any concession at all after rounds of conversation. They used to have a meeting room for us to work in while there were noises but they rented out that room too. It is so disturbing and frustrating to live in such a environment where you can't work and stay quietly during the day and have inconsiderate and disrespectful landlords who aways put their interest in front of tenants' without offering compensation at all. Response to owner's comment: I am not talking about update on your emails, but any substantial improvement to the living environment. My issue, which is also the issue of all tenants on our floor, persisted during the whole 6 months when you conducted noisy construction, during which period we complained multiple times but weren't given any compensation nor feasible resolution. I am posting because I need to voice an informational feedback based on my experience, even though the noise seem to come down as my one-year lease has gone halfway. read more

Management sure picked a bad time to increase construction noise when they're dealing with so many vacancies, and pissing off existing tenants who have lease renewals coming up and trying to decide if it's worth it to live in a place with so much noise when they're WFH in this current situation. read more

I feel so blessed to be able to call Park Towers South my home. I've lived here since last summer and it just keeps getting better. It seems like every week I notice an imporvment has been made to the building. It has everything you could possibly need from laundry on site, AC, a stunning gym with nice, new equipment, delightful doormen, friendly neighboors and outdoor garden space (with FAST wifi) that feels like a luxurious get away from the chaos of the city. You also never need to leave the neighborhood because it legit has everyyyyything (shopping, dining, entertainment). In this building, they rally community by hosting events from time to time that make an otherwise giant, lonely city, a place of community, belonging and FUN. I love the managament here because I can sense that they have a sincere desire to do whatever they can (including sending out surveys to tenates for personal imput) to make their building one of, if not THE best options for people to live NYC. read more

It's been challenging living in the Park Towers South. The building staff (doormen/maintenance) are the one bright spot. Everything else, has been painful and difficult - specifically working with the buildings leasing office and management has been a total nightmare. As with most of the reviews, the core issue is the management company decided to use the high vacancy rate created by COVID-19 to do massive gut renovations of apartments on all floors. As a result, us tenants had to listen to loud construction noise from 8am until late afternoon for months. Recently I overheard people discussing the plans for a new wave of construction and renovation that can last an additional 6+ months (new tenants beware). Overall the building itself is just ok, but the terrible management company and horrendous customer service (good luck trying to contact them and speak with a person), make this building not worth living in. I would recommend looking elsewhere if you are interested in living in the Columbus Circle area. read more

I have been a tenant for an year from Dec 1 2020 thru Dec 1 2021. I a writing a review because it's a nightmare to get hold off them. I have recently relocated from NYC to Miami and hence I had to send the keys via mail when my lease terminated (in time). I received a security deposit which is about 900$ less and the break down they have given me is ridiculous. Rent due 235 while I had paid everything or give me a better explanation. Damages to the wood floors (400$) which I cannot understand how because I had rugs everywhere in the apartment, when I left there were absolutely no new damages and it's not like I moved into a brand new perfect apartment w pristine flooring. They charged me for bulk garbage (100$) which I would not complain about as there is some left over that I wanted to get rid off when I return however, there isn't anything that was outrageous in the garbage (it's my coffee machine, paper towel etc kind of useful stuff). Damages to refrigerators (50$)- for my 10 month stay and barely using refrigerator, how could I possibly damage the refrigerator, only they would know and again there was no explanation for this. And late charge, late charge for what? when I had put in the autopay. what late charges are you referring to exactly? I wish they had taken pictures of these damages to show me what exactly they were referring to and I could've told them how it was when I started to rent the apartment. So my point is, I absolutely do NOT recommend dealing with this building management or maintenance as this isn't the best in terms of service. It is incredibly frustrating to go through this. The only reason they were able to do this is because I wasn't physically there during the inspection. The only thing good about this building is the location and the doormen, who are all lovely. But the poor management and crappy living environment do not make up for this. I have lived here for a year and there is CONSTANT construction going on. There is loud drilling and hammering all day, every day. Even as I write this at 10am on a Saturday, there is a man drilling outside my door. The management is rude and money-hungry. They tell all of the people moving in that there is a rooftop lounge under construction that will be "ready by the end of summer." After moving in I realized this is a lie they've been telling prospective tenants for years. When I first moved in my balcony wasn't draining, so after it rained I'd be left with a slimy pool of water outside for days. Their solution? They remove a slab of concrete at the end to allow drainage. Now the water drains but that end of the balcony is totally unusable and looks awful. They promised my balcony would be fully renovated two months down the road. Ten months later nothing has happened and they ignore all of my emails and messages. I've also had an ant problem for an entire year. Despite keeping my place clean as a whistle, they keep coming back, and no one can seem to figure out a solution. Clearly there is a nest somewhere that needs to be found, but all they do is bring an exterminator in to spray periodically. Despite this, I see ants nearly daily. I move out at the end of the month and it cannot come soon enough. read more

