Everyone was very nice and they were very accommodating for my daughter. Here's the thing. I gave them my insurance card at the beginning of my kids appointment. I even expressed to one of the gals that we chose this place because the last place we chose did NOT accept our insurance. And that it was frustrating because it took two months to get with them. Plus, I gave them my ins. Plan and at no point did they tell me they did not accept it. Had this conversation with of gals and she even said I hate it when that happens! So you can imagine my surprise when at the end of my daughters exam I go to settle with her frames and such and they tell me it's 600$ for just the frames. I expressed I have awesome insurance and it shld cover EVERYTHING. Then, the gal tells me that they don't accept my insurance! Mind you, AFTER the exam. it's just a really lame/wrong thing to do. I would have never made her appointment at place had I known. Money is super tight atm. Which was not a conversation I wished to have standing at the front desk, in front of my kid. From their website I was under the impression my insurance was accepted. It would've been nice for a heads up BEFORE my daughters exam. Like I said everyone was nice but I was unfortunately left with a bad taste after visiting this dr office. Needless to say I will not be returning. Sorry guys, but you can do better. Boo. Fine optometrist. IF you buy your glasses with them. If you can't afford to & buy from someone more reasonable (such as eyeconic.com), don't expect any help from them. I had to measure my lenses myself & mark with a sharpie, for progressive lenses. eyeconic.com was shocked. They require a Doctor to add it to the presciption, so I'm going to have to forge it. I have been wearing glasses/getting regular eye exams for over 40 years and this was the singular worst experience. The doctor spent the majority of my exam doing a hard sell of the macular degeneration supplements they sell and about 3 minutes actually examining my eyes. The resulting prescription was completely incorrect. As in, it included an astigmatism that I do not have and my nearsightedness and progressives were not strong enough in their prescription. I had to pay out of pocket for another office to perform an accurate exam. Complete waste of time. read more

Tacoma Eye.... I will NEVER return to this place. Not only have they screwed up my glasses order TWICE, but they had the nerve to charge me extra for THEIR mistake! I could, but won't go into detail... but trust me, they are sharks. Any business that can't own up to their repeated mistakes, yet chooses to blame the client? I can see! After multiple teiws with my old Dr. this was a refreshing visit, Knowledgeable very thorough with outstanding explanations. Found some vascular retinal problems and has referred me back to my PCP for for non eye studies. My prescription bears no resemblance to the one done 6 months ago. I'm not crying; you're crying. I have never had such a great experience with an optometrist before. The entire staff is so kind, so supportive of their team, and absolutely dotes on their patients. The appointment was a breeze and Dr. Meers, Sherry and the girls are just absolutely wonderful. I was kept well informed through the appointment and all of my concerns were addressed and met. While my prescription was quite pricey in comparison to other quotes I received, they were worth the wait. I exchanged my current lenses for transition lenses and kept my existing frames. Although, they do carry several very fashionable options for frames. It took about 3.5 weeks to get them back (during COVID-Aug), and boy was it worth it. I put them on, got them fitted and quickly left the office to give them a try. I cried upon leaving the office to find that the tint was so quick to react to the sun, and my overly sensitive vampire eyeballs were left feeling safe and without pain. I can't believe this is what I've been missing out on. To all my other previous optometrists out there, take a lesson from this office. I've been trying to tell doctors for ages that my photo-sensitivity is beyond my control, and I need additional help. I was having an issue with blurry vision. It was frustrating because it was getting hard to read to our little one. I scheduled an appointment for an eye test. Went through the process and they recommended prescription glasses to fix my issue. I don't have problems with far vision, just smaller print and near vision. More than two weeks go by, and I get my new glasses. They made bifocals and I couldn't see anything with them. They told me I said I had problems with far and near vision. That is completely incorrect, and their tests should have shown that. They said they would get a new set made. Almost 3 weeks later, I finally get the "corrected" set of glasses. Wrong. There is little difference when I put them on. Then they tell me they are "computer" glasses. From their email - "As we mentioned in the office when you picked up your glasses today these are computer glasses ( if you try and look at distance or if you attempt to read with them they will not work as they were designed to help you on the computer.)" I work with computers, but I specifically told them that I don't have problems reading a computer screen. I was having problems reading smaller print. I never asked them for computer glasses. I told them I needed something to make reading easier. Now they want me to go back for another exam to try and correct what they should have gotten right from the beginning. They billed my insurance and charged me for my "computer" glasses, even though that is not what I requested or what I needed. When I told them, after the second set of glasses didn't solve or even make the situation better, for a refund, they said they don't give refunds. I'll pay for the exam as you provided a service. But you charged my insurance and me for a product that is inferior, doesn't solve the problem or even make it better. Over $800 for useless "glasses". They didn't listen to my request or solve the problem, they have horrible service, they don't work in a timely manner. Again, I didn't ask for computer glasses and their response tells it all. They made glasses to work on a computer but not for reading. I needed something to help reading. I have blue light glasses that I use at work when I'm on my computer. You may have a different experience, but I would not recommend going to them for your eyecare or eye tests. I'd give them zero stars but the lowest is one, so be it. Good luck with them if you go there. PS, get better internet or a landline. Everytime they called to give me an update their phone would cutout or drop the call. read more

As someone who has worn glasses for 40+ years I was happy to find Dr. Meers. He and his staff are friendly, knowledgeable and NOT pushy sales people. Great hours. So nice to be able to get in on a Saturday. All staff members and the doctor were super friendly and put me at ease during the visit. Clean office and they were definitely following COVID safety protocols, right down to giving me the pen I used to fill out my paperwork. What a care. LESS Optometrist that does not care about the community that he serves, when he treats a patient and goes on vacation in the middle of his treatment without even letting them know, with even more of a clueless receptionist with the mentality of a 20-year-old going on 15 who does not even know where the roof to the building is and When I Conveyed that I was upset that he had total disregard for his patients that just ups and Goes on vacation this nincompoop receptionist calls the police and files a report when I never even threatened her In anyway how ridiculous , she was obviously was afraid of her own shadow. I came to find out that this lazy optometrist is only open three days a week four hours each day. There is an old saying that when you are in business and you sleep so does your business , he could care less about serving the community, he shouldn't even be in business when his selfish ego is bigger than his business. There are many Optometrist out there Far better than this one and anyone that is looking for an optometrist, my advice to them this is to stay far and clear of this one. He displayed his distant Attitude before he even sat down. I have seen people in the medical field that have decided to open their own business With not even the simplest clue As to how to run it, And with this individual there is no exception. This care LESS optometrist Should do the community a favor and go out of business and retire, and to have the Personality of pet rock towards his customers Is pathetic.
