Just bought a new Maverick here last week, specifically because they were so good to work with on my last vehicle, which turned out to have some manufacturing defects. They were extremely helpful in a situation where they could have just left me to deal with the Ford corporation on it. I definitely feel seen as a member of their community rather than just a sale. Our sales consultant this time was Doug Guzick, and he is a completely solid guy. Great communicator, kept us up to date on what was happening throughout the process of getting the vehicle we wanted there and then getting it transferred to us. He knows what he is doing, knows how to make things smooth for his customers, and is just plain nice. In the process of dealing with my last vehicle's problems, I dealt with a number of different dealers, and the one that really treated me right was Parkway. They are the BEST!!! I work in Winston and live 45 minutes away. After getting off work on a Friday afternoon it was raining heavy and my tire pressure light came on and the pressure was 25 lbs! It was 5:15 p.m. and I pulled in to Parkway Ford Service. Patrick greeted me and I told him the problem. He was kind, friendly and smiling (even at the late hour). He asked Jeffrey to look at it and they found a bolt in and immediately plugged it (while I was in the car). In under 10 minutes I was on my way home and they didn't charge me a penny. Beware: Took my car in for a recall at their suggestion. As one of their employees moved the car across the street he pulled out in front of a tow truck (not sure how he missed seeing it). Parkway Ford evaluated the situation and said the car was totaled. The car was in excellent condition when it arrived at Parkway Ford. The only thing that they have done is turn it over to their insurance. The owners of Parkway Ford have been less than accommodating. Where is the integrity of these owners? Is this something learned or just their easy way out of an unbelievable situation. Their insurance has been horrible to work with. We are on our own. No help at all in finding another car. What was offered by the owners if we find (on our own) another car was insulting. The moral compass at the top doesn't exist. We are out thousands of dollars for a situation we never asked for. Very sad way to do business. Please beware. Very disheartening to outwardly be treated this way. Our disappointing loss. read more

Ordered a 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor earlier this year to the exact spec I wanted. Fast forward 6 months and I find out that a $1,100 graphics package somehow got added to the build. After going back and forth with the salesman who allegedly spoke with the owner, they're choosing to not own up to their mistake because they can make more money selling it to someone else. Having put all my eggs in this basket, I'm now forced to go to the back of the line with another dealership and start the process over again. To the owner - Try to remember that your dealership is the same now as it was before COVID. My review is for the service department. I brought my truck in for a safety recall. Scheduling by phone was easy. Made an appointment for 8:00 AM. Repair was stated to take 3 hours. Dropping off my truck was easy. They even had free shuttle service to downtown (I didn't want to wait on it). I picked it up late in the afternoon. The guy that provided the shuttle service was great. 5 stars for that guy. The customer service was a 5 star. They explained the repair. Provided me with an additional assessment on what I may need in the future. If I didn't already have a trusted repair shop, I would have no problem bringing my vehicles here to be worked on. So why not 5 stars? Minor stuff. Mainly the web site was jacked up and would not let me schedule my appointment online. The repair was scheduled for 3 hours but when I called at noon, it still wasn't ready. Perhaps they knew I could wait and put it lower in the priority queue. It had no impact to me but why schedule a time when you want me to leave it all day. Overall, I recommend. Like I stated, the folks here were fantastic to work with. read more

After moving back from LA I took my ford focus to Parkway Ford. They didn't want to do a service on my car even though I bought it from them. They said they don't know the history of my car. What history? It's been sitting in my driveway. One thing I can say about the car dealer in Los Angeles that I bought my car from they never had a problem servicing It. Now I have to run all over town to get things done that I had done at the dealership in California. It's almost like they aren't interested in making money. read more

