I know 5 stars sounds crazy for a Circle K, but hear me out. For starters this location is way cleaner than many I have seen, but the reason I felt the need to give a review was because of one simple interaction I had with the cashier today, Jan 8th 2024 (I wish I could remember her name). I walked in (in military uniform) during the evening very tired from a long day at work and a lot of things I had to do for my move up to Virginia (plus a lot on my mind, like how my kids are going to feel when I'm on deployment in a month) and was very dispirited. I grabbed a polar pop, as I knew I was about to have a long night. When I got to the cashier of course she asked, "Is that all?" And after I said yes she said, "Have a nice day!" With a smile on her face, clearly implying it was on the house. Was it because I was in uniform? Possibly. But I have noticed over the last 2 years companies have been slowly caring less and less about our military, to the point where most places won't give any recognition at all. I never expect anything, but something as small as a $1 drink goes such a long way. I don't think this Circle K would give a free drink to every person in uniform all of the time, I genuinely believe this person recognized I was not in a good mood and decided to make my day better with a gesture of kindness. That small act of kindness made my day a lot brighter. I only wish I had thanked her properly instead of a simple thanks and walked away. It's a shame I'm going to Virginia in a week, but I can say I know where I will be filling up before my trip.

I hadn't paid much mind to the amount of lottery played down here and BIG T's is a most popular spot for this indirect way of taxing the poor, so little do they see. Tuesday's jackpot is 1.6 zillion? I played $6.00 of numbers, not trying to be hypocritical here. All indications from outside do not tell of the well laid out interior, aisles well stocked and well marked, floors as clean as you coukd hope for. Very easy going and patient counter help, as the place was all a buzz with lotto fever and thirsty Saturday afternoon beer drinkers.

Watching the attendant operate the knuckle buster sliding imprint machine in the cold weather was always a treat, twas impressive. Once inside I was taken by the number of employees scurrying around, performing their tasks -- it looked like Star Trek Enterprise as three separate colored shirts identified rank. (Well, not really.. it was training day and shirt colors are the employee's choice) Spinny, spinny, spinny -- those pizzas and hot dogs spun like a spinning top, in the horizontal method. Can't say I partook, but I watched them for a while wishing for a bit of an appetite and carousel music, but none ever came to me. Icey chilly brewskies -- and bar none -- the cleanest bathrooms anywhere I have been and will gladly attest to. Fully equipt with the Accelerator machine that can blow paint off a wall. This machine is somewhat curious to me and slightly troubling at the same time. I'll spare y'all the reasons why -- but I've got reasons -- disturbed and irrational? Long wait times of 20 minutes or more. I've seen customers in front of me get tired of waiting and left. One time I sat in line for 30 minutes only to have the lady at the window tell me to come back because it was her lunch break. I've received a text saying my medication was ready for pickup only to be told when I got there that they haven't started working on it yet. And I don't know how many times I had to wait on a prescription because they didn't have it in stock. The latest problem is receiving a text message they have received the prescription and will start working on it on 2 May per doctor's request. Today is 4 May and I will have to call them to find out the status of my medication. I'm on the verge of looking for another pharmacy.
