You'll figure out the family owned part likely as well during your brief stay here for they don't have places to sit and chill. It is a Cute LITTLE family owned store after all. First off, I want to say the owner and the employees are so friendly and constantly keep in check to see the satisfaction of the customers. Their speed of service is awesome as well (got my donuts within minutes even though there was a decent amount of people). Also, can't forget their donuts! The donuts are truly made to perfection. The donuts have a nice airy and soft texture that's ideal for a light breakfast or snack with no "frying" aftertaste that other places tend to have. My personal favorite is the strawberry glazed donut. However, if you are looking for a more dense or heavier donut the blueberry cake or apple fritter donuts are a delicious option. WTF happened to this place?! They used to have the freshest most tender delicious donuts and apple fritters. The apple fritter was hard all the way through. Yes I know that it is a fried confection, but the outside should be crisp and sweet and the inside should be tender soft filled with apples. This was hard like stale all the way through. I took the Apple fritter back in and exchanged it for some donut holes and a buttermilk donut. Both of those were not as fresh as they usually are, the chocolate covered donut holes tasted day-old. The only thing I got that was really good was the jalapeño sausage, these have always been fairly fresh tasting and the breading is tender without being hard and too thick, kind a hard to describe that. I hope this place is not going the way of many good donut shops, using cheaper ingredients cheap oils and substandard effort. read more

This is a small, family run donut shop in a strip mall on Hedgecoxe. The donuts are pretty good and fairly priced. Our favorites are the kolaches though. Both the small and the large kolaches are very tasty (both the regular and the jalapeno). The lady who runs the counter is very friendly and provides good customer service. I once sent my 6 year old in with some cash to get donuts and kolaches, because I was sick and didn't want to go in. He was apparently not sounding too sure about what he was ordering, so the lady came outside with him to make sure he got the right order. Very nice! I love Parks Donuts! It's a convenient three-minute drive from my house, perfect for early mornings, and the nice ladies that run the place have seen me come in often enough that they know my order (two jumbo sausage rolls, heated up, and an apple juice). The second time I went on a Sunday morning before church, one of them threw in a bag of donut holes on the house. One of the great things about the sausage rolls here is that the bread around them is soft and fluffy, as opposed to other places that have doughier bread. My only wish is that their daily hours were longer so I could get my fix in the afternoon, but maybe it's good for my waistline that I can't come here all day every day ;) read more
