Computer glasses that I wear on top of my contacts.
    Falan E.

I like Parkside Eye Care because they are open on the weekends. I'm thankful for the assistance I received from Saima with finding my computer glasses in my price range. Very helpful! This was my second time at this location. I had my annual exam at the Durham Location last year. I first came in here at this location to get my glasses adjusted and to see if they had availability for walk-in appointments, but they didn't at that time. I scheduled my appointment for a future date with the front desk. I also updated my new address at that time. Appointment Day: I'm annoyed that I have to fill out the same forms that I did last year as soon as I arrived. I'm surprised that the system does not retain my information, such as past eye history. Allergies, height, etc. These are all things I completed on my intake form last year. This process is redundant, and the system needs to be improved. I understand Covid status on each visit but the system not retaining the information I provided on my last visit regarding my eye history is concerning. I don't feel like a patient of yours if you can not keep my information in your system. It does not feel like they build a rapport with the customers based on the lack of information from a visit to visit. Optometrist Harada improved my experience once I met him. He's good at listening to concerns instead of just talking to you. He provided what I needed for better vision and my overall eye health. I do appreciate that. Overall, this location is great for Customer Service, but the technology process needs to be improved. It degrades the overall experience. The selection of budget frames for individuals who don't wear glasses as much is very limited. I could have easily just found a better (less expensive) price online but decided to purchase here. What did I purchase? 6 months supply of contacts which I primarily wear because I prefer contacts. Computer glasses to help with computer use and to reduce eye strain. I wear these on top of my contacts. I want to add that the eye is center has gotten away from provided bottles of contact lens solutions and contact cases. I miss that!

Do I need an appointment to come in and select frames/glasses? I have a prescription already from my ophthalmologist.

No appointment is needed. Please have your valid prescription on hand and any vision plan information. Thank you!

What prices do they have? How much would an eye exam be, if I don't have insurance? Thanks,

Hey Alle S. - please call our office at (919) 883-9987 and we would be happy to speak with you! There are many variables and we would like to quote you the proper amount.

So, I woke up Thursday morning, put on my glasses, and noticed the arm was broken--just my luck…read moresince I was headed out of town and these are my only pair! I rushed over to My Eye Doctor as soon as they opened at 9 AM, hoping they could help. But honestly, the girl at the front desk barely looked at my glasses. She just told me they couldn't fix them and suggested a jewelry store down the road. No help or options offered at all! When I asked more questions, she mentioned that my glasses are no longer carried there and that my insurance benefits for the year were all used up. It felt pretty dismissive. I finally asked for my prescription, which she said is good until January 16, 2026. This is the second time I've had a lousy experience here, and it's definitely the last. I took my prescription and headed to Costco instead, where they really came through for me. I ended up getting two new pairs for a little over $400. Plus, the tech there even fixed my broken glasses to hold me over until my new ones arrive. All in all, my visit to My Eye Doctor was frustrating and left me feeling pretty unsupported. If you need eye care, I recommend looking elsewhere where they actually care about their customers!

Brian, the manager was extremely professional in his response to my issues. They re-did my glasses and didn't even charge me for the correction. I do highly recommend this location as they showed me that if an issue occurs, they will fix it expeditiously.

I'm new in town and went here for the first time about a week ago…read more First, I was really impressed how bright and cheerful it was inside. They've obviously spent some time considering lighting and it really helps put you in a good mood when you walk in. Dr. White was great! He gave me a bunch of options other than glasses without the resigned tone that some doctors have talking to a person in their 60's. He mentioned aging in a very gracious way, not by saying "at your age..." which really sets me off. As it happened I sent in an old pair of glasses to get new lenses put in. Unfortunately, the frames broke in the lab. I got a text message from Aimee who apologized and said I could come in and pick out replacement frames at no cost. That was very generous and much appreciated. I have a vision plan but by the time you add in all the extra options like protective coatings, the cost can really add up. So it was great to be able to get some new frames without incurring an additional cost. Highly recommended. I really like this practice and you will too.
