My kids loved the dinosaur afterschool program and we're excited for their summer program.

I was really excited about enrolling my children in an afterschool program, especially after hearing such positive feedback from other parents. We chose the afterschool cooking class, but unfortunately, it was very disappointing. There was little to no actual cooking involved, and no focus on health or nutrition as expected (junk food and nothing but sweets!). I also reached out directly to Parker Anderson for clarification and never received a response. From speaking with other parents, it seems I'm not alone in this experience. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and that improvements are made, as this program has great potential. I also realize that ovens. stoves and microwaves might not be available, but opening a pudding cup and placing into a bowl and adding Oreos is a tad excessive.... At least you could make actual pudding? (0 cooking involved!) read more

My 9 year old son has taken several of their after school enrichment classes and he's enjoyed them. This summer we saw they were offering a stop motion class at a nearby school. My son LOVES creating stop motion videos so we signed him up. He was ecstatic! The first day it was a little unclear how drop off worked but everyone on campus was kind & helpful. Everyday my son would come home so excited about what he did in class. The final project was in the class description and said children would receive a copy of the final project. It was a lot of work and my son couldn't wait to show his family! On the last day the teacher asked the children for their email addresses so he could email the project. I guess he felt children would have this info memorized? He really should have communicated with the children at least and had them tell their parents to provide them with email addresses. So instead the teacher had their final projects emailed to the company. After about a week I reached out to ask about the video. Someone replied and said they're working on it. They sent a YouTube link but I couldn't access it. So they fixed it. My son went through all the unlabeled videos and none of them were his. I emailed them again they said someone was on vacation for a week and they'd follow up after. I heard no word so reached out again when they replied they couldn't locate the video and sent us a gift certificate. My son worked hard on that project and is beyond disappointed he won't be able to share his hard work. The teacher should have cared more. He could have properly labeled videos so he knew which video belonged to which kids and he should have told the children to have email addresses ready on the last day of class so they would receive their videos. We have no interest in taking any future classes after this experience. read more

We signed up for the summer online enchriment program with Parker-Anderson and are absolutely pleased with the structure and classes offered. My daughter took several classes this week consisting of SpyKids, Chemkidz Workshop, Mock Trial, Public Speaking, and Debate. Even though it's an online program the instructors are fully engaged and interactive with the children. My daughter can't stop talking about how much fun she has had doing science experiments, and having fun debates with children her age. We hired Parker Anderson for a science-themed birthday party for my 10 yr old and it was incredible! Jacob was our scientist and he went above and beyond! Jacob came, not only with all of his materials, but also plates, napkins, goody bags, and a gift for the birthday boy! Totally unexpected and extremely appreciated. We had tons of activities and even more sugar for the kids but all of them hands down said that the science class was the best part of the party! After my initial review about the Hip Hop after school class at Clairbourn School, Paula the director from Parker-Anderson did reach out to me via phone and email to find out more about the situation and to apologize for the miscommunication and lack of communication between the business and the instructor. I appreciate them getting back to me to try to make things right, so they offered a gift certificate for my daughter to try out another after school program. Because my daughter is only 4 years old, there are only a couple classes that she could choose from so I chose Cute Cuddly Animals. The instructor for Cute Cuddly Animals was professional, knowledgeable, and personable with the kids. Unfortunately due to COVID this year, the session was cut a few weeks short, so she wasn't able to finish up the session. read more

Five stars for this company. This is an overdue review, but Jacob hosted a 'science' themed program at my child's birthday party and he did an excellent job. All the kids were engaged, and he was friendly, funny, warm and kind. The company was responsive as I set this up, and then needed to change the location and I didn't worry about logistics. My child took the Parker-Anderson enrichment course offered through her school. My 8-year old is interested in learning how to cook so we signed up for the Cooking Academy. After the first class she said it wasn't cooking class, it's snack class. We were told the kids would be taught about making nutritious choices and many of the classes were centered on excessively sugar-y treat type foods. Pancakes--fine. With syrup? All good! But add sprinkles, M&Ms and chocolate chips?? My kid never got cook anything (the teacher always did the cooking), never learned any knife skills (everything was already prepped by adults), and was never challenged to do anything she couldn't already fisure out for herself. I don't think we will be doing any more PA classes. Total waste of money and my kid wasn't even impressed despite all the sugar. read more