I used to love this building when I went to work daily. Now that I've started working from home due to Covid I see how much they don't care about their tenants. They are constantly doing construction and when I called to complain they admitted that a lot of people were complaining and they were working on setting up offices for tenants for some quiet space. It's been over 2 weeks and haven't heard anything about that happening yet. Do not live here. The location is appealing but trust me it's not worth the headache read more

Just moved out of the building last week after living there for a year and half- if you don't want to read the whole review, here's a summary: don't waste your money. The building is kept very nicely and the doormen are great but that's about the only good things about it. Before we moved in we were told the gym was included in our lease, we come to find out post move in that it's actually $50 a month. The leasing office is very difficult to get in touch with and only answer emails if you keep following up and bugging them. That should have been my first clue. It was pretty much all downhill from there. The air conditioning/heating system is outdated and doesn't work half the time. I put in a work request to get my air fixed and was told I didn't know what I was talking about. I kept calling and was finally told it actually was broken after 3 days of 90 degrees weather where my apartment was uninhabitable. To me, it is absolutely unacceptable to pay this much in rent and not be able to run heat & AC when you want to. The management company is unreasonable. We wanted to extend our rent for a few months and were told we would have to pay thousands of dollars in fees, they were completely unwilling to work with us. The move out process was a nightmare. I scheduled movers, reserved the elevator, and sent in all of the necessary paperwork. My movers were in the basement for an hour fighting with the building because they wouldn't let them up. I could go on and on, but I would not recommend this or any other Goldfarb Properties building. Get it together Park Towers! read more

LOVE Park Towers South!! PTS was my home for 2 years. My roommate and I thought it would be a great idea to move out and get our own places. It was not!! You honestly don't get much better than this in the city, for a relatively affordable price. First of all, you've got The Shops at Time Warner literally across the street, (which includes a Whole Foods*!*) along with Central Park a couple steps away. Within a few blocks radius you also have a HUGE selection of amazing restaurants, museums, and Lincoln Center, which if you're into the arts is a major plus. The Columbus Circle subway station *across the street* couldn't be more convenient with its multiple train lines. Needless to say, the location is top notch. Our apartment was a one bedroom that we converted into a two bedroom. Usually that would mean sacrificing a living room or hefty amount of space, here that wasn't the case. We each had our own space along with a living room and full kitchen. Plenty of room for guests, parties etc. Our appliances (including a dishwasher!!)were all new and working! We did have an ice growth in our freezer but I'm pretty sure that was by our own doing. The management was truly great. Their office is IN the building. Any issues can be solved immediately and efficiently. Everyone is friendly and approachable. If you've lived in NYC you know that's almost never the case. Maintenance was always on call. Never had issues with bugs! Seriously, in 2 years we never saw a single roach. There's laundry in the building and you never have to wait for a washer and/or dryer because there are plenty and all working. The doormen were the nicest I've ever met and they know you by name. Extremely helpful and even willing to chat with you! I have nothing but great memories here! Honestly, each time I pass through Columbus Circle I wonder what I was thinking to ever leave an all around incredible residence like Park Towers South. People be crazy not to live here. read more

