Great when you paying for the grave and opening and closing. Pitiful afterwards. Nearly 2 years after my father's passing and only a few scattered weeds and a few blades of grass on the sand used to cover his grave...repeated requests..have not accomplished anything. The fake compassion they exude ends when you hand over the money. Now it's only a business and no one cares. Worst cemetery I've ever been to and I've been to more than a few. They are Totally unfriendly and sarcastic. It's always the same 3 office people. They never can find their paperwork. I don't know what filing system they use...if any , but it doesn't work out for anyone. .. I can say thank God for the grounds workers. They at least are happy to help you. I am not in the habit of posting reviews for businesses; however, my experience was so awful, I feel I would be doing a dis-service by not warning others. To that end, here is my review. If it was possible to give a negative rating on this place I would. We had to watch my father's vault being driven by a backhoe to the gravesite and also witness it swinging back and forth before being deposited into the grave. As if that wasn't bad enough, we were also forced to watch as they dumped the dirt onto the grave and smoothed it over. Then, and only then, were we allowed to go over to the grave and have our graveside service! Loosing a loved one is already traumatic, but the lady who directed us into the cemetery was rude and insensitive. If you cannot show respect, compassion, and courtesy on what is probably the second worst day in some family member's life, get a different job; don't subject your patrons to your terrible attitude. Finally, the gravesites are not attended to properly. On our walk to my father's grave, we noticed markers that were noticeably sunk into the ground; others had grass growth from last year partially covering the markers. There is no excuse not to take care of them. Yes, it's a large cemetery with lots of graves, but that equals money to properly maintain the sites. read more

They don't really keep up on edging the grave stones, which makes it hard to find them. They say there's public access to bathrooms, but I've never been able to get in. It always seems like they're going out of their way to make it look like they're doing extra work on busier days, like mowing and edging, which in all honesty drives me crazy cause I'm obviously there to talk to a loved one, not listen to all that noise read more

Where to begin... The cemetery is very nice and well kept, as is the mausoleum. The buildings are beautiful and although you might be sad to visit, seeing all of the items left for people like flowers makes you realize how many people love those who have passed on. The hours of the mausoleum make it very difficult to visit as they aren't the same as the grounds. They aren't posted anymore- they were posted on the door but the display plate was so worn you had to get it wet to read it. It doesn't make sense to me- why can't you lock the buildings just before you lock the gates? Getting the space was also difficult- my grandfather was the original owner and left ownership jointly to my father and his brother. When my father passed, they refused to honor this, stating that "it follows the bloodline" which apparently didn't include me. Rather than go through probate court, I had to negotiate with my uncle over the space because of the office policy. The staff is a toss up. Sometimes they are really great and helpful, other times they are extremely rude and hateful. Getting through my dad's placement was really hard, but choosing a space for my mother and brother was smooth sailing. I had already purchased my father's urn and it was so tall it would not fit in any other spaces in the local area. The only highlight of my experience- the grounds manager let us put in a large photo of our dad although it is technically not allowed and was extremely kind during the internment. Based on my other experiences when I was shopping around, Parkside is just okay. Other places have more consistent hours- one place even had a code on the doors so you could visit any time. The service staff all around was much more friendly at other places. read more

This is the worst place to bury a loved one!! They charged us an additional $300 for burial services two days before we buried my father. They threatened us not to open the grave until we paid!! They are inconsiderate to the families. Disrespectful to the grave plots. They either destroy items on the plot or just throw them away. I wouldn't bury road kill there. And my father was a veteran. Linda T I am reporting the same disrespectful experience we had with the burial of my mother. They told us the chapel was closed so we thought that was okay we could still have the service at grave site. Well the hearse leaves and we see the burial vault coming down the road on a dirty wagon. Where is my Mom.? Oh, they say she is already in the vault with all these chains around it on the wagon!!!! Oh My God!!!! They dangle my Mom over the burial site and will not allow my little grandchildren to put roses on the vault. Now we all watch in horror as they use their dumptruck to throw dirt on my Mom. My grandchildren were so upset to see their greatgrandma get shovels of dirt dumped on her!!! Our Chaplin had to give her sermon in the middle of the road!!!! Where was the usual hoist for the coffin? Where was the green artificial grass covering the dirt and where were the chairs for the mourners?? I have never attended such a horrific burial service in my life. Sad part is that my husband and I have plots in your cemetary!!! Will we both have our loved ones see us disrespected also. I went to the cemetery to visit the graves of family and a friend. I stopped in to get "directions" to the grave sites. The man and woman working were pleasant and helpful. They provided me a map and explained how to get there. Despite the directions and map, I was still pretty turned around as it was my first visit. My only complaint is that the "sections" are not marked well. But the man who helped me inside must have seen that I was lost, because he drove over to me and walked me to my grandpa's grave. He then explained how to get to my friend's grave. It was extremely helpful and I appreciated his kind gesture. read more

The manager I dealt with was absolutely rude. I also felt like they were ripping me off. But I have many other family members in this cemetery and didn't want to go elsewhere. Had that not been the situation, I would have left and gone to another cemetery. I read another review about borders around markers. And, no they don't maintain those. It would be almost impossible for them to do so. I make sure I go once a year and do that myself. Someone complained about restrooms. That has never been a problem for me. read more

The grounds keepers are not careful about driving on and ruining other people's stones. The upkeep is terrible. Not only do they not allow cement or marble under the bronze markers, they do not keep them up. So much for perpetual care! Just drive around and see how many have only a tiny if any part of the stone still above ground. These should be reset anytime they are sinking and would not be so bad if set like other cemeteries with stone underneath. The hours keep changing too so that it is difficult to get there after work. They close earlier and earlier. I wish I had purchased my lots elsewhere. The office staff needs better people skills as well. read more
