Went to Parkway 8 Cinema with my wife to see Divergent. The movie tickets for a 1:20 pm show on a Saturday afternoon were only $2 a piece. This place is a dive but you should already expect this going in, especially when the movie tickets are so cheap. They make money when they only accept cash for EVERYTHING. They won't allow you to use a debit card or credit card. There is an ATM machine which charges $2 to withdraw money when you don't have cash coming in. Here is a break down of my charges. $2 - ATM Fee $4 - 2 Movie Tickets $10.75 - Large Drink/Large Popcorn Combo Total = $16.75 Bring cash, go for the kids combo which includes smaller drink and smaller popcorn and you can save $6. BTW, a large popcorn is huge. My wife and I only managed to eat 1/3 of the bag! In conclusion, this place a kinda of gross. There were some bums spitting in the aisle and talking during the movie but it wasn't that bad. For $2 per movie ticket, you can't go wrong. Bring your own snacks, soda, bring cash, and you can enjoy a movie for only $2 per person. Rates increase as the day goes on.

Okay so this place has $2 matinee movies on a Sunday. The movies that are played are movies that are about to go to DVD but still newer. This place is no frills and we were the youngest people in the theater by 30 years probably. It is Sarasota though ;-) I mean for the price it is worth it if you are bored and short on cash. Speaking of cash, they only take it. They have an ATM if you forget though! Don't worry about it being too cold in the theater, because I am pretty sure they keep their AC on 80. Oh and the sound system was weird too. It would be really quiet one second then really loud the other. It also seemed like the speakers in the back were the only ones working. So all the people who sat in the back on the sides moved to the inside because of the speakers. Other than that, the movie played and it was $2.

For the price....everything else is tolerable. Inexpensive way to catch a movie and beat the heat.

I love older movie theaters. They have an art house, nostalgic feeling. ...and you can't beat $2 movies (except $1 movies)

So for $2 it's quite the deal. But the floors are still not very clean and the "new" replacement seats are not very comfortable.

The tickets were $15.50pp for an evening film, so higher than a standard theater, but not by much. Where they really make their money is the concessions. My husband and I decided to have dinner there, and he ordered the cheesesteak with truffle fries and a Sprite, and I ordered the sliders with regular fries and a root beer. The facility automatically adds a 19% gratuity charge to the bill, and our total came to $71.00. Even I was slightly shocked at the price, since we were at a movie theater The service and servers were great. The sodas do have free refills, but unlike other boujee theaters, there isn't a call button to use at this one. Overall, it was a fun evening. We spent $100 for a date night, and I suppose that isn't too unusual anymore. The theater and bathrooms were clean, all employees seemed kind and we enjoyed the movie.

Severe Mold smell, wound up have asthma attack after being there for 3 hours. Dealing with mold sickness. Food was horrible! Had a chicken BLT Bun was hard as a rock, chicken was rubbery and un edible because they used a microwave to heat up food. My husband ordered a steak frites $42.99. Meat was terrible . Can't say all the food was all bad, popcorn, Fries and cake was good, and so was the water & beer & Margarita. The place is falling apart. The help had no idea what they are doing , giving people the wrong food and drinks. Placing them on your tray and then taking them back to give to the correct customer. Cost was approximately $160 per couple, waste of money. This place used to be an awesome experience a few years back, but now it's falling apart and the incompetence is unbelievable. If you don't mind mold and mediocre food this place is for you. At this point I will go out to dinner somewhere else like Season 52 and then go to different movie theatre afterward. I used to love this place. Sad this place went down hill. I have never been so disappointed :-( If they ever decide to clean it up and get better food I might go back.

There, a lovely 18th-century theatre, caught the eye of Everett "Chick" Austin, the first Director of the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art. He acquired the theatre's interior for the museum's collection in 1949." We saw a matinee performance of "All is Calm" and it was wonderful. The acting and singing were superb. We were thinking that the price is a touch high. I'd say twice as high as it should be. The theater is small so it looks like even in the balcony it is only 2 rows. Not packed. Cute and decorative. You can tell the performers tried their best to show their skill and talents. They had about 7 minutes for each performance slot. Charming Reynaldo Teaching the kids how to balance a spinning plate , had some Chaplin-esque skits.in the beginning he barely spoke , his non verbal communication was cute. Later he'd count to 5 in Japanese or French and even Spanish too. Little kids were delighted. He got up and personal with them and picked many to go on stage with him. I would say he performed the most. He was entertaining a bit between each segment. Little kids were giggling a lot. You can watch the aerial silks performances( seems to be so hugely popular no?), hand balancing acts, Twirling Cubique spinning , amazing crossbow skills ( also cute couple shooting each other's targets with a bow and arrow .) Duo fusion is an attractive af husband and wife balancing act where the wife does most of the lifting. They are just so pretty. Retro costumes really do pay homage to the classic balancing act that I expect to have seen & heard about in the bygone days of the circus ( proper)... or even Coney Island. So muscular and toned and so strong. So there you have it. See if you can arrange a discount ticket. *****Although this ticket does allow you a Summer Circus Bonus, which is $5 admission to the Circus Museum ~with is a wonderful sight to see at the Ringling

I'm so glad I booked this tour! it was the highlight of our Florida trip. Our tour guide, Susan, was professional, knowledgeable, and full of humor. She made the entire experience both informative and relaxing. Ca' d'Zan is simply breathtaking. This stunning Mediterranean Revival mansion sits on the shores of Sarasota Bay and was built in the mid-1920s as the winter retreat of American circus magnate, entrepreneur, and art collector John Ringling and his wife, Mable Burton Ringling. Although the mansion is over 100 years old, it still radiates the glamour, elegance, and artistic vision of the Ringlings. Every room is filled with exquisite craftsmanship and thoughtful details that reflect their passion for art and architecture. One of my favorite features was the magnificent ceiling paintings by the Hungarian artist Willy Pogany. Each one tells a story from another era, preserving its beauty for generations to admire. Standing on the terrace overlooking Sarasota Bay, I couldn't help but be reminded of the atmosphere from the movie Great Expectations. There was something incredibly romantic, mysterious, and timeless about the view. To me, Ca' d'Zan feels alive. If you slow down and listen carefully, the mansion tells its own story. There is glamour. There is longing. There is sadness. There is hope. And somehow, there is a place for you within it. I absolutely fell in love with this place. Without a doubt, this was the best attraction we visited during our trip to Sarasota. I would highly recommend the Uncovering Ca' d'Zan Guided Tour to anyone visiting the area, and I will definitely return to explore the Museum of Art next time.

The roses were supposedly in season, but honestly that part was a little underwhelming. My personal favorites were the ancient artifacts and the circus miniature. There are also some parts of circus history that definitely haven't aged well, including minstrel depictions, but history is history and I appreciated that it wasn't sanitized. My biggest issue was being asked THREE separate times to show our wristbands while walking the grounds. Normally, no big deal, but we watched larger groups walk right by without being questioned while our group of three kept getting stopped, despite our wristbands being just as visible. By the third time, it was hard not to feel like we were being profiled. That was disappointing, especially after driving an hour for a close friend's birthday. I usually don't spend my money where I feel unwanted, but I wasn't going to let it ruin her day. Beautiful museum and absolutely worth experiencing, but that part of our visit left a bad taste in my mouth.
