So I'm going against the grain here and giving this place a good review despite its faults. I'll go…read morethrough the faults first and then tell you while we like it here regardless. So please read it, even though it's long! 1) Pet messes. This is a continual problem. I feel like there's so many potential solutions that are ignored. Like putting some sort of cleaning dispensing thing in the elevators (with paper towels and some sort of spray and a trash bin to go with it). There's nothing worse than that elevator door opening and seeing pee/poop everywhere. it's so bad that now despite how the floor looks, our son ALWAYS says "YUCK!" when the doors open :-P I think there should also be cleaning stuff on EVERY floor and in the lobby. When I talked to management about it, they suggested to have the stuff near the mailboxes, but if a dog goes to the bathroom in the elevator, by the time people get to the mailboxes, the elevator is gone and fellow residents get the awful surprise. It needs to be right where the mess is being made! 2) The black ice on the parking lot during winter. My husband fell while he was holding our son! Our little baby had a nice goose egg on his forehead despite my husband's best efforts to fall mostly on his arm. 3) No cell phone reception. It's gotten better since we moved here in 2013, but the excuse we get is that we are "above the cell towers". I was hoping they would buy network extenders. We had to get a land line and pay $$ though we hardly use it-- we just want to make sure we can talk to people on the phone when we are home! Rent is HIGH, but this is the reality in this area. The grass isn't always greener in places with cheaper rent. A lot of people complain of noise, but maybe it's because I've lived in worse places,but I don't really hear anything. But noise comes with any apartment community living. BUT! There are always going to be pros and cons to a place. It's normal to be extremely disappointed and I get it, but I've also lived in a lot of different places, and despite its flaws, we really like it here. This is why: 1) CENTRAL AIR. THANK GOD FOR THIS. 2) The Community. Aside from the time we lived in Oak Square, I never knew my neighbors. Here, though it sort of feels college campusy, I at least have gotten to know people! It's been better since our son was born and we've started to bond with other parents, so it's nice. The complex also puts on events like a movie night or a game night...community barbecues...hosting paint night parties...there's a halloween party for kids and adults... a winter holiday party (they get the fire department to bring Santa by- it's so cute!). The person who dresses as Santa works for Berkshire and lets kids sit on his lap for pics. The people in the office are really trying. The people who live here are nice. 3) The shuttle. Thank goodness for this shuttle! It only runs during rush hour times, but at least it's there! There's been a high turnover in drivers but at this time, we are really happy with our AM and PM drivers. The PM driver (Tom) is our favorite. He absolutely loves our son and lets us just come in for the ride (our son is obsessed with the bus). 4) It's SO SPACIOUS. Unless you've lived in a bigger place or have owned your own house, this place is big! I know there are different floor plans (we have the biggest one of the 2 bed two bath), but from how we lived before, even the one beds here are really spacious. Lots of good closet space....there is plenty of counter and cabinet space (something we've never had before!). 5) It's SO pretty here! It's nice to have trees and flowers and green space around! 6) The amenities. We have a gym (I don't use it, but I know it's been remodeled recently), a pool, a game room, a club house (expensive to rent but nice when parties are held there), a courtyard with grills and outdoor seating, a tennis court, ON SITE MAINTENANCE... 7) Lease renewal perks: with every lease renewal you get either a carpet cleaning voucher or a paint voucher to paint one wall of the apartment. If you are picky, don't move here. If you just want a nice place to live for the time being, this is it. This is not your forever home but it's home! It's not perfect, but what place is?? I have to say that my opinions may be swayed by the fact we moved here after living in a place with only 2 prong outlets, TINY closets, truly paper thin walls (like we heard our neighbors use the toilet) and a clawfoot tub that drained slowly. Therefore, the reviews I see make me think they lived in mansions before.... There are a ton of horrible reviews out there, but I am sure my friends would agree with my comments. It's easier to write bad reviews than good reviews I guess. Again, it's not the perfect place to live, and as you see above, there are valid complaints, but there's no perfect place. I don't regret moving here. And we are still here. This is officially year 3. I hope this helps in your apartment search!