location, location, location! If you want to be near everything (i.e. subway, columbus circle shops, equinox, whole foods, etc) this place is for you. While management and the building have it's issues, the location of the building makes up for it all. The dual entrance is a plus. Only thing better would be is to not have commercial businesses within the building. read more

live here if you want to spend 20 minutes of every day waiting for elevators. It took years to renovate the 3 elevators and when they finally finished, for some inexplicable reason they programmed the elevators to run separately - so you are always stopping on floors where no one is getting on or off because of the redundancy. On top of that, the first 6 floors are commercial: mostly doctors and psychologists who turn over clients constantly so you are always stopping on at least 2 or 3 of those floors EVERY SINGLE TIME you go up or down. When you forget something in your apartment it is never worth it to go back up. read more

I lived in Park Towers South with my roommate for two years. First of all, the location is unbeatable; Columbus Circle is a major transit and commercial hub (1,2,A,B,C,D lines). The bldg. sits directly across from The Shops at Columbus Circle; which include Whole Foods Market and a great selection of bars, restaurants and shops! If you're a fan of the arts-- Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, the Ziegfeld, and MoMa are just within a few blocks radius! The bldg. itself is fantastic! Great doormen! (doormen bldgs. make life SO much easier b/c doormen can accept packages/seamless deliveries, deal w laundry/dry-cleaning, store spare keys, let repairmen/guests into your apt, and protect you from the scary world (even warn you if there's an impending zombie apocalypse) Our apartment was in great condition--We had brand new, *working* appliances (microwave included), granite countertops, a ton of space for storage, a well behaved shower head (If you've lived in a pre-war apt in Manhattan, you'll understand), hardwood floors, great views, NO BUGS, trash chute on every floor, laundry in the bldg. etc.! I've also never had any problems with the management of this bldg. (which is conveniently located in the bldg. in case you have any qualms that need to be immediately addressed OR you just want to chat over some cupcakes!) I never had an issue with maintenance- I could usually just call the doorman on shift if there was ever a problem and he would send someone up shortly after. (hot water has been shut down a few times, but it's always been either too early/late for it to inconvenience me) All in all, it was a wonderful two years stay for my roommate and I. We made great friends with the staff and have a lot of memories to cherish as a result. Hope this helps! read more

Great location and reasonable prices. I lived in the building for 3 years and loved it. It was great working with the really nice people at the leasing office and was so happy to find a place convenient to all subways that didn't cost an arm and a leg. The doormen were great, management was on site so you could contact them if you needed anything. I won't lie, I'm a little sad that once I left, a fitness center was added! Before the fitness center though, I took advantage of being in front of Central Park and running every morning. read more

I'll start off by saying that you should be weary of this company's shady business practices! I was working with a representative named Vanina. At first, everything seemed straightforward an honest. Once I had my application in and paid the fee, that all changed. We had applied for one apartment which subsequently got rented as Manhattan apartments do. We switched our application to another apartment for which we were told that we were the only applicants. After being strung along for over a week having documents requested from us, going through the "credit board", ignoring our emails and phone calls, I was informed that the second apartment was rented as well. 3 DAYS PRIOR! They had still been requesting documents from us after the apartment was already rented! After finally getting through to someone at the company, they tried pawning off a significantly worse apartment to us for the same rent amount. At that point we had had enough. I got in touch with Vanina and tried to get an explanation for why we had been blindsided and that conversation just went in a loop. I warn you to not work with this company. Even if it seems that you are having a fine experience, they care not for the client and only for themselves. read more