My daughters took some of the afternoon courses during the school year so we were happy to find out they had summer programs available as well, especially since they had planned for virtual learning. My 11 year old wanted a full day of these courses. For the first week she took Spy kids where she dusted for fingerprints and came up with a code name, then she took a cooking class and made delicious food that she now continues to make on her own, her afternoon started with Mock Trial & Debate and this was definitely her favorite class. Her teacher, Mystery Mike, was a hit and she decided to take his Science class next. Her last class of the day was Cartooning/Anime. She is now looking forward to this next week of new classes, especially her "pre-Med" Young Doctors class. My other daughter starts today with her Video Game Design class. My 9 year son and 5 year son have been attending the virtual camp for the last two weeks and I am very pleased with the quality of engagement, learning and fun they are having! I signed my 12 year old daughter up for a handful of their weekly zoom classes as I do not like the idea of her glued to her devices for the whole summer. We signed her up for art class the first week to try it out. She really enjoyed it and actually got up every morning to sign on. They created and designed a utility box. This week she has video game design and acting. The classes are every day for one week and you can't really beat the price. Also, there are minimal supplies for the courses that we've taken so far so that helps as well since we haven't visited any retail shops since March. I have her signed up for a few more classes throughout the summer. I am truly grateful for these programs as they are helping keep my daughter's brains from rotting. read more

We have hired them now for multiple kids' parties, most recently for a 8-yr old's birthday party with a spy/detective theme and they really delivered. Not only did they bring along appropriate gadgets, games, and goodies, but their attitude and enthusiasm really got the kids engaged and participating. It really is amazing what Jacob and Adam can bring to a party -- and for a very reasonable rate as well. My children have been in the Parker-Anderson 'Mathemagic' program for three weeks now. They have learned three magic tricks, but I have yet to see any evidence of math. At all. What I do see is busywork (photo attached). The total amount I am paying for both children is over $500. Dear Parker-Anderson: where is the math? What's your plan for the next few weeks? What concepts are you planning to introduce? I am a teacher myself and understand the challenge of working with a group of kids at various developmental levels, but that doesn't make it ok to advertise one thing and then deliver something else. My son (kinder) has be taking robot class for the past 3 sessions. He is crazy about the class, the teacher, the robots... The sessions are on Thursdays at his elementary school after his regular day. We pack an extra snack and he is off and running. He talks about this class every day and every morning is a countdown until he can go back. We are so grateful for such an incredible opportunity to expand our son's experiences. Planning to do the dinosaur class this summer. My son absolutely can't wait. We also had the pleasure of meeting another Parker-Anderson teacher at the park this weekend, Mr. E. He was so kind to my son and they connected immediately on their love of science, learning through experimentation and how cool it is to build robots. So glad to have found Parker-Anderson Enrichment. I had to make last minute camp plans for my 6 year old daughter this summer and found their Chem Kidz and Pre Med programs on the South Pasadena Rec website. The camp was held at the Youth House in Garfield Park, South Pas. First, Mr. "E." is the best. He sets a very calm yet commanding tone that helps the kids focus and learn. I was absolutely thrilled with the amount of knowledge my daughter was exposed to. The size of the class was small which was great, but hopefully they will get more kids in next year. She came home every day and was excited to talk about what they did and their experiments. One night she gave us a 30 minute seminar on First Aid, CPR and the Heimlich maneuver. And how to do it on babies, children, grownups and dogs. They learned how to do a full vitals check up and measure everything and write it down. On the last day of Pre Med camp, they dissected a goat brain and heart and a cow eye. My daughter was slightly freaked but very fascinated and was able to see and identify different part of the brain. She was definitely exposed to things that she would not be in regular school. They also do Birthday Parties and I am having them do their Spy Kids theme at my daughter's upcoming party. I know the kids will all have fun and learn something! 2 thumbs up! read more