Nice grounds, severe safety concerns and more…read more.. Our stay at highpoint had highs and lows. We stayed from March 2025-June 2026. Pros include fast maintenance calls during regular hours (for damaged or broken items, normal maintenance etc). The grounds are always kept very nice, the building is always clean. I never had a package stolen or items missing. Unfortunately the list of cons outweighs the pros. During our 15 month stay we had several issues come up that were either ignored, pushed down the line, or told they did all they could. Within the first few months the luggage cart in the lobby of the building was damaged. I submitted a ticket and was told that they had ordered a new one. Upon leaving this June there still had not been a new one. On December 30th a party took place across the hall from my apartment. We asked them to quiet down and I submitted a ticket to let the office know they were not being respectful. December 31st they had another party. Well after midnight we asked them to quiet down. They were very disrespectful and threatened to beat up my girlfriend if she called the cops (they were all underage). Come to find these teens had broken into the building and into this apartment to have a party. Police eventually came and removed the kids. I brought this up to the leasing office and they had no idea. I asked for a follow up after I reported it and was concerned with the safety of the apartment and received no response. SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. Another party like this happened on Valentine's Day and again, no response or message shared with the community. This was the first year of severe snowstorms in a while. We paid for covered parking. The first snow storm, technically blizzard. I arrived home from work to find a car parked in my spot. I called maintenance and was told someone would be on it. A few hours went by and no movement and my car was covered with more snow. I submitted another ticket. The next day I went to the office with my frustration and was told "they probably just weren't towing last night". How practical is that? The next storm, the same exact thing. On another occasion, a car was parked in my spot, I went to the office to tow the car. They insisted that they call the resident first. I said I understand and waited in the office for them to call the resident. They would not call, stating "we like to give the resident some time before we start asking". I replied that I would be in the office until the car was moved as I pay for the spot and should not have to wait. They reluctantly called and the driver eventually moved the car. We had also been told back in January that work was being done on the gate to the parking lot. As of June the gate is still inoperable. Beginning in May we noticed a truck parked outside of the building with a driver every single day. All day all night. Eventually, curiosity got the best of us and we asked the driver what they were doing. They were a member of the Quincy Fire Department and they were on a detail because the fire sprinkler system in the building was not up to standard. This was never once communicated to any of the residents. This is a concerning aspect that was never communicated. We were told in the weeks leading up to Memorial Day that the pool was in disrepair and would not open on time. A few weeks later we were told that the pool was not going to be opened on their adjusted date as they could not get the permitting from the city. One would think that having lost the major amenity in the complex would result in a waived amenity fee. Not at Highpoint. Communication is truly the biggest issue in this complex. The leasing office does not seem approachable. They do not like taking responsibility or acting when residents ask. It takes over a week to get an email response, if you get one at all. Calling over the phone is impossible as their AI assistant ends all phone calls and asks that you leave a message that the office will never get back to you on. The downfall of this complex is the staffing. When we signed our lease the manager of the complex, Caitlin, was excellent. She was kind, responsive, helpful. When she moved locations everything went down hill. Communication was unheard of, the people in the office were rude, work orders stalled. Eric, Shamila, and the two others have a lot of work to do. It takes nothing to respond to an email or communicate effectively with your tenants.

I have lived here since spring of last year, and I just want to say I have never encountered staff…read morethat is as timely, efficient, accommodating, and friendly. The building manager Chris, treats you like a friendly neighbor. He goes above and beyond to make sure loose ends are tied up and is constantly on top of everything if there is ever any problems. The maintenance staff is quick to respond and usually comes sooner than 24 business hours to fix any problem we encounter. When we wanted to mount our TV to the wall and we asked for their assistance/recommendation to prevent damage, they exceeded our expectations in taking the time to work with us and even let us borrow some of their tools. The common areas of the buildings are well maintained. The free coffee in the main common room lounge is a godsend when you run out of coffee at home. When we first moved in here they gave us a housewarming box of goodies and they also have seasonal parties make living here more like a community. The sidewalks of the camelot property are groomed almost on a daily basis to remove debris. The gardens are updated every season and we get updated indoor entry way planters each season. Desk service with camera security make living less stressful knowing that my likelihood of having packages stolen or having a break in is rare. In addition, the free guest parking allows us to have family and friends over without the stress of finding parking for them. I have never had a pest problem once living here and all the common areas including the hallways are cleaned on a daily basis. In terms of negative things, there are few and far between to mention that we hadn't encountered or would encounter at another complex. Its fairly easy to hear people in the hallway or in other rooms in your own apartment unit but I have never encountered the noise of late night partiers. The gym is small but it is free to residents. The laundry occasionally will provide minor inconveniences like lost socks and clogs in the washers from people using pods. You can't control the heat in your apartment which kind of stinks but we have never had a problem where we were cold and if it does get too hot we usually just crack a window with no problem. All things considered, with all the small things this complex does for its residents, it far outweighs and makes up for the minor drawbacks it has and puts Camelot at a competitive price to nearby luxury complexes.