Long story short, I had major internal engine problems with my f150 that should have been covered under warranty. I brought the truck in for repair only to be told that the noise was "normal wastegate rattle" according to Ford. I gave them a copy of the TSB describing the noise, the failure, and the solution (the electronic version of which even included an audio clip of the noise). The same problem (cam phaser failure) is a well-known pattern failure on these engines and had previously occurred on my truck and been repaired under warranty. I was fairly certain of my diagnosis. So much so that when they called to tell me out was fine, I asked them to listen again. They called back within the hour to tell me the same thing. This is problematic because at first the noise only occurs at cold start, and an hour later is not long enough to check it again. Clearly they did not check it again, just repeated the same statement, assuming I didn't know what I was talking about. They declined to repair, then the warranty expired. The problem progressed, the truck broke down on a road trip in Canada, and now I'm stuck with $10,000 in repairs and 5 months with the vehicle off road waiting for parts to fix an inappropriately denied warranty claim. The repairs were more extensive than originally needed because the failure progressed in the mean time, taking out other timing components and catalytic convertors. I filed claims with Ford customer care who blamed the dealer ("they are independent and we don't have any control over them") and with Parkway who to this day has never responded to emails, phone calls, letters, and Ford customer care. I eventually completed repairs and am selling the truck to buy another brand. My experience could happen to anyone (modern cars are complex and certainly misdiagnosis is possible, even when the correct diagnosis is handed to you on a platter like this was), but the complete lack of response to email has been frustrating. Presumably, they realize they screwed up and are hoping this goes away. After posting a review on Google, I received my first response from parkway. Basically they said they regret my disappointment but said they could not duplicate the problem. This is not true. There was never difficulty dupkicating the problem. It happened at every cold start. We disagreed over the significance. I was proven correct to my significant financial loss. My advice: look for literally any other dealer should you wish to buy a Ford. I've had better luck with Crossroads and Crescent. Caveat Emptor read more

This was after the story changed many times as to how they think the damage was done. I am a 100% disabled veteran and he did this to me. New vehicles, and everyone then, seem to bend over backwards for service issues and questions. NOW, we have been pushed aside for care of our vehicles at Parkway Ford. I was there on November 3rd for the recall repair and just ask to check my transmission hesitation issues (which I was informed that wasn't a part of the recall), but was told that maybe they could look at it in January if I wanted to bring it back then. This was an issue that I had looked at back several years ago, but was told then to just keep an eye on it and bring it back in if it seem to get worse. I also noticed that just a simple oil change has risen to $90.00+, which is going for an average of $35.00 everywhere else in our area. I realize that thing are getting worse in our economy, but so is your service. I just wonder where the 5 STAR rating came from? I was thinking on a new explorer but you guys made up my mind for me very quickly. I know that this complaint will be deleted and canned, but I just had to speak up. Keep up the 5 STAR SERVICE!! especially to those who are paying out the nose for those awful service prices and automobile increases. We came here looking for a new vehicle for my husband. We did our research ahead of time and had an idea of what we were looking for. Our salesman, Terry, was fantastic! He was very knowledgable and not that typical stereotypical pushy, annoying "car salesman scumbag-kind of guy." (No offense car salesman of the world). He made us feel at ease during our purchasing process. I also liked how the finance lady (forgot her name) spoke to me like "a mom". We originally wanted the 0% interest for 72 months but she explained how if we took the low financing, we would be able to use some rebates that were being offered. It ended up saving us money! (Don't always go for the 0% interest! There could be a better deal out there!) We ended up getting a new 2015 Ford Focus, which was at another location... We were able to get the car delivered the same day! There was a little bit of a wait while getting financed and everything , which was to be expected. But all in all, to be able to walk in to a dealership in the am and leave with a car the same day, which was great!!! What a good experience!!! i took my 2013 c-max in with a extended warranty, i was told by the service people that they didn't want to repair the car. it was to much effort to deal with extended warrantys and to much effort and hassle to deal with a hybrid cvt trans. they even tried to tell me something was also wrong with my engine because the oil was dirty.... yea nearing time for a oil change you know what dirty oil is normal... and being a quart low isnt abnormal either... but i couldnt belive with a extended warranty they dont want to repair the trans, i thought thats what dealerships are for.... but they said its over 10 years old and a hybrid cvt and they just did not want to bother with it, so i had to pay for a tow truck to come take my car home before they charged me storage fees for a car i want fixed... ill never go back and yes i own other ford produced cars... now is it the service manager or the trans repair workers that dont want to fix it i dont know, i do know however if the service manager says fix it they will cause hes soposed to be in charge of whats repaired.. so if your dealing with Drew be carful he might just deside he doesnt want to fix your car. read more

This review is for the University Parkway location. I stopped by the service department yesterday to inquire about a multi-point inspection (oil change, tire rotation, etc.). The service rep was very friendly, and set up an appointment later in the day for my car. I arrived for my appointment a few minutes early- they took the car right away and everything was completed in less than 30 minutes. The information they provided on my tires (time to change in about a year) was exactly the same I had received from another dealership, so I know they were honest. Excellent service, and I will continue to bring my Ford Escape to their shop for service. (I should add that I have now had various Ford vehicles serviced by the dealerships in Texas, Tennessee, and North Carolina. In all cases, I have received excellent service and support. The service manager is a racist jerk. I left them a bad survey after they tried to get me to replace 4 new tires, and didn't perform my state inspection. My husband (then boyfriend) was a tech for them at the south store. He was called into the service managers office multiple times and was threatened to be fired. I eventually changed my survey to protect his job. When our daughter was born he made my husband come to work saying he would be fired even though I was in labor. There are so many grievances with Parkway Ford and Brian Miller, but I think you get the gist. This company has it out for black employees so it wouldn't surprise me if they give their black customers the same treatment. Please be aware. read more

