So, right after the driver made his left turn at the intersection of Belmont Plaza & Fruitville Pike, he announced that the bus was over-heating, and he was going to have to swap busses. Everything went well, and things were to get a bit more interesting. As we pulled into the bus garage on Eric Rd., the outer security gate opened, and as we made our left hand turn in front of the garage, I noticed a brand new bus of a different model, sitting on the side, at the northern-most part of the apron. It was the latest model of Gillig bus, which the RRTA company was testing out. It was just sitting there, so I decided to snap a photo of it. This bus's new number is: '2101'. The numbers of the latest batch of busses which RRTA has acquired, ranges from 1900 - 1911. A few of the main differences between this latest new model bus, is that the front of the bus isn't quite as elongated as the 1900 series, & is much more flat, which I like. I just think it looks a bit better. The second difference of the design is that there is an extended aerodynamic fairing for the batter packs on both sides of the top of the bus, which now, instead of only extending to the top middle of the bus, now extends all the way forward to the very top of the nose of the roof of it. I also agree with the way the new design looks. It doesn't look as much as a dopey design, as the present design of the 1900 series. Koolness! I cannot wait to go for a ride on the new 1000 series! Hey RRTA: Get more of em' in!

The recent change at the Binns Park entrance limits public access to those with a pass card. I believe it was a safety-related change but it leaves people with mobility challenges having to walk around the Queen/Orange corner in the weather to reach the government offices. One great feature for monthly pass holders which I really appreciate is the scanners at the entrances & exits that read your license number. No more opening the window in the cold or needing a pass card to enter or leave.

Pros -The rates are pretty cheap compared to most big cities; as you'll pay as little as $2 to $15 for 24/hr. See my pic for current rates (Feb '18) -Good location right nearby the famous Lancaster Central Market -Garage appeared to be clean and "resident" free Cons - Don't lose your ticket or you'll get whacked $26! And for that price you might as well be in Philly or SF... - I didn't like that you couldn't pre-pay for your ticket before you exited. This caused quite a backup to get out on a Sat afternoon, since they only had one person working the booth and nearly everyone ifo us was ill-prepared that they actually had to pay to exit... -_- - Only one way out (see above) Overall decent spot that gets the job done.
