I bought a pair of used shoes and discovered that they were delaminating from the sole.  I tried to fix it with shoe glue but it would not bond because it was not real leather.  Basically cheap quality materials. He asked me if I liked the shoe.  I said yes because it was cute looking and semi comfortable.  He offered to sew it together for $25.  I was fully satisfied with the outcome. Although I had a pretty simple request, I must say my experience was great! I brought in a pair of booties that I'd ripped the heel tips off. I stepped in sidewalk cracks a they were snatched completely off. I walked right in and presented my shoes. I was assured they could be repaired and asked to come back in 3 days. A real life saver-- I had some 100$ embroidered patches I needed to be sewed onto heavy duty bomber flight jackets-- my normal seamstress couldnt do it because of the odd angles and thick material-- but Parktown gave it a try and delivered! The repair job was sloppy. I should have known better than to go here because the condition of the shop was pretty bad. The door to the business doesn't even close properly and the glass on the door looks like it hasn't been cleaned in a few years. The shop interior is messy and disorganized. These are all bad signs, but I really needed the repair done. Shoe repair shops are far and few between. Lesson learned. I won't return. read more

I love this shop! They have fixed multiple shoes for me, most recently two pairs of my kids' shoes where the hook made of some flimsy polyester holding the velcro strap broke and they replaced it more securely than the original. They've also re-soled dress shoes. Very happy with this neighborhood gem. read more

So bad experience！！As you can see the pictures I upload，the soles are super thick in the front after done these（compares to the left pair I previously done by another store），these super thick soles made the shoes look very wired and ugly，and even look like the fake ones. This place has been a godsend to me. I have several pairs of shoes that I've owned for YEARS because this place keeps them alive. New heels, new soles, patching, you name it. I also tend to take all of my new shoes (heels mostly) to get soles with grips on them to keep me from slipping. They've also been able to repair a leather bag that tore. It's right by my house so that's great and his prices are fair and reasonable. Take cash or bring a check because they don't take cards. I've invested tons of money into my shoe collection and am thankful I have a place I know I can trust to help me keep them in tip top shape. You won't find a better shop around. read more

Do not take your sewing machine to this loser! I had to go back to him after his "repair" to have him fix it again. He didnt even try to clean(It worked for less than 5 minutes.) He was very rude and tried to blame it on me. I ended up taking it to someone else who said the guy left quite a mess ( like loose screws.) My dog got her paws on my gf's shoes and tore them up! Shoes are definitely a dog's favorite chew toy. They were pretty damage on the heels. My gf found a repair shop nearby so I decided to deliver them while she was at work. It was a family own shop with a husband and wife. The gentleman looked at the shoe and said he can fix the torn heel which will take a couple days. After a couple of days, I picked up the shoes and they looked brand spankin new! I've got to this cobbler a few times now. The first time was back in 2016 to re-heel a pair of boots which cost $13. Recently this year, another re-heel for a pair of boots was $15 and cleaning a pair of suede slips was $20. Very reasonable prices for great service. They are very professional and turnaround times are quick (2-3 days). Note that the store is CASH ONLY! And now they expect you to pay beforehand. Just something to keep in mind. read more

I think most of the women can commiserate on wanting to hold on to certain shoes forever because 1. they are no longer available for purchase 2. you simply can't find anything like them on the market to replace, and 3. they are way too comfortable to let go! I love these two pairs of kitten heel sandals so much that I originally owned just one pair bought from the retail store and got the second pair after searching high and low and found them on eBay and that was some years ago and they are simply irreplaceable. After both of the heels had worn down, I had to get them replaced and after look all over town, I located Parktown Repair Shop on Yelp and couldn't believe how close the place is to my home so stopped by, dropped off the shoes, owner/cobbler inspected them and told me I can pick them up within two days! A little mom and pop shop that does shoe repair, leather goods repair and vacuum cleaning repair. Located behind Quickly at the Milpitas Parktown shopping center. I brought in a pair of flats that needed the heel to be repaired and a leather purse where the handles were literally hanging by a thread. Walked in and the owner quoted me $30, there wasn't a price list, I think he just lets you know the price based on the work that needed to be done. You pay in advance and he gives you a ticket that you need to bring back to get your stuff. I brought it in Friday and he said it would be ready by Monday. Sure enough, the items were ready. I think they did a good job with the flats. I was a bit disappointed with the purse handles, one side you can see he had sewn it straight like it should be, the other side was obviously zig-zag and not straight. The place was definitely convenient, but unfortunately it just gets an "okay" from me. read more

