I was so surprised to hear…read morethis! upon visiting we learned the family wanted to grow something unusual to the area and chose olives, it's a harder crop to grow here because they are very sensitive to water. They have ties to an olive business in Spain and for now have imported olive oil for sale. They said their crop to produce olive oil wouldn't be ready for probably 5 more years! But they do olive oil tastings here and also have paella nights too! They made a huge delicious Paella with tons of seafood in it for us! complete with sangria, really wonderful to enjoy on the farm!

History abounds overseas, but this site lets you sample a bit of history here: the first Thanksgiving, site of the oldest Catholic Church, first mass. Definitely pilgrimage worthy. For anyone, it's a peaceful, relaxing break as well. The grounds are lovely and well maintained, a walking path goes throughout. A church, museum and chapel are on the premises. The Great Cross is immense and striking. Parking is free and available, a St Augustine rarity. A memorable part of our St Augustine visit.

For a $3 entry fee, you could just drop by for a couple hours and feel like you got your money's worth. The festival took place at Francis Field on Castillo Drive and it was a beautiful weekend. Upon entering it was quite obvious this wasn't their first time at this rodeo. I'll definitely have to keep my eyes open for next years festivities. Multiple food & beverage tents. A HUGE kids area. Covered seating with stage. And lots of vendors. We made a beeline for the Kouzina and I opted for a scoop of pastitsio (Greek Lasagna) and mousaka. Both baked dishes were delicious and I could eaten another plate. In the adult beverage tent, they offered Metaxa (Greek brandy) & Ouzo. I opted for the lemonada with Metaxa, while my husband got the ouzo. We sucked those babies down so fast and quickly realized it was a good thing we WEREN'T there all day. The Loukoumades (Greek donut holes) were a nice end to our quick sojourn. Parking is available in the garage ($12) next door, or you can find parking on the streets. If you're going to spend all day around 'old city' St. Aug, $12 isn't a bad deal, but we opted to find a free spot in the surrounding neighborhood.

He gave a thorough and helpful explanation of how everything would work and encouraged us to ask questions at any point. The experience was very interactive, we were texting back and forth with the hosts throughout the hunt, sending pictures, asking questions, and submitting answers. They were extremely responsive and accommodating. It's clear they are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about what they do, which really adds to the experience. The scavenger hunt itself was fun, engaging, and packed with interesting stories, and we loved that it's designed to go at your own pace. We took our time, even stopping for drinks along the way, which made it even more enjoyable. It's a fantastic way to explore the full downtown area, get some steps in, and experience the city in a unique way. We're already looking forward to the future app/online version and would love to see this come to Savannah, GA!

I'm impressed it's held up so long! The tour guide gave us a bit of history on the building and what a class would look like in that time period. It's honestly a must see! We visited the oldest school house today on a class field trip. The employee told us about what…read morelife was like for kids who attended the school house years ago in the outside courtyard. We got an inside tour also. The kids got to write their names in ink and a feather quill on an attendance sheet. The kids also got to play with old timey toys and ring the outside school bell. It was a fun tour and the kids enjoyed it.

This is the oldest house in St Augustine It has held up very well for about 400 years with a few…read morerenovations and additions in the early 1700s in Spanish architecture. I was amazed at how well it looks. The garden is beautiful in ornamental style. The Oldest House Museum is located in St. Augustine, Florida in St. Johns County, Florida. It is operated by the St. Augustine Historical Society and includes the González-Alvarez House, the Manucy Museum of local history and the Edwards Gallery. The museum is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tickets are $8 per person for the guided tour and lasts about 1/2 hour.
