I was out running errands this AM and my vehicle began acting sluggish. At the same time, my "check engine" light came on and stayed on. I called around to get the problem diagnosed. Some could not see me for days. While others wanted to charge me a $250 diagnostic (plug the meter and read the coded problems) fee. Carolina Auto Service said they would get the codes for free if I agreed to fix anything they would get compensated. I feel I was treated respectfully. I got to review to identified problems as well as sign off on the repairs with a known Fee amount. I will use this car care company for my future repair needs! read more

To whoever is getting a black c6 worked on here, it seems like it just got done today 4-14-2026. I saw the guy pull out their lot and spin your car around and almost maxed out 1st gear in the mall lot and then parked it in the front. Prices are WILD! I went in for 15 minutes to ask for a quote on getting my lights changed out. Says, I can't give you a quote, they have to pull it out and look just incase. The car technician said the whole cover needed to be replaced and we can't do that today as we don't have the parts on us. Then they charge $85.19 to tell me they can't fix it today. I could have done nothing at all and had the same outcome... The people were nice, nothing against the guys working. Very helpful at the end of the day but $85 to do nothing and charge tax twice on the receipt and a card fee when I paid cash which I mentioned and he said nothing about. CRAZY :/ read more

Nice professional interior with free coffee and cold water... did a great job LOF and tire rotation When I first called he tried to sell me a $79.99 oil change even though I told him twice it was regular oil. But finally after he looked up my car he charged me $29.99. Make sure you know what oil you take otherwise they might charge you the higher price like they tried to do with me. $79.99 for an oil change is severely overpriced. Never pay that much. read more

My 1998 Toyota Camry stopped running in my driveway. I took a peek at the timing belt which seemed connected. I followed You Tube and replaced everything that prevented the car from starting except the timing belt. Finally I gave up and got the car towed to Carolina. Several hours later I got the call. The timing belt was broke. Carolina replaced the belt, water pump and seals. They do a repair the right way and don't cut corners. I highly recommend Carolina. read more

I recently had a problem with the windshield wipers in a 1995 Toyota Land-cruiser that is my pride and joy...I love that old truck (but I digress...) I do not have a regular auto repair mechanic so I googled auto repair in Winston-salem and discovered Carolina Mobile Auto Service. I called and spoke to the owner, Bob, I think was his name. Very nice guy on the phone and asked me to bring it in. I dropped off my Land-cruiser at his shop on Stratford Rd for an oil / filter change, DMV inspection and the have a look at the intermittent windshield wiper problem. Bob called me mid-day to advise me that he couldn't find a problem with the wipers. he told me all that he had done to trace the source of the problem and I was impressed, but that it must have sorted itself out when reinserting the fuse. He only charged me 1/2 hr labor which was nice of him although he spent longer trying to identify the problem. He changed the oil and filter and I have not had any problems since with the wipers. I deducted 1 star because he did not do the dmv inspection which was something I had asked him to do. I didn't realize that it hadn't been done until I went to the DMV to renew my license plate and had a block on my tag for not having had the inspection done. I should have caught it, but I had asked for the service to be done, and it wasn't. Otherwise, Bob and Carolina Mobile auto service did a nice job and I will return when the need arises. read more

They did a courtesy check for free and sat with me to explain in great detail what was going on and provide a quote. No additional charge for this on my oil change bill. I'm at wake forest for law school and when I heard a weird noise radiating from my car I figured it was time to find a mechanic. They were very easy to book an appointment with, and I didn't have to wait long for an opening either. Sometimes when I go to auto mechanic shop they see me, realize I don't know anything about cars and jack the prices up. Fortunately my dad knows when a service quote looks off. This is one of the few places that has not tried to pull one over on me. Their prices are incredibly fair. In addition the staff is incredibly nice and helpful. I did a quick search for a mechanic and found these guys. Gave them a call and explained my situation, and they called a tow truck to come and get me and my car- I didn't even have to mess with it. They took a look at my car, found the problem, and fixed it within an hour. Price was very reasonable, I experienced excellent service, waited in a comfortable waiting room, and was in and out quick.
