I did not have to wait long. Being on social security as my only income, I asked to see if the insurance I had would cover it. I wanted to see the frames covered. The receptionist assured me that it would all be covered by my insurance. After the exam which took five minutes (it was not extensive)I was given a choice of frames. THe ones I liked were $280 over my insurance, and they showed me the affordable ones. They were small and flimsy, not durable, but they were all they had to offer, so I agreed. Several days later they told me that it would cost forty bucks over the insurance for me to get the "free" frames. I don't have it, so I have no glasses. I should have gone to Optical Palace, also in Irvington, where there is also a good doctor and the frames are also not great, but better than here, and they don't lie to you or cheat you at Optical Palace. I have been a pt , seeing Dr Brown for over 15 years. The wait is lengthy once in the office. Staff is pleasant enough. And I LOVE Pauline, is such a breath of fresh air. Helps select the perfect frames , makes you feel at ease, professionalism beyond words!! She is a definite asset to the practice. She is excellent at what she does. I have seen Dr Ruth Salkin, on my past 2 office visits ( eye exam and dilation) and she is a kind and knowledgeable MD. My son and I are very pleased with her. The only take away, is the long wait. I have been going to this eye doctor for several years and I am pleased that Dr. Ruth was able to catch a situation with my vision. My problem is almost every time I order glasses/contacts there is always an issue. Also with appointments you're sitting in the waiting room forever. I recently moved out of the area but still traveled to Dr. Brown's office, but this recent incident with my contacts has made second guess my decision. I'm going to move on and find an eye doctor in my area. It's not worth the ride anymore. read more

I am very disappointed with the service. I orden my daughter replacement glass and it was never process. I call today around 1:30 pm to confirm if is ready and call back to confirm the address and nobody tell me the office closed at 2:00pm . Went I reach to the office one of the workers close the door in my face and tell me, we closed at 2pm. Is possible the nobody informed me that went I call 2 times. This treatment was very unprofessional I will be making a complaint to the manager of this very embarrassing situation. Dr. Brown took excellent care of my son. He was complaining about seeing the board in school. She not only corrected the problem but styled him in 2 great pairs of glasses. One from her very own collection. The facility is beautiful and the staff is friendly. We were in and out. The process was very efficient. I highly recommend this office. She also took our insurance which kept the cost down. Again overall thumbs up! read more

Great experience with Dr and her staff, the waiting room was crowded but moved at normal pace, I arrived early for appointment and was seen during my allotted time . Waiting room had tv so I was happy. Exam went as expected picked our some new Gucci frames and got a pair of sunglasses as well. Excellent , knowledge staff and Doctor was polished. If I could give zero stars, I would. Please do not go here. Period. Jeanette from their front desk service was very rude and disrespectful towards my client and me. I called because my client had difficulty speaking English and I assisted to inquire about a concern. After Jeanette's rudeness, she passed it to the doctor, Dr. Kimberly Brown, whom was also rude as well. The Dr. gave poor explanation and had no patience to elaborate. I can truly see why people would be miserable to work there if the Dr. is rude as well. Besides disrespectful and rude service, this place is notorious on making you wait for more than an hour wait. NEVER AGAIN. Dr. Brown is very rude & unprofessional. I had a 12pm appointment got there at 11:55. No one was sitting at the desk. I sat down in a room full of other patients. Waited 20mins & still no one at desk. When someone did come I then eaited another 10mins & walked up to desk & stated i was a new patient & asked if any paperworked needed to be filled out. Yes. I filled it out at the 40min waiting mark. Then I finally was called to back at 1:20pm. Young lady doing prep work was professional & pleasant. Once i got in back I could tell energetically that this wasnt a nice place to work. You could feel the fear & disdain the staff had towards the dr. Anyhew, they put me in a room where dr, seemed to be wrapping up notes etc. Never saw her face the entire 15mins she was in room. Then she leaves out comes back in at another 20mins later so its approx 2hrs since i arrived. Then she has no idea why im here; asking the same ??? her staff member asked me previously. Then she goes on to tell me what she cant do & what she gone do; repeating herself like one of those aggravating customer service reps trained to keep telling u the same exact thing over. Bottom line I tryed to politely give her an opp to start over & this old dog said she was not going to examine me only after she rudely proceeded to pull the eye thing in front of my face. Anyhew the bottom line is this woman has some serious personal issues going on & she is projecting them on everyone. DON'T GO HERE IF YOU EXPECT TO BE TREATED LIKE A HUMAN BEING. I went to Dr. Kimberley Brown office for a routine eye examine. I waited almost two hours. When I mentioned the extreme wait time to Dr. Brown she basically said stuff happens and I didn't have to wait. I was taken aback by that response so I said no more. I had another appointment and this time I got right in and the visit went smoothly. So I said to Dr. Brown, thank you for being nice and professional this time, I do appreciated it. She said that was a BACKHAND SLAP and to take my business elsewhere!!! I thought I was giving her a complement. Now I have to go out of my way to find another doctor to take my insurance..