Parkway Ford's body shop did a horrible job repairing my Camry. After closer inspection, I noticed runs in the clear coat (at least that is what they said), door edge guards had bubbles in them, and a scuff in the paint. They had my car for 5 days and return it to me with more noticeable damage than before. They said that they would fix it for free, considering they give a lifetime warranty. We can fix that while you wait if you bring it back. How long do they want me to wait actually? Does that give the clear coat time to dry? I had a rental and now they want me to wait while they fix it "again". Poor quality work. Do not allow your insurance company recommend them as one of their "preferred" body shops. Choose your own. While driving my truck camper through the South, the dreaded "Check Engine Light" appeared on my dash. As my camper is based on an F550, I looked for a larger dealer, who might have the experience needed to deal with my truck. I called Parkway and explained my situation to Jason in the service department. He encouraged me to bring it in. I was three hours away. I spent the night researching the problem online. The next morning, I drove three hours to get to Winston-Salem by opening. Understanding our camper is our home, they diagnosed the problem, a faulty sensor. The good news, they had a new sensor in stock. The bad news: they frequently break when removed, necessitating a very expensive repair process. Not only were they able to successfully remove it, they did so by 5:00. Jason, and Brian the mechanic went way above and beyond to help. We even got a loaner so we didn't have to spend the entire day at the dealership. I may never be in Winston Salem again, but I'll recommend this dealership to anyone I know. My husband made an appointment to get a new key. We dropped off the car and was notified a hour and half later it was ready and that's when all hell broke loose. As I tell this story, I want to say that my husband lost his temper and that was NOT cool but this Ford dealership is clearly a money racket machine. When he picked up the car, there was no power steering (inside lights where reading 'power steering fail, Advance trac and hillside trac). When he questioned why, Kyle, the manager said that his mechanic said the car was hard to steer when we brought it in (BS). He also said that according to the diagnostic they ran, the power steering went out 48 miles prior (BS). Why would we spend $300 on a spare key for a car with power steering issues?!?! Clearly when programming the key something happened and they didn't want to OWN it. Long story short. The problem was fixed in 10 minutes by a REPUTABLE mechanic. This place is disgusting and our next step is too contact the attorney general. I feel bad for the folks they have conned because I know we are not the only ones they have done this too. read more

He bought his truck in for service on Monday to be serviced on Tuesday and when he returns to pick it up they told him it would be another two hours for a simple repair. In January we bought a Ford Explorer which was a couple years old and a couple thousand miles away from the warranty running out. with 35,500 miles the battery died. They replaced the battery for free but what we had to go through was kind of a joke. I was going to call AAA to jump the car and just drive it down. They said no, we should have it towed by our people. What? Was told, there might be something else wrong with it. well the tow guy came and in 5 sec he told me, it's the battery. I told him I know but Parkway insisted on having it towed. He gave me this, 'what?' look and then towed it in. They kept it the afternoon and said call in the morning. When we called they said, "we tried to charge it and it wouldn't charge. we had it on the computer all night and everything is okay with it. Must be the battery" I bit my tongue before I said, You think? They replaced the battery and we went down to pick it up. We're now over 36k miles. Won't see these guys again. read more

Gross disappointment is how I would describe my experience with this dealership. In my opinion, honesty and integrity are not things that are important to them. My ordeal with them lasted nearly 8 weeks during which I caught them in several lies, ran QC on their work, got the runaround, charged me for repairs that were not completed, paid a second time for the same repairs and had to pay to fix their mistakes. As they were fixing one issue on my car, they broke something else and are currently trying to force me to pay for it.

