TOTAL UNPROFESSIONALISM! As someone who rarely posts reviews, I feel strong about adding my experience from this morning. I am a Veteran & requested Parkland Eye for my community care because of it's location. My 1st appointment was set for today & I had to reschedule due to a household member being quarantined. The call started friendly & remained in a calm tone the entire time. Sadly, the office staff member on the phone could/would not answer my COVID-19 questions directly. After several attempts, it was useless sowe agreed to a later call to schedule after 1.20.21. ALL GOOD SO FAR. Quickly I get a call from VA scheduling because Parkland Eye called & completely misrepresented the conversation accusing me of being argumentative & asking for me to not be rescheduled. With this, if they want patients, my family & I never will be & Will not recommend them. TOTAL UNPROFESSIONALISM! read more

I recently went to Parkland Eye and Vision for the first time for an eye exam and a reordering of contact lenses. The clinic personnel were friendly, professional and knowledgeable about my insurance. They communicated with me regarding any questions they had with my insurance prior to my arrival. The wait time was short and I was immediately ushered into the back for various tests prior to the doctor's exam. He, and his entire staff, were very thorough and all my questions and concerns were answered. I would definitely recommend this clinic to anyone. read more

I was very excited by the customer service received initially but then the quality of service and the glasses I purchased quickly became an issue. The finish on the frames began to fade after only 9 months and the arm fell off. When I brought it to Mel's attention I was told it was because I didn't bring them in monthly for a special cleaning. When he reattached the arm he got superglue on the hinge and the arm which he denied and said they don't use superglue. I ordered a second pair of frames, same prescription, and they didn't come in after weeks, when I inquired no one ever got back to me and I had to call several times. As it turns out they were ordered without transitional lenses and they were send back for non payment of this add on, not my fault. They declined my request for a refund and Mel never apologized but he did say I was never charged and they will absorb the cost and have the transition coating added to the lenses, again, same prescription, not my fault. I asked to have the owner contact me to explain my dissatisfaction with the service and the quality of the products they sell, I am still waiting for that phone call. Be aware that this organization will attempt to put the blame on you if something goes wrong, they do not take responsibility or stand behind their products or services. read more

First off, the care taken in the eye exam was very good. The doctor and support personnel did a great job getting my wife and I through the exam process. It all went down hill when it came to getting the lenses and frames. The treatment was good BUT I was informed over the phone on the initial call, and I believe I clarified that the frame allowance was $225.00, I figured out of pocket would have been around $200.00. Today, after the eye exam I was informed the "hardware" allowance included lenses, which I have never paid for previously. Lenses alone would be about $390.00 making the out of pocket around $500.00 total! And when I called my insurance I was told allowance was 80% of $225.00! I don't blame insurance, it is what it is. To be given faulty information leading to a false expectation, I wouldn't have taken time off of work for an eye exam alone. Now I have to farm out my prescription to see if it's even worth getting a new pair of glasses. Again customer service 5 star, false information leading to not getting what I was wanting 1 star. read more

Parkland Eye & Vision was a preferred provider for my insurance and not to far away from where I live, so I decided to give them a try. So far, it's been great. I didn't have any wait time to speak of. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, especially the assistant who does a sort of "pre-exam" before the regular exam. I was feeling like my cataracts were getting worse and that was confirmed. I didn't get glasses because if I end up with cataract surgery, my vision will change. They suggested I wait until I see an eye surgeon before picking out glasses so I don't waste my insurance benefits and money for glasses that I may not be able to wear. I will definitely return as needed. read more

Wow! This place was great! I am a first time glasses wearer and I was a little nervous when I started to realize my vision was going. I mean I'm only 22 and my sight was becoming blurry. I made an appointment and I was very impressed. The staff was very professional and extremely nice. It was really comforting that they talked to me like a person instead of a patient. I was told that I was nearsighted and that I would be needed glasses. The staff also has a great person that walks you through the glasses process. They will help you pick which one looks best on you, give you all the details about the glasses and even will provide you with some enhancements that can improve your glasses. They are a preferred provider so my insurance covered most of it. Thank you so much Parkland Eye & Vision for your services! Can't wait to visit again to pick up my glasses. UPDATE: Just picked up my glasses and love them! Was in and out very quick. They said they'd give me a call in two weeks to see how I'm doing. This place is great! read more