When I buy a nice pair of heels that I know I will be wearing for a while...like classic black pumps for work, I will bring them in to have them put another extra layer on the top sole so that the bottom won't wear out as fast and lasts longer. It has cost me $17 for a pair of heels and they have done a great job. The extra layer creates more traction (as opposed to the smooth layer that most of my heels begin with), and is quite thick, so I know that my heels will last longer than expected. I usually bring my shoes in around the weekend, and they usually have it ready by Thursday of the following week. One more thing, CASH ONLY. read more

My family and I have been coming here forever.. this guy duplicates keys, fixes vacuums, fixes shoes (the heels for us ladies) and even polish/paint the color so that the pair of shoes will look brand new. Just last week I brought in 2 pairs of sandals.. one to fix the heels on both and one to fix the strap.. $17. I seriously don't know if that's pricey or not but that is a lot cheaper than buying 2 new pairs of shoes. Normally the shoes takes about 3-5 business days to complete. Fantastic shoe repair shop. Not cheap. Reasonable. Yet the work is top notch. These guys have repaired everything from my favorite rock climbing shoes to incredibly expensive Italian loafers and hand woven Brazilian cowboy boots that are pretty much works of art. Sure, the owner can be a little prickly -- but that's only because he deals with a bunch of dumb cheapskates who waltz in looking for a tube of Shoe Goo to fix their crappy shoes when given a quote to do the job right. I took my worn-out favorite belt to Mr Kim and asked him if he could replace it with a new belt. He told me my belt was not made of leather, I learned that "genuine leather" is not good quality leather. He told me he needed to order the leather belt and it would take some time for it to come. I just went to pick up my now real leather belt and I couldn't be more pleased with the result. Mr Kim's pricing is reasonable. It was one of those rough mornings -- I spilled coffee all over the car and on the way to work, I stepped into a crack on the sidewalk that completely inhaled the heel of my shoe. Not only did the heel on my all-time favorite heels ever get completely lodged into the crack, but it was so stuck that I had to use both hands to pull the darn shoe out. Of course, the bottom of the heel fell off, along with pieces of the leather. I had a work trip in 40 hours so I needed to fix my heels pronto. This is a wonderful little repair shop for shoes! This sleepy little store filled with vacuum parts and ancient looking shoe repair tools in the backroom is my go-to place for shoe stretching, heel replacement, and sole repair. I have a pair of Steve Madden boots with a wedged heel and a chunk of the bottle sole tore off and the wedge heels were wearing down. Parktown Repair was able to replace the sole and even retrofit new heels that look like they're originally part of the boot! So far, the new heel seems a lot sturdier than what Steve Madden provided. I've also had a pair of narrow Ferragamo Varas stretched for $10. Despite trying the thick-sock-and-hair-dryer technique a few times, Parktown Repair was actually able to stretch them to a comfortable wearable width. The employees are very friendly and aren't there to swindle you. I brought in a pair of heels that were half a size too small hoping they could stretch it and they were very honest in showing me that the stiff back part of the shoe doesn't stretch so I was SOL on that front. I called and a gentlemen picked up and I asked for a rough estimate on getting a boots and a sandals re-heel. He asked a few question, whether it was high heel or flat. He gave me a rough estimate but he said he would have to look at it first (which is totally understandable). So I asked if he had access to internet so that I can send him pictures. He kindly & humbly replied, "No" and chuckled (so cute, I can only imagine his sweet face). This place is closer to work than the other place that a co-worker recommended. I'm torn between the ease of getting an estimate because they are tech-savvy but I also like the retro/old school customer service/face-to-face. This review is based of the phone call: pleasant, fair, kind, courteous, humble gentlemen. Great customer service!!! I'll swing by today after work to get an estimate and make my final decision. I had initially brought these funky heels to Master Cobbler on Winchester to be repaired and Italian suede flats to be cleaned (it had vomit stains). They weren't able to do it. Shoe repair shop is always quite busy! The guy is good at repairing heels in a timely manner. I'm always satisfied when I pick up my heels. Also, if you want to save some spending money on new leather purses and not want to buy another one, he is able to dye leather purses back to its color-if it fades. This guy is awesome. I don't know how else to express the fact that he saved both of my fancy shoes! So I will admit that I tend to play favorites with my clothes, and especially with my shoes. I usually circulate between my brown and black chukka boots during the work week. Unfortunately, that means they got worn out very quickly. The heels on both shoes were grinded down to the wooden part, and I knew I had to get them repaired sooner or later. I was quoted $50 to get both pairs fitted with a new heel, which seemed reasonable to me. While you normally have to pay in advance, I didn't have any cash on me at the time. Fortunately, he let me come back next week to pay for it, and for that I am really grateful to him. When I come back, not only had he fitted heels that were much thicker and could last longer than my original ones, he had them polished and looking new! Here's to hoping my shoes last longer this time around, but in the off chance that I need to get them repaired again, I'm definitely coming back here! read more