Building is very clean and the doormen are very friendly. It's a mixed use building with many doctors offices. Expect to share the elevator with patients some days. Because of it being mixed use building, it is impossible for the doormen to effectively screen every visitor, as there are patients coming and going all the time. There is also a Covid testing center next door, and I have seen some of these people wait inside the building lobby on cold days. That's unsettling, but understandable during winter. As the other reviews state, it's true that construction noise is loud and ongoing. It's also true that the walls between units are extremely thin and you can hear your neighbors talk. It's not a problem for me as I usually wear earplugs or headphones. Other than that it's a nice place to live, friendly staff and good value. read more

Great location ( it doesn't get better than having Central Park right outside your door), great shops and restaurants, Whole Foods ( a HUGE one for me). The gym downstairs has EVERYTHING you need, which means you can work out any time of the day ( huge plus for people with busy lifestyle). The maintenance stuff is super fast and the management is very helpful. I've lived in a lot of places in New York city and this is the first place where they really seem to care. Great location. Fantastic doorman, very friendly. Maintenance staff very fast and competent. Building is clean and day to day is run well by operations. The problem is Goldfarb Properties the owners/managers. A big gripe is Goldfarb refuses to turn on air conditioning until June 1 and claim they must provide heat until June. It can be 90 degree day in May and management will claim a law that heat must be provided till June. It is a joke, they are cheap. Security is questionable. Building is lower half business and upper residential. This makes security very poor because office and residential share elevators. So office visitors can then roam residential halls. Even worse the 2 towers connect 57 & 58th Street so non residents use the building as a cut through to the opposite street. Doorman have no way to distinguish between office guests, opposite tower residents so they let everyone in. Even local restaurant delivery men use building as passage to other street. Park Towers claims to be luxury building and demand rent for luxury units, but truth being it is a standard full service. Half the building is rent controlled. I've seen people going to lobby in pajamas, that smell so bad I had to leave elevator. One tenant actually collects cans from garbage bins around the city then brings large bags of filthy cans into the main elevator and sorting for some sort can redemption center business in his apartment. Elevators have long delays. With office patrons and residents sharing same elevators the wait can be very long. Not uncommon to wait 5-10 minutes for an elevator. Entrance of the building you can usually find groups of smokers from the above offices out for a cigarette. This is gross. Seems like a smoking pitt whenever entering the building. This maintains a dirty element in front of building. The mountain of garbage feet away from entrance is gross as well. Several simple actions enforcing building rules would probably upgrade the building 10 fold. Until then, stay away. read more

Since moving into my one bedroom apartment, I've only experienced the best service. Everyone in the building is trustworthy, friendly and generally good people. This includes the residents, too. I've never had to make a noise complaint or felt the need to say something to any of my surrounding neighbors. The best part is I can have people over for dinner without feeling like I'm disturbing anyone. I had an issue with my microwave once and the maintenance department replaced it with a brand new stainless Steel one the same day! These guys are great, and I would recommend this building to anyone looking for a safe, clean and relaxing apt. read more

Park Towers South might be the cleanest, friendliest, and most fun building in one of the most historic and accessible neighborhoods in Manhattan. From the front door staff, to the supers, to the porters; the people that staff this building could not be friendlier and more willing to help. Also, not to mention the maintenance and leasing office is on site! so any problems i've had i've always just gone down there and they get addressed. Just signed a lease with this building and am very excited! My experience leasing was made extremely pleasant by a man named Alan in the leasing office. Though I was unrelenting with questions and deadlines, he was tremendously reassuring and patient, even when delays were out of his control and I was anxious. These 5 stars go to him! read more

Was very interested in a unit in this building. First couldn't get a hold of the leasing office for a couple of weeks to schedule a viewing. After viewing I spoke with Alan from leasing and submitted an application. Approval process took about a week. After getting approved I could not get a hold of leasing again for about a week, only to learn afterwards that the unit I applied for went off the market. But they did try to push a much smaller unit instead, at the same price. When I asked, if they had a unit similar to the original one at the same price, I was again ignored. At which point I decided to part ways with this messy property management. Oh, and did I mention that this bomb was dropped on me 1 week before my move-in date? Just now I saw they've dropped their price on a unit similar to the one I applied for to actually below the price of that original unit. And they never offered it to me, although I inquired about exactly that. What kind of business practice is that? That place needs some serious raiding! Steer clear! read more