First off I have been a long time Ford fan and have only owned fords for 24 years. I have bought three fords and spent over 120K at this particular dealership alone. With that said I will never buy another ford again. That really saddens me to say since I have been a loyal customer for so long. This dealership made that decision for me. The sales team here does a great job of tricking you into thinking that you are making a good decision and they will take care of you for life. This is NOT TRUE. The last vehicle I purchased was over 60K and had numerous problems. The first problem happened about two months after purchase. There was a loud banging and thumping noise coming from under my vehicle. This is very alarming since it was brand new and it could be a dangerous issue. I brought my vehicle in and they took a look at it. They acknowledged that there was an issue and they could hear it and apparently feel it under their feet, but could not find out what it was. I ended up settling for that answer for now. When the noise continued, I felt the need to bring it back since I just spent so much money. Again the service department confirmed that there was a problem, but couldn't find out what it was. I then decided to call the sales team because surely they would be interested in hearing about one of their very expensive vehicles causing an issue after only a couple of months. That was also not the case. I was passed around the dealership from person to person, explaining how I just purchased a vehicle and it already had problems and the service department couldn't find and fix it. Finally after explaining the same situation to about 8 people, I was told by a sales manager that they would not take the vehicle back even though they couldn't fix it, but I could trade it in for a new vehicle!!!!! Of course that's at my own expense and of course they would make more money off of me. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I surely thought that my factory warranty or longtime loyalty would have done something. Nope! The sales team was trying to get more money out of me. I called a couple of more times after that and was again passed around the dealership. After years I still have the noise under my car and this dealership has yet to treat me like a customer. You're only a customer when you want to buy something from them. Do not buy a vehicle here. You will regret it. On a side note their used cars are grossly overpriced. I took my son their to look at cars and I couldn't believe how much they were asking for their used cars. I took him to toyota and only paid $600 over KBB value. But you have to pick at least one to make this go through you Can you bring your vehicle to them in the first thing they tell you is that it's not under warranty even when it is just so they can make the almighty dollar. And when you do have some thing fixed it's under warranty something else mysteriously ends up going wrong with your vehicle after you've brought it to Parkway Ford. We had our transmission rebuilt in our 2017 Ford explore less than seven months ago and it blew up again. They will not stand behind their work and wanna try to charge us an outrageous amount of money. We also have A 2015 Ford fusion. Ford had to replace the motor because of their superior design where are they like to blow up under 100,000 miles. They replace that and of course every part they have to take off from that motor to put onto the new motor is now failing including fuel sensors throttlebody front axles because they needed to remove those to get the engine out so now we have major front end issues after they had their best mechanics work on it. So I would just like to let everybody know in North Carolina or the surrounding states do not Use Parkway, Ford please save yourself the headache use anybody else but Parkway they will take you for everything you have and I do not stand behind their work. I dropped my vehicle off on a Saturday morning to get a fuel pump installed.. They said they could not start work on it till Monday and it would be $1,236. Called Monday morning and was told someone would have to call me back. I called back cause nobody returned my call. They said they did not know it was there. Then they called back at 2:30 and I explained I needed it by 11:30 Tuesday morning They said ok. Tuesday at 11:30 they had not started it. I asked for my keys and left and had to return a rental car. My review is for the service department at Parkway Ford North, University Pkwy, Winston-Salem. I was needing my airbags replaced due to a recall. I went there on Wednesday July 3rd 2019 at 7:30 am with an appointment. The service adviser I was dealing with seemed cordial in the beginning but I think it had to do with the fact that my husband was with me. I was in need of a loaner car and he said that he didn't have any available. We only had the one car. He said when one became available that he would put my name on it and give me a call. So since it was a holiday, I figured I would wait until Friday July 5th 2019. Luckily we were on vacation that week. No phone call at all!!! Monday July 8th 2019 rolled around and no phone call. I called them and asked to speak to the guy I was dealing with. He was on his phone so I left him a message. Never returned my phone call. So Tuesday July 9th 2019 I called back and he answered the phone. I proceeded to tell him that I had called on Monday and left a him a message and he said that he never received it. Right!!!! He told me then to bring it in on Wednesday...this is a whole week later now and that he would have a loaner car. I miss work and was there at 7:30 Wednesday July 10th 2019. He tells me then that he needs 3 things from me. My drivers license, debit card and proof of insurance. Long story but at the time I didn't have my proof of insurance. I had no clue at this point what he needed these for so I was very frustrated. I wasn't told anything about these things he needed in the beginning. I asked him if I could leave my car anyway and he said no. I asked...so if I bring my car back in the morning on Thursday you will have a loaner car for me? He said bring me those 3 things and we will see. I am livid now and don't want to deal with him anymore. I figured he was treating me this way because I was by myself and my husband was at work. I felt humiliated. After that, I let my husband deal with this situation and he called the service manager. Finally, I get a loaner car and drop off my car on Thursday July 11th around 4 pm. I check on it today Friday July 12th at 2 pm and they said it will be another hour or so. It was there yesterday so what happened to this morning that they couldn't start on it early. I hate this situation that I am in. This was a recall. Not my fault at all. I felt like I had to jump through hoops just to satisfy them. Bulls***!!!! I will not mention who I dealt with in the beginning. Not sure I would recommend them for service. read more