Small problems are always immediately addressed, fixed or solved. The maintenance team is by far the most exceptional group of hard working, friendly, happy and professional men. The average wait time for response is literally just hours. Your request for service is immediately acknowledged. Then the assigned team member, Mike, Jesus, Anthony...They make the friendly call, schedule for when it's convenient for you, then it's fixed. Simple as that. But not simply done. They always ask how we're doing. How are family is doing. Sincerely so. They're friends. Neighbors. There to help. Ask what else they can do for us. (We're two older women, mother & daughter and are always made to feel listened to and cared for, in a lovely maternal way) Then there's the office staff. Caitlin, Regan, Dave.... Regan and Dave took us through our 2021 renewal recently. They're just so fabulous- always honest, clear and professional . We are looking forward to 2021 Summer at the pool and enjoying the beautiful brand new clubhouse, technology center with super comfortable spaces and a NEW professional level gym!!! I can't wait to get onto the recumbent bicycle that is exactly what I had hoped would be added in the new equipment set up. The trees flowered so nicely this year. My one grump with the extensive landscaping is that they don't put iron nails under the hundreds of hydrangeas to bring out more colors! But there are always flowers. The waking paths are very well maintained. I use a rolling walker so the annual upkeep of the asphalt walk is very much appreciated. A really nice surprise this year was the upgraded gas grill areas. Now there are two grills, set into large cooking spaces. Thanks! Maybe next year we will see an overhaul of the dog park? There are dogs everywhere now. Owners are responsible with cleaning up for the most part and pups are leashed. The park is too small even for our little guys and it's on a slope making it difficult for dogs and owners alike. It's kept super clean by use of washable astro-turf. All in all its just a happy place to call home.

First, they did not clean the apartment before move in. There was food debris on the refrigerator shelves. The floors were extremely dirty. Huge spiderwebs in the windows. Dead bugs everywhere. Years worth of dust and dirt on surfaces. Then, I had to send daily emails for 2 weeks for it to be partly cleaned. They did not want to clean the piled up dust from surfaces before my furniture was moved in 2.5 weeks after my lease started. DO NOT EXPECT YOUR APARTMENT TO BE CLEANED PRIOR TO MOVE IN! Second, Windsor also did not provide all keys to all the tenants until multiple emails and visits to the leasing/management office over this 2 week period. Third, the apartment floors are not well constructed and you can hear everything the upstairs tenants are doing. Every step, every door opening. Everything. You can also hear your neighbors conversations at times. Last and Even more concerning, they assigned a parking space (on my lease and on my move in paperwork) that was already assigned to another resident. I have been paying for someone else's parking spot and they are unresponsive on providing me any paperwork on another assigned parking spot. Multiple phone calls and emails without a response. DO NOT EXPECT TO RECEIVE WHAT YOU ARE PAYING FOR. The only positives about living here so far: the maintenance team is amazing. Super responsive, effective, and friendly. Neighbors are very friendly. The location is incredibly beautiful and convenient. Extremely dog friendly. Apartments are large.

Terrible senior management - My car broke down overnight in the drop-off zone, and I immediately called and left multiple messages to inform them. Despite that, they towed my car without any warning. To make matters worse, the leasing office initially offered to help cover the towing bill but later backed out. There were no signs indicating the area was a tow zone. After two years of paying rent and being a responsible tenant, it was extremely frustrating to be treated this way at the end of my stay. 2. Cheap construction - extremely thin walls and ceilings with zero soundproofing from neighbors or city noise. 3. Constant maintenance issues - leaking pipes, broken floorboards, and frequent bug problems in the warmer months. 4. Unreliable elevators - at times completely out of service. 5. Outdated gym - a treadmill was broken for months without repair. 6. Disorganized package room - a chaotic mess with no real system. Time wasted digging through my neighbor's packages. 7. Inconsistent apartment temps - especially in winter, when heating settings couldn't be adjusted. 8. No sense of community - neighbors would speed dangerously through the drop-off zone. Pros: 1. Great location - close to downtown, which was very convenient. 2. Excellent maintenance staff - shoutout to Dario for always being helpful and responsive! 3. Nice rooftop - recently updated with new furniture and a great view. Final thoughts: While I appreciated the location and made great memories with my roommate and friends, I would never recommend Gatehouse to them. For the amount of money I was paying, the quality simply didn't match. This building has potential, but it's clear the ownership doesn't care to improve it. I initially took a tour with Sheila property manager who was welcoming and explains how entering works. She was so friendly and outgoing and can tell she enjoys her work. When the apartment I was taking was ready, Kaitlin assistant manager walked me through and took note of outstanding work that need to be done and made sure that was complete. Dario, Maintence manger is super friendly and welcoming and takes pride in the building and makes certain the residents are happy. He's very Responsive to work orders and couldn't be more helpful. I found my long term residence and couldn't be happier The location is perfection too!