My experience as a tenant has been nothing short of remarkable. Maintenance staff is responsive and management very keen to any issues that may arise. The location is amazing as all mediums of transportation are right at your fingertips and healthy food choices right on your block. I would recommend this building to all looking for a very convenient, clean, and well maintained location. read more

I've worked with Park Towers South for 7 years now in renovating apartments and selecting new finishes and one of their top priorities is to always make sure that all the apartments stay modern and fresh for their tenants. They are always staying up to date on new trends and are extremely creative and aware of their needs to make them feel like they truly can call this their home. read more

I wouldn't even give this one star. This is not a place where you can feel safe or relaxed. When maintenance people leave your apartment unit unlocked and unattended as they work between floors, it is hard to feel secure. I thought it would be nice to be by Central Park. I have been here for almost a year; unfortunately I signed an 18 month lease. The project management for maintenance and property upgrades is very bad. There is quick response getting simple things fixed...leaky faucet, etc. However, for major building improvements, it has been an ongoing nightmare. In April 2014 an apartment above me was being renovated. During the day, the noise was so bad I couldn't talk on the phone, and every day for 3 weeks, I had to clean up an apartment-wide layer of dust because they didn't make sure the ducts in the apartment above were sealed during the demolition phase. (By the way, I had a chronic cough for about a month after that. Thankfully, it finally cleared up.) Then, they needed to access the bathroom pipes for that apartment from my bathroom while I was at work one day. I came home at lunchtime to find the apartment unlocked and unattended! (And the plumber left my bathroom in a terrible mess...apparently there was a leak!) Then, they started a project to replace the heater-A/C units. We were told we would have 2 weeks notice when the date for our particular units was determined. In reality, I received a phone call three days beforehand with a statement that a system-wide news blast was sent out with two weeks notice (I'm not the only tenant that never received that supposed news blast!). Since I couldn't be there on that particular date, I offered other dates, but was told that they couldn't commit to anything. I tried again to reschedule when I had a day off and was told they were no longer working on this building. Then, on that very day, the workers showed up with the units to install. Since I made other plans, I couldn't have them come in to install. Now, today, I've received notice that the units are going to be replaced in three days. In addition to the poor property management, W. 58th St is very noisy, even for NYC standards. There are trucks and buses loading, unloading, backing up (beep, beep, beep) well into early hours of the morning. As you can see, I didn't ask enough questions before renting here. DO NOT move into this building! The management/landlord is extremely cheap. They shut the heat and hot water off and claim they are conducting "annual maintenance." Funny they wait until it's cold to conduct their maintenance. The people in the operations center are rude and smug. When I complained about no heat and I have a newborn, I was told to call 311. They also shut the bathroom exhaust fans off during certain hours of the day which leads to a build up of mold all over the bathroom ceiling. Instead of leaving the fans on to prevent mold, they send someone up to paint over the mold. To make matters worse, their painter used an oil based primer. I had a 6 week old baby at the time and we were left to inhale toxic fumes. As the other tenant stated, they also turn the AC off and claim they have to provide heat until a certain date...even if it's 90 degrees outside. The sign outside the building, "luxury apartments," is a joke. The landlord is Goldfarb and they have numerous violations throughout the city. The location is great. The apartments are nice enough. There seems to be constant construction going on in the building during the day, including very loud drilling that makes it impossible to stay inside your apartment. But I would say the main problem is that there are people sleeping in the empty apartments that do not live in the building. I have seen them emerge from what I know are empty apartments on my floor in the morning with their bags. They definitely do not live here. I also heard a construction worker say that he went into an apartment (on a different floor than mine) in the morning to work and there were some guys sleeping on the floor in there, who were not with the construction crew, and he thought it was sketchy. Great. So if they aren't with the construction crew, then who are they? Who is letting them in and letting them sleep rent free for months while we pay NYC rent prices? Not cool. Not safe. Not ok. As winter has gone on I feel the need for an update. The heat has been off on five separate occasions. Once when it was 27 degrees out, and today, while it is snowing outside. There is no explanation offered, we are just told to report it to 311. Attention, Goldfarb properties, it is freezing inside our apartments and is very unpleasant. We have been in this building for 18 months now and are very happy. The location is absolutely fantastic and it makes it very easy to reach anywhere in the city 5 subway lines across the road. The management is great and they have made many good changes over the last 18 months and added many facilities too. The maintenance team is very efficient and address any problems very quickly and its all done through an automated system. The doormen are very friendly and helpful, its always good to see a happy face after a long day. Beside it also makes you feel safe. Would recommend the building to anyone looking around Columbus Circle or Upper West Side. read more

