I engaged with Soundview for the first time as I needed a new prescription and new glasses. My experience was excellent , I had the best prescription for my glasses that I've ever had-- blended trifocals with astigmatism correction. They had a large selection of frames and I picked a super light weight minimalist design, which after a fitting adjustment a week after I initially picked them up, fit perfectly. The cost for the exam and frames was a bit under what I had paid for an exam and similar glasses 15 years ago in Seattle. So, considering the inflation we've endured during the those years, these were a complete bargain. I heartily recommend Soundview without reservation. read more

The good news is they aren't the only eye doctor in town. They sent us a letter that some TriCare plans are no longer accepted due to their reimbursements rates. I can accept that. The letter was vague so I called before I made an appointment I asked them to confirm if the change impacted me. They said they accepted my plan so I made an appointment. They then called 3 days days before the appointment to cancel because they don't take my insurance. When I explained what happened they asked me if I had an email confirming what I was told over the phone. HUH?? No, why would I have that? I just found the whole thing insulting and unprofessional. You can go there....or not....they don't care. Then they called me to see if maybe I had other insurance?? No, no I don't. Thank you and good bye. read more

I am a new patient as my eye Dr. that I had seen since I was 13 years old retired. I need late appointments and the remaining Dr. could not accommodate...... so I switched. I am pleasantly surprised! I so far have been in 3 times and every time has been great.. We are in the process of fine tuning my contacts..... First off, parking is convenient. Ive never have trouble getting into my appointment and out rather quickly. Staff are friendly and helpful as well.. As far as Dr Oland goes... well Dr Oland is just amazing. He is professional, very down to earth and has a great sense of humor. He is by far, my favorite eye dr ever...I have been a patient of his for nearly 20 years. Whenever I see him for my annual visit, he is super friendly, knowledgeable and just an all around nice guy. I laugh so hard during my visits, it's like seeing an old friend rather than my eye dr...I truly hope he stays around for a long time because I know I will never be able to find another optometrist like him. Dr. Oland is the best I have ever worked with. My prescription is always the best for my needs. He takes the extra time to make sure you understand what's going on with your vision and how your hardware should work. The whole office is very friendly and always tidy. The staff is the bust I've experienced in the medial field. They will go out of their way to help you get affordable and help you understand your insurance. I start off by saying that this does not rate Dr. Oland. He is great!! His new office staff is the issue. I called at the beginning of January because I did not get notice to come in and I had run out of my contacts. When I called, after they checked by insurances, I was told that one of my insurances would pay for contacts but the other was not valid until Jan 29 of this year and that I didn't need to come in because my prescription was good for 2 years. I opted to call for an appointment today and was now told neither of my insurances were available for contact lens. Not feeling so secure when it comes with them working with my insurances. Unfortunately the front desk is the face of the practice and I will probably go somewhere else. read more

The Dr and staff were very nice. One girl seemed to be new and didn't know the system. I think they didn't price me right with my insurance. Plus, I gave them my own designer frames for just lenses and they got broken. I still haven't gotten my glasses yet. It's been about 30 days. They don't call you. You have to call them if you want to know what's going on. read more

I would give them no stars of I could! I had a prescription for glasses from a different doctor and decided to get glasses here..they started to fall apart a couple months later..i went back to get them replaced and I'd course they no longer carried the glasses..they ended up giving me another pair that was more expensive and they covered the difference...a few months later I requested an appointment for contacts..came in and the exam room/office was a mess! There were papers stacked high on the desk and it was unprofessional..speaking of unprofessional the Dr. Was talking about rasicm the entire time! THEN they fit me for contacts and when they were ready to be picked up they told me that there was a $60 fitting fee which they didnt tell me about and I couldn't have my contacts until I paid, even though my insurance has already paid for my contacts..i decided they were unfair so I asked for my prescription and they said they would not give it to me because I had to pay the undisclosed $60...Dont come here!!! read more

I have been here a few times and every experience has been excellent! The entire staff is so nice, great customer service. They really take the time to explain to you every detail. I was having trouble with what I needed and both the girls working were very patient and kind. Everyone is very knowledgeable and make sure you have everything you need. All in all, the staff is great, the selection of glasses is great, and I wasn't sitting in the lobby forever and that is always a plus. read more

Dr. Oland is great, no issues with the patient care. The two ladies up front are great, helpful and very friendly.

I went in and ordered two pairs of glasses. One bifocal and one non bifocal. The receptionist rushed me through on the prosses as I tried to explain what I wanted to no avail. I went in to pick them up but did not get the bifocals. Again I tried to explain but she would not listen. I had to explain it 3 times but she could not understand. I talked to the doc so he could explain it to her. Now I had to pay more $ to get what I ordered and I still think the bifocals will be wrong due to the way she measured the bifocal. read more

Doctor Oland. Where do I begin? I am a disabled woman and the first words out of this man's mouth were "So, how does it feel to be living off the government's dime?... What is it, A BAD BACK???" I told him that I suffered from multiple autoimmune diseases and BiPolar disorder and he asked if I had seen the movie "Mr. Jones", adding that it was a good movie to watch if I wanted to learn about BiPolar, but that there was "alot of sex in the movie too!" He asked me if I was "One of those hippies from Vashon Island" (where I previously lived), then proceeded to talk about homosexuality as a choice ("Why would anyone choose to be gay?"), boob jobs ("Even attractive women need boob jobs if they're going to become actresses") and 'the casting couch' ("Why would anyone do that at WORK?") after he learned that I am from Los Angeles and a former actress. I felt absolutely violated by this man. His sexual innuendo was disgusting and extremely disturbing. He was completely inappropriate and perverted. To top it all off, I received my glasses today and both prescriptions (distance and reading) are wrong. I now have to pay for a new doctor to reexamine my eyes and write a new prescription, then order a new set of glasses because I will not return to this place. I wish I had turned around and walked out when he first insulted me, but i didn't. No doctor should be allowed to get away with this criminal behavior. Horrific! read more

I wanted to wait a few months before giving a review. It's been several months since I went for my exam and chose my frames. The exam was very thorough and I was highly satisfied. Then I needed to choose my frames. Great selection for sure. The staff was extremely attentive and helpful. I was happy with that because I needed lots of help. Received my glasses and it changed everything. The prescription was right. I look at a very CRISP computer screen now, read without fuzzy words, etc. Very happy. Overall it was a great experience.