Had never heard of this place but recently got new insurance through work and they were on the list. Per my warranty from getting prk surgery, I have to get a yearly checkup, so I chose this location. Soooo glad I did! From the moment I walked in, they were very personal and courteous. Everyone was super knowledgeable and helpful. They have some very pretty ladies as well. I wouldn't mind buying glasses to to mysteriously need repairs once a month... "I don't know what's going on, they just keep breaking". Definitely choose this place for your optical needs... you won't regret it. read more

I hadn't had new eyeglasses for about ten years. At 71, I figured it was about time to buy my last pair. Vision Source/Parkland Eye & Vision on 140th, just off Pacific Avenue (Highway 7) in Parkland, is pretty close to home. I was glad to find Vision Source as they have an optometrist on-site AND they are dispensing opticians. On November 27, 2017, I stopped by to ask about an exam and a new pair of glasses. I told them that I wasn't going to be able to pay cash for the examination and eyeglasses so I needed a quote to give to my credit union. They have a form for clients to check what they might want: bifocals, polarized, no-line, etc. I took the form and filled it out at home. I also contacted my credit union to let them know that I would need a loan. On Friday, December 15, I stopped by Vision Source to give them my form and get the quote. In order to give me an accurate quote, I needed to pick out a pair of frames. I did. Two or three employees went to a computer in an alcove to figure out the quote. About ten minutes later, I had a "invoice" to send to my credit union. $985.00 less 20% for paying cash (they knew I'd be bringing in a check for the total) came to $788.00. I made the appointment for Wednesday, January 17, 2018. About a week before my appointment, Stephanie from Vision Source called to ask about insurance. She called at 8am and I was asleep so I told her I'd call her back when I got up...which I forgot to do. When I remembered, I didn't think it was important because I already had the check from the credit union and my insurance doesn't cover vision anyway. Two days before my appointment, Stephanie called back, again asking about insurance. I told her I had the check in hand and didn't need to worry about insurance. Out running errands on the same day Stephanie called, I stopped by Vision Source to make sure everything was set because Stephanie asking twice about insurance was making me think something was wrong. Stephanie said $788.00 wasn't going to cover the exam and the new eyeglasses. It would be more. Over a month ago, Vision Source knew I needed an exam and new eyeglasses. They knew I had to get a loan from the credit union. Why would Vision Source wait until the week before my appointment to tell me $788 wasn't enough? Even if my medical insurance did cover vision, I would have had to figure out how much the insurance would cover and then have my credit union cut a check for the rest. The only thing I can figure out is that, had I kept the appointment and given Vision Source the check for $788.00, I would have lost the $197.00 discount because I wasn't paying in full. I did cancel the appointment for the 17th and have returned the check to my credit union. Outside of losing about six weeks of time, at least I haven't lost any money. Is this "Bait & Switch"? Highly recommend this office! I had been having a problem with my right eye for a few days. When it did not get better on its own and family doctor could not fit me into their schedule I called this office and boy am I ever glad I did. They were able to see me within the hour. Everyone in the office was very professional and kind starting with my first phone call. Much to my relief Dr. Finley was able to remove a plastic fragment that had gotten lodged under my eyelid and I was back to work before my lunch hour was even over. They DID NOT have any good selection of glasses for my Two daughters at all so they got glasses that were actually to small for their faces and the dr there completely got my prescription for my glasses completely wrong and he knew in advance that I was taking a medicine that messed with my vision he didn't seem to care about that much and didn't see that I should wait for an exam until I was finished with it so even his assistant had thought maybe to wait until medication was finished for me to get thE eye exam. So now I have paid cash money for my glasses that still have wrong sight out of them and now I'm stuck with them. Personally I feel that it f he knew that yes this medication does effect sight vision that when asked if we should reschedule my exam he should of done the right thing and said yes. I feel that it's more so about money than actually caring for any patients with this particular eye dr. read more

Have been going to see Dr Williams for several years. He is very professional and the staff is very competent and helpful. If you have problems with your order they will re-do it at no charge. Get the scratch protection so lens will be replaced if scratched within the first 2 years. Not the cheapest but deffinatly the most competent.and releliable. read more