I lived here from 2000-2003 and it was great, however, i do not think goldfarb managed it then The person who reviewed these apartments stating people were living in empty apartments.. its probably because the landlords are allowing someone to manage them as airbnb rentals while they are vacant, thus you see people emerging in the morning with a backpack or suitcase. When i lived there, I was on the 10th floor right across from the elevator. my neighbor trained dogs and had 2 in the apt and he was always screaming at them and i had to scream back thru the walls at night to shut him up plus i wanted him to know i thought he was abusive, he was a young preppy type and looked decent but who has a dog living up on the 10th floor and doesnt expect it to relieve itself when it feels like it. i just chocked it up to city living. The apartments are very nice and located near everything..central park is around the corner. i always say if i won the lottery, i would move back to "my apt". But sounds like goldfarb has ruined that dream. read more

Pros: - You're next to the Columbus Circle train station and steps from Central Park - Price of units are decent considering the area Cons: - The operations/maintenance center was basically non-existent. Examples: 1) How do you call someone once every hour and no one is there to pick-up (are you even working)? 2) How is it possible that when you call Gauddy, the operations manager, you somehow get "disconnected" every other time? And then when you call her back immediately no one picks up? 3) It took them 3 months to fix the oven- yes, please take your sweet time while we are unable to bake anything. 4) Thanks for moving my fridge and leaving a rat trap in the middle of the kitchen floor for me to discover once I got home. Disgusting. If I still had that picture saved in my phone I would upload it here to show you how disgusting it was. 4) The live-in super does not like to be bothered. Interpretation: the super does not like to do his job. I believe he is the bald guy. 5) Always nice to see a dead roach on your way to the laundry room. 6) The best is when the elevator does not work because it is too windy outside. Yes, that's right the wind outside somehow has an effect on the elevator- you can only understand this strange dynamic if you lived here. I bet the former/current tenants are probably reading this and thinking in their heads, "yeah, that's right I remember that time." 7) You know how you know it's night time there- the vacuum guy cleans the hallways between 9-11PM. You read that correctly, PM. And the walls are paper thin so when I hear the vacuuming outside I'm like that's my call to hit the sack. 8) That little mail slot that have where you throw your mail down. I saw a few letter get stuck in shoot, mostly a novelty product without any practical value. 9) The trash shoot does not close automatically so all the messy people throw their trash down the shoot and leave the shoot door open for all the dust to fly into the hallway. Great! I love when the hallway reeks as if someone took a dump on the floor. - Some of the doormen are not friendly at all. Actually, more often than not they will not even open the door for you- merely people watching in the lobby for a few hours. Seriously, why do we even tip you guys if you don't open doors and you don't volunteer to help us if we're carrying large/heavy bags? David, please smile once in awhile and pretend to be useful. - When you try to move-out because they are doing a lack-luster job, Kinga makes it extremely difficult when coordinating with her counterpart at the new property manager. This is extremely unprofessional as if by making the move-out process worse, that will somehow get people to stay here or us to recommend this place. read more
